We stayed for one night during a busy holiday weekend and was completely disappointed. As soon as we entered the hotel we were faced with the tacky murals and dirty walls. The "upgraded" room we were given was on the third floor which meant we had to climb up 3 flights of badly stained, filthy carpet. Imagine hundreds of people...

We stayed here for one night last weekend. My wife and I have traveled all over the world and stayed in the full gamut of hotels from awful hostels (in our younger years) to five star hotels varying from Chateaux and Relais properties to Rosewood Group resorts. I have never stayed in a hotel room that was more out of...

I stayed in the Admiral Farragut Inn with my elderly mother recently. We were both very happy with this historic old Inn and with the excellent service we got. The location is excellent - walking distance to the waterfront shops and right in the middle of the historic area of Newport. And we had plenty of room - I do...

To start we were booked into the Melville inn next door, but when shown our room it was tiny and dark, no TV or space, bare wires hanging from ceiling, we were on 16 day road trip with plenty of luggage and would have been impossible for our 2 suitcases, we complained and was changed to Admiral farragut. I so...

We went to the Admiral Farragut Inn on our honeymoon nearly 20 years ago. It was small then and still small after all these years. It is quaint, and the owners are nice but the Inn is really too small for EXTENDED comfort and amenities. It is an old inn and although the furnishings are new and very nice and...

We had a room on the top floor, it was small but comfortable for two people. It had a rustic feel and the sailing theme was a nice touch of New England. The owner Rick was friendly and made things easy. The breakfast was simple but all you could ask for, including fresh squeezed orange juice. We had the mid-week...

Just returned from a two night stay at the Admiral Farragut Inn. This was our second stay at one of owner Rick Farrick's "Inns of Newport" properties this summer. Two months ago we stayed next door at the Cleveland House. We booked a king room with jacuzzi which went for the high season weekend price of $900 including tax. The...

After reading the other reviews I was wondering if people did any shopping around. It's all supply and demand. I'm sure you will feel this is expensive if you try to book a room on a Friday or Saturday mid summer. However, you'll find the same situation at places in the area. The proprietor is verry friendly and willing to...

First the good news: the breakfast was awesome and very delicious! But I can only give three points because the room was too little for so much money! The room was clean, but we only had one (!) little window and not enough space for our 2 bags. For 200 Dollars, this is really too much money for too little...

Of course I had read the reviews so I was not expecting the freezing cold ground floor room, looking out over the parking lot and security lights all night. More like the motel in Psycho! The bed only had one reading light, impossible for a couple, the tiniest bathroom you have ever seen and I live in NYC where bathrooms...
