The Mai Tai beach bar was recommended as a great way to sample Waikiki beach. And I totally agree, we dropped by for one quick Mai Tai and ended up have two slow Mai Tai's.
Great ambiance, great bar staff, fantastic people watching. After checking...More

A grand old dame let down badly by the service and a lot of small easily fixed details.

Normally the local tradewinds will keep the air around the rest of the islands including Oahu clear from the volcanic air being produced on Hawaii island. The eruption is occurring in an isolated area on Hawaii island which is 50 min by plane from Oahu.At this time it is not affecting any of the other Hawaiian islands as well as most of Hawaii island other than at the small isolated area where it is currently erupting.
