I came across the Attwater almost a year ago when I was searching for a honeymoon hotel in Newport. Had I not fallen in love with the Attwater online, we may have gone elsewhere for our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived it was everything we thought it would be. The hotel is beautiful, adorable and very well maintained. We...

I spent three nights at The Attwater while visiting Newport for the first time. Centrally located, it's a great base from which to walk to the harbor, First Beach and the Cliff Walk, and the mansion district. My room, in the "urban beach house," was immaculate and comfortable, and the shower was spectacular. I looked forward to the breakfast every...

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights for the first weekend in June. Based on these reviews and the website, we had high expectations for this boutique hotel. For what we paid (almost $800 for 2 nights), I expected this hotel to be better. The decor is contemporary and I think that this trendy decor has other guests...

We appreciate your candid feedback and understand that noise at our renovated (but historic) property can be an issue at times. Our onsite staff always can be reached after hours and we apologize you didn't feel comfortable ringing the buzzer at the desk or calling the after-hours number for assistance. Our decor, our wonderful plush beds and bath amenities, Apple...

Well run, nicely furnished, had everything we needed, and we didn't want anything else. I wouldn't call it luxury, more like comfy home style. I think the room was price properly. Maybe my wife an I are part of a demographic that has become mainstream now. I have to figure if a chain is developing a property like this, then...

Nice, modern hotel on a quiet street but also in the heart of Newport. The rooms are smallish, but well-done. What distinguishes the hotel are the breakfasts. If you're in to the typical Holiday Inn breakfast of terrible-but-plentiful eggs, sausage, and bread, this is NOT the hotel for you. The breakfasts and small and homemade....cheddar chive biscuits, banana bread, pecan...

The rooms are not super-luxury, but they are fashionably furnished - clean and crisp. The breakfast buffet is presented beautifully with a wide range of options. Built within an old Hofbräuhaus turned jazz club/hotels, the hotel is well located next to the art museum and is within an easy drive to the main commercial district.

After a hectic 5 days in New York, we 4 Kiwis were looking for a relaxing and comfortable 3 days in Newport. The Attwater is perfect - we weren't after fussy Victorian over-stuffed décor, and the modern and clean seaside atmosphere and furnishings hit the spot. We usually stay in apartments and the Urban Beach House suites were almost like...

The suite we took was marvelous, starting with the bed, then the in wall fireside (..), the Espresso machine ... The breakfast was rich, Gluten free for the needed and lots of small original dishes. Boutique.

When I was searching for a hotel in Newport there was either way over our budget or victorian-esque decorated Inns. The Atwater was the perfect in-between offering affordable rates and a contemporary seaside vibe. Our room felt more like renting an apartment than a hotel which made it cozy. The location is perfect, everywhere you want to get to is...

This boutique guest house off the beaten track has some quirky charm and stylish interior. We stayed in the guest cottage next door to the main hotel. The room was definitely not your standard Sheraton. The floor plan made the room a bit narrow and a bit crowded, but the sitting area was separate from the bedroom, which was nice....
