We checked in about 3 p.m. on 3/10 after skiing at the Snowbowl. The host took 10% off the rate when I showed my AARP discount card. We had no overly long waits for the elevator during our stay which we used often since we were in room 429. It surprised us when the front desk called on the room phone about half an hour after we checked-in just to see if everything was okay. That was a nice touch.
The room itself was clean, and had a good sink and shower with plenty of hot water. It was my fault the room was too hot at night as I just adjusted the wall thermostat and not the heater below the window as well. The Flat screen TV in the room worked well. Lighting was good in the room too. The bed was comfortable and not overly soft or firm, with plenty of good pillows. Our room was quiet as we did not hear any guests in the hallway, or in the rooms next door though they may a have been unoccupied.
We used the exercise room on the first floor. Equipment there is fairly new. The elliptical I used operated as expected. They had three ellipticals, a weight machine, a bench, and a nice selection of racked dumb bells, and eight exercise balls of varied weights. There are a few flat screen TV’s here. The one I used with the remote worked just fine. Both towels and hand wipes were available as well. Water and cups were available too.
The breakfast in the lobby area was good. There was enough seating at tables so that no one appeared to be waiting. I had some cereal with milk, tea, orange juice and banana. All was fresh. Bagels, muffins, eggs and bacon were available as well. I saw a hotel employee restocking the fruit basket with more bananas so they do try to keep up with demand.
Overall, we had a pleasant one-night stay at the Inn.

Stayed here for one night on a road trip (via Grand Canyon) from the West Coast to the Midwest. Although i am sure people stay here for longer, most of the time I tend to use hotels such as these as one-nighters and so I want them to be clean, easy to check in and out of, convenient for the highway and comfortable. This hotel fits the bill well and we arrived around 930pm and checked out around 730am the next day.

The hotel is pretty easy to find and close to a number of food options. We drove here after sunset at the Grand Canyon, a drive of ah hour and a half or so. Check in was easy and we were provided with keys and a small bottle of hand sanitizer that was thoughtful during these times. The check in associate was very friendly and helpful and we were quickly on our way to our room.

The room was perfectly fine. A little compact with two queen beds (which were very comfortable) and we had a good nights sleep. There was an in-room air conditioner that was rather loud, although very successful in cooling the room. This was actually unnecessary as it was a cool AZ night. However the unit refused to respond to the "off" button. Fortunately we were able to unplug it and all was well.

The bathroom was an unusual design in our room with double doors that didn't close perfectly in our room but this was no big deal. Although it is a standard feature of hotel rooms statewide, but I very much dislike showers over bath tubs since the tubs in question are almost invariably shallow and not really functional to soak in, but they represent an inconvenience in having to be stepped into and out of and I find a wet shower curtain hemming me in rather unpleasant. This is more of a rant about the general state of things in the States but I wish hotels would simply either put in full sized, deep tubs or else just go with a walk in shower. Still, all was clean and there were plenty of towels etc.

A coffee machine was provided in the room with individually wrapped items which is good in COVID times - some hotels have dispensed with this and it is nice to get going in the morning. There is breakfast offered here but since I don't eat breakfast I can't comment on that aspect.

All in all I would definitely stay here again. As I mentioned it ticks all the boxes and the staff are very friendly, at least judging by my minimal interaction with them.

Stayed here dozens of times on road trips to Mom, and always have my dogs. This is a big LQ, refreshed a year or 2 ago. The first floor rooms all have hard flooring which look nice, but the floors reveal how dirty they really are. One stroll across the room barefoot was eye opening. As it’s an older property the sound proofing seems dated as well, try to stay on the top floor. The location is great, a little off the main drag through town so minimal traffic noise. I’d stay again but might try the new LQ in hope if a quieter stay.

This company has gotten so cheap they no longer clean the rooms on a daily basis. If you want a quality experience, stay somewhere else. When asked to have the room cleaned they said it was my fault the room wasn't clean and I would have to clean it myself.

The overall appearance of this La Quinta is pleasing. But there were several things we did not like. The amenities were sadly lacking. If you need and/or expect shampoo, conditioner and lotion, you will be disappointed. The only thing in the bathroom was one small bottle of shampoo/conditioner. And you better conserve on toilet paper because there was only a partial roll. The breakfast was another thing. Because of Covid 19, breakfast consisted (in a brown bag) of a half cup of canned peaches, a five ounce can of orange juice, and a muffin. That was it. And lastly, if you are a dog lover (especially big dogs) you will like this place. There were dogs everywhere - in the hallways, in the elevator, and all over in the parking lot. It goes without saying, they were in the rooms as well. I know pets are accepted here, but we couldn't turn around without having to watch out for dogs. On a positive note, the beds were comfortable and it is located in a pretty place.

Rooms were fine, but service was terrible. Breakfast was scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. and nothing was ready at that time. Even the fridge with yogurt was locked. As roughly 30 hungry guests looked on, the staff were engaged in some sort of 15-minute workshop on how to run the ridiculous automated pancake machine. By 7:10 or so, they decided to finally bring out stale bagels, coffee, and bananas. Staff rolled their eyes whenever anyone asked for something. Then, at 9 a.m. we tried to take our kids to the pool, which was closed because the maintenance person was cleaning it. If you have a family with kids who want to do anything before 10 a.m., go somewhere else. Our stay was a frustrating experience, and what made it worse is that the staff didn’t seem to care.

My wife and I had to drive back to Ohio from California during the Coronavirus Crisis. We needed 3 nights on the road and were concerned about hotel stays. The Flagstaff LQ was perfect. Spotless clean and sanitized to our satisfaction -- but we still wiped down all surfaces with disinfectant and brought our own pillows and pillowcases. Of course, the typical LQ breakfast was not permitted to be served at this time. We felt safe and secure there.

We stayed here 5 nights while on vacation to northern Arizona. We scored a great deal on Booking and got a King Suite, which was perfect because we were travelling with our pets. It is definitely a pet-friendly hotel. There were pet areas at each corner of the building and the staff always respected our "do not disturb" signs. The suite was huge, plenty of room for the pets to wander around. The bed was super comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was much better than we expected; scrambled eggs, sausage/bacon, waffles, bagels, etc. every morning. Our room overlooked the breakfast area which was incredibly loud after about 7am. Thankfully, we were there for exploring and were always up early anyway. Nice heated outdoor pool though we never used it. The staff was really incredible the whole trip. Very friendly and informative. Highly recommend. Will be on the lookout for La Quinta Inns on future vacations.

I stayed at this hotel for one night on a family road trip to California. It definitely surpassed our expectations, especially considering that it costs less than other similar hotels! The rooms were very clean, and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is tucked about a block off of the main road, so the parking situation felt very secure, especially given the proximity to the interstate. The free breakfast was the standard chain hotel offerings (waffles, eggs, yogurt, bananas, oranges, breads, etc.), but it at least gave us something to start our day. We didn't like that the bathroom doors (little double French doors) didn't lock for privacy from our little children. This will be where we stay every time we pass through Flagstaff from now on!

The room was very clean and update which automatically makes our stay here more enjoyable. They whole place has been recently updated. The only complaint is that we stayed for 5 days and during that time not once did a housekeeper come in to tidy up, grab garbage, bring fresh towels or make sure we were stocked with what we needed. We had to go down to the front desk a few times to get towels, toilet paper, a laundry bag. Not a big deal, but while on vacation it would have been nice to come back to a room where the bathroom was freshly stocked and maybe even the beds made or garbage cans empty.

Yes ! Cats are welcome too! I have this app you might be interested in! It’s called “BringFido”. You type in your destination and brings up all hotels/motels that are pet friendly! You will need to look close because some are not cat friendly tho! Our daughter travels a lot with her two cats , and she has found that almost all La Quintas welcome cats! Good luck!
