Stayed here for two different nights before and after backpacking in the Grand Canyon. This place is all about the location and being an affordable place to stay in downtown flagstaff. They are working on refreshing the rooms with paint/staining the cabinets. I wish there was a fan in the bathroom. I was on the first floor so there was minimal noise from the trains. If you want a very affordable placer that is walkable to downtown Flagstaff, this is it. Nothing fancy.
We were looking for a cheap place to stay and picked here because it was so close to downtown. While we were waiting in to check in area, I looked at the reviews and l was TERRIFIED. The reviews are horrible but we had already paid for the room. One of the reviews mentioned bed bugs and that’s what got me. Having had bed bugs for a time at a kid, I knew what to look for and how to spot signs for them. Before we brought anything into the room, I checked everywhere. We didn’t set anything down or tough anything until I knew it was safe. To our surprise, it was clean. We stayed for two nights with no problems. It was easily the smallest hotel room me or my husband had ever seen but for just us two for a couple nights, it worked. Definitely recommend bringing shower sandals though :) also, try Bandera Tacos. Easily some of the tastiest tacos ever.…
Pretty unimaginable how disgusting this building is. First impression as you walk in the check in area: you're greeted with a pervasive odor of rotting food. Worse is the customer service with complete disregard for welcoming hospitality. The room smelled horrible. Oddly there was a rather large and loud electric air circulator (circa 1970s) on the night stand, which seemed to only recirculate stale cigarette odor gathered over the years. After about 45 minutes, our clothes, luggage, and dog smelled like cigarettes. Other issues include a loose sink handle ready to fall off, a toilet which barely flushed, and a TV with severe dead pixels. Ice machine not working. Most concerning was the severe body itching both my partner and I felt about 30 minutes after lying down for the night. We left immediately and got another hotel. Based off of the horrific reviews and clearly negligent customer service, I didn't expect a refund, and didn't receive one, after discussing the experience with the manager/owner. She was unapologetic, didn't listen, and was ultimately not accommodating. What a complete and utter disgrace.…
we were with a large group motorcycling thru the area. we arrived later then the first group at about 2:30pm. no one is in the office, she finally arrives and tells me very rudely that she does not have our reservation, so i get my paperwork. well all the sudden she has a room and ' i am lucky". we get our room and it is clean but tiny and parking is really bad. You have to ask for everything ( hairdryer, shampoo) even our shower head did not work we had to call down to get that resolved. She was rude to everyone in our group.
This is by far the worst hotel I've ever been to and I travel for business all over the world. I thought it would be nice for the wife and me to stay on route 66. When we got to the hotel it was like running an obstacle course past the frat boys prostitutes and drug dealers to get to the office. Finally, we got the keys and got to the room. We took one step inside and said to each other nope. The train going by was rattling the walls. The room smelled musty and looked as if they just took down the crime scene tape from the overdose the night before. Again, stay in your car. Under a bridge, anywhere else but here. We went to the Hilton.
