Nothing special. Simple motel on a hill with a street entry you might miss the first time around. My room was small and cramped. It had both a fridge and microwave. Important because, even though there's a sign in the reception indicating there's a breakfast, there isn't. But you can buy some groceries and a morning beverage choice and cook up your own. There is 24/7 coffee in the lobby area. But it's hidden in an alcove. Room decor was fairly conservative. Curtains and drapes were full of stains. Ground floor rooms seem to have sealed windows. So for air flow, you'll need to use the conditioner. I guess some rooms are better than others. Interior doorways are on the upper floors. Otherwise, if you're on ground level, pull up by your room. I have stayed here before on an overnight pass-through. I chose it again this trip because it was one of the lowest prices I could fetch in this motel corridor area off of the 40. Once Covid is conquered, prices will go up and tour buses will once again bring visitors to fill up the rooms. So find your best deals now this year.

My wife and I stayed overnight here in late last October after spending the day at Lowell Observatory, which was the main reason we had come to Flagstaff during our Arizona vacation.

Our stay was adequate. The room we got on the second floor was clean. Road noise was not an issue. The breakfast in the morning was good. The hotel does not have an attached restaurant. On the advice of the very helpful and pleasant person at the front desk, who named several nearby restaurants, we chose to ate dinner that night at the Olive Garden a little ways down South Beulah Boulevard, which is conveniently accessed using the hotel's back entrance/exit.

One constant problem we experienced during our brief stay was the keycard access. It was extremely flaky. Even after ensuring that nothing electronic or magnetic got near the rescanned keycards, they didn't work reliably. The person at the front desk told me that the hotel was due for a renovation soon. If that happened pre-COVID, perhaps the problem has already been addressed.

I've stayed here a couple of times before. Generally offers good prices when no tour groups are staying here. The location is on a bluff off of Milton heading south from the freeways. In winter it's best to loop around the backside with a turn on Forest Meadows with another right on Beulah. That's because of the possible icy conditions on the main access roadway. Most rooms offer good views. My room had a coffee maker, small fridge, and a microwave. My bed was comfortable. But the room was downstairs overlooking the pool and had security windows which didn't open. So no outer air circulation except from the air/heater room system. They now offer a pretty complete continental breakfast off the lobby area as well as a coffee bar supposedly monitored and resupplied 24/7. Good location for shopping and restaurants. But downtown shops and activities are about 2 miles north.

Yes, we are currently in the middle of a pandemic, but that's no excuse to NOT have any breakfast, especially if you advertise a free HOT breakfast. I've been traveling to national parks for the last two weeks and I've stayed at various hotels that have worked around this. The best one was in Colorado Springs, where they had an employee who would simply give you a plate of whatever you were interested in -- yay for bacon and sausage and waffles and juice! And even a budget location like Econolodge in Utah gave me a bagged breakfast to go that consisted of a bagel and an oj. It all comes down to the effort that the hotel wants to make. It's obvious that this business has no interest in customer service and is simply using the virus as an excuse to cut some corners. I could have spent less at a different hotel and went out for my own breakfast.

That is the main reason for the poor rating, but there are other factors, too. This hotel is in need of some maintenance and upkeep. Their electronic card reader seriously needs an upgrade. For security reasons, you need to use your card key to get onto the elevator. But, i had to insert it at least 10 times in order to get it to work. I also witnessed another guest with the same issue, so my experience was not just a one off. I had the same problem with the door to my room, but it only took about 5 times in order to get that to work.

Inside the room, the second thing I touched broke! I tried to turn on a lamp so that I could see to turn on the ac and the switch fell through the hole! It's completely nonfunctional! The chair in the room is frayed and stained. The seat on the toilet is loose and is just about to fall off. The AC blows cold, but would make a high pitched noise at times.

And the room seems only "surface cleaned." The push button to open the microwave door was grimy, but the inside of it was cleaned. The bathroom faucet is the type that you push up and while it appears clean, the spot underneath the handle, where you actually touch to operate it, is dirty! All of this makes me seriously doubt how clean and safe this is. If you're going to used Covid-19 as an excuse to not serve breakfast, you need to make sure your cleaning meets virus protocol!

Stay somewhere else! I'd rather have stayed at a more budget location and spent less money!

This is the first time in over a decade I’ve stayed at a hotel where the wifi didn’t work and I had to use my phone as a hotspot. This would have earned Baymont by Wyndham a 2-star review alone, but then they stuck me in a room next to a noisy outdoor pool where no one was social distancing, and also near a very large and noisy machine that was constantly turning on and off. The only positives were there weren’t any bugs and the shower worked.

This experience has also made me wary of TripAdvisor’s recommendations because they listed this as the #1 value hotel in Flagstaff at $110/night. I have stayed at Super 8’s and Motel 6’s that were better than this and almost 1/2 the cost. Definitely never staying in a Baymont by Wyndham again and my confidence in Trip Advisor has been dented.

Platinum member, made reservation, called to verify i need early check in of 2pm, called hotel directly to make sure the day before, they said no problem, went at 230pm. Guy at the front desk didn't even look at computer or call housekeeping. I told him i called to verify cause i need to shower before work, he tells me a flat out, doesn't even make sense lie. He says that corporate makes commission off each booking so they will tell you anything, but the guy didn't even realize i had also called and talked to someone who they would have rooms ready. He was probably almost off his shift and just didn't wanna do anything. I worked 13 years for the hotel industry, what he should have been trained to do is call housekeeping get a new list of ready rooms. You mean to tell me by 230pm no one has checked out and rooms cleaned? Pass. I had him cancel my room and i went down the street to another hotel that was pretty cute, it was $8 more but they had no problem accommodating.

We thorougly enjoyed our 2-night stay at this hotel. The bed was comfortable, the shower one of the strongest ever experienced in a hotel, and they actually serve a hot breakfast. It is the typical eggs/sausage/biscuits and gravy/pastries selection, but rare to find in the aftermath of Covid. We would stay here again. All the staff was friendly and helpful.

I booked a stay for myself, my husband, and our 9 1/2 month old daughter. We booked for two nights.
I had stayed at The Baymont before, years and years ago. It was nothing like I remembered. First impression was that it was run down but not too bad. I’m not the hardest person to please when it comes to hotel stays… usually, so I was just rolling with it even though off the bat, I wasn’t impressed at all.
We checked in and I asked the front desk attendant for “the crib” that the hotel advertises as an amenity. It’s not a crib, it’s a pack and play from probably the early 2000’s. It was falling apart and honestly pretty gross looking, so I ended up declining it and we went to our room.
I’d say we were in our room for about 2 hours. We were getting dinner and in that time, our daughter was crawling around playing with her toys. As we go to get her ready for dinner, I noticed immediately that her hands and feet were black… from the carpet…
It was disgusting.
After thinking about it, I realized that a lot of railroad workers were staying at the hotel and I’m sure a lot of whatever came from the floor probably came from their boots- which… can’t be healthy or safe for anyone, let alone babies and children.
Look, I know my kids going to be dirty sometimes, she’s going to play with dirt and get into things she shouldn’t.
But when I pay for a hotel room, I expect her to be able to crawl around on a carpet floor without needing an immediate bath because the hotel doesn’t care about cleaning their freaking carpet.
So if you’re a family, be careful. Don’t let the kids play or sit on the floor. And if you experience the same thing as I did, don’t expect a full refund. Ownerships resolution to this was an apology and a partial refund, even though we were only in the room for a couple hours before we checked out.
My advice, stay at the Country Inn by Radisson. It was the exact same price and so much nicer and cleaner.

Like so many older properties, this one needs some refurbishing. The staff were pleasant, the breakfast was beautiful for gluten tolerant people and the pool was picture book gorgeous. The rooms were comfortable but a paint brush and a deep cleaning would go a long way. Prices was in line for the property.

1) is this hotel pet friendly? 2) is it on the east or west side of Flagstaff?
Answer from Mrs_RSF

Sorry, don’t know their pet policy but I’m sure you can check online. Trip advisor may even have that information in their reservation section. It is on the south end of Flagstaff, on Milton Road. It is near NAU and the downtown area. Flagstaff is not very big and you can just about anywhere in less than 15 minutes.

They insist on taking a credit card for incidentals. But four times I’ve been there they double charged me for the room so be very careful and watch your credit card statement to make sure they don’t re-charge you for the room after you paid it on Expedia. Manager will not call you back I’ve now been waiting 2 1/2 weeks for him to call me back and explain why my card was charged a second time and get a refund.
