We really enjoyed our stay at the Rough Riders Hotel, it has been beautifully restored. Friendly receptionist, good size room and very clean. The price didn't include breakfast so we had this at the Cowboy Café around the corner. Everything in Medora is within walking distance and you are right at the entrance of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

If your idea of a good hotel is a comfortable night's sleep, skip this place. I always set a comfortable temperature for my room and have the fan run continuously to drown out noisy neighbors and traffic. Not possible at the Rough Riders Hotel. The air is centrally controlled. With a roar the air conditioner wakes me up and pushes...

We drove from Custer South Dakota so it was a long day. There was no restaurant open yet for the season. Fortunately we had some snacks. Our room was very nicely furnished. The "Teddy" bear on the bed was a cute touch. We slept great. In the morning we were provided with Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches and juice in a...

This building was under renovation when I last visited in 2009. The lobby is stunning with fireplaces couches and books inviting you to relax. Lovely front porch for sitting. Located in the middle of town so easy to walk around. Room was comfortable and nicely decorated. Only negative was we did not see Teddy Roosevelts ghost.

Very comfortable hotel with a very attractive lobby, with a fireplace and working library off to the side. Excellent location -- good starting point to explore the town, with its interesting book store and souvenir shops. And the restaurant is first-rate. Highly recommended as your headquarters for visiting the Theodore Roosevelt National Park and getting to know the interesting history...

The Rough Rider motel is centrally located in Medora, ND with easy access to the Roosevelt National Park. It is upscale and on the expensive side for its remote location. No microwave in the room. The staff was not real friendly unless you were part of the convention that was at the hotel. The hotel was clean. A small parking...

The hotel is clean and updated with a good view of the Badlands. The price is a little high for an area with little attractions. The staff are not overly friendly which I found unusual for an establishment in such a small town. We ate at the attached restaurant, Theodore's, for breakfast which was expensive and not really good. Because...

Pricey kinda upscale place... can't review it a bunch...used it as a crash pad...room was tight w/ no microwave...bathroom was decent but no bathtub...limited facility parking and street parking is available in abundance...They do offer AAA discount and that's not widely advertised.

Lovely western motel, that's why the not sure in modern. 4 circles rather than 5 because I am a tub person and no tubs. Nice large shower but the AC vent in our bathroom was directly over the opening to the shower. Brrrr

The hotel was very clean and new feeling. The rooms were fresh feeling, and very well appointed with furniture. The price was very steep, in my opinion, especially without having a breakfast included in the morning.
