I must say, I was a bit skeptical when my husband selected this hotel for a one night's stay. You wouldn't expect exceptional lodging in a small Kansas town. When I called to make the reservation, a super nice guy answered and got us set up. I wasn't sure what to expect for a small town hotel, but I was...

A charming little get away nestled in downtown Cottonwood Falls. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, and the best steak in Kansas is right downstairs. A sweet reprieve from the hustle of a large city.

Wonderful old (1882) hotel in a small, charming Flint Hills town. Old, but still modern with ten spacious rooms and a great restaurant. A bit on the pricey side, but you're paying something for the experience. Close to the Prairie Grass National Preserve and the historic Z Bar Ranch. A great overnight trip from Kansa City, Wichita, etc.

Stayed two nights over a Friday and Saturday for Memorial Day in the Z-Bar suite. The room was quite spacious and very comfortable. The bed was nice and the decor matched the rustic atmosphere. The shower in the bathroom is a bit odd shaped and may not work for visitors who may have issues with mobility (my 68 yo mother...

Thank you for your review of the Grand Central Hotel and Grill. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. Fortunately, we have two downstairs rooms with two queen beds each for those that do not want to climb stairs or have mobility issues. One is, in fact, totally accessible for those with disabilities - from mobility...

I am very happy that this hotel exists where it does and the quality it possesses. I had a death in the family and required relatives to all arrive at different times and directons. They obliged and all luggage was handled by local high school kids that were excited about having a job in their home town. It is a...

I had never been here before. We stopped for peach cobbler and ice cream. Yummy stuff. They were ready for our large group and got everyone served at a reasonable time. Then we walked outside to look at the courthouse and buildings around there. It was so fun.

I have stayed here a few times and like the place. It is a nice place. The rooms I have been in are very large and comfortable. The bathrooms are a fair size and will appointed and clean. The place has a cowboy feel that fits in great in Cottonwood Falls. The only drawback is what they call breakfast. I...

I appreciate your comments. I am sorry that you didn't think the breakfast was adequate. With over twenty years of offering French toast, fruit, cereals, several breads, bagels, muffins, several juices choices, and, of course, coffee and tea, complimentary, I am reluctant to start offering a full breakfast at an additional cost. The extra staff would require a charge for...

We have stayed at this hotel many times--often when we have gone to the Symphony in the Flint Hills. It is just an excellent hotel. We are from Kansas City and this is a real treat. The restaurant is a casual upscale type restaurant that compares favorably with the upscale casual restaurants in Kansas City. The hotel and the rooms...

A lovely, charming and unique hotel in the beautiful Flint Hills of Kansas. The 19th century building oozes history from every brick and the oak accents are masterful. The ambience is wonderful, the settings quiet and far from urban distractions. Rooms are comfortable ... though not quite as elegant as the rest of the hotel, but clean and well furnished...

Thank you very much for your thoughts and comments. It is always refreshing to know how guests feel and take the time to express their feelings. Chase County is known for people getting off the beaten path. It is nice to know you felt that while here. Again, thank you.

We have enjoyed going to the Grand Central Hotel for many years. Saturday, February 13th we went there with four other friends for a Valentine dinner. It's still a beautiful facility, but that's where it ended in having the same quality experience that we've had in the past. The menu was very limited since they had a select list for...
