The room was a good size with 2 double beds and clean and quiet. The pool is small but a short walk down the beach provided the water we required. Dining at Dukes is always busy and we found the Hula restaurant upstairs a better option and less hectic however slightly more expensive.
We went to the Blue Note bar in the hotel for a show which was also amazing. The Outrigger Beach resort is central to everything and only a short walk to various quality shopping malls and also boutique shops. The activities desk were also helpful booking activities or making recommendations as well. There are washing machines and dryers but only half of them were working so had to wait. My only issue was the hotel lacked a business room where I could login and do some printing and scanning. This has to be done via reception. Otherwise we would happily stay here again.

As for the club level, you would have to evaluate your personal desires. I enjoyed that we could sit outside and have breakfast looking at the ocean with no rush. Breakfast foods were adequate but nothing special. Everyday the choices were close to the same. Evening happy hour offered a few cocktail choices (not an open bar) and a hand full of beers. The choices were adequate but if you have specific preferences you are out of luck. You can sit on the patio and watch the nightly band with a great view. Food choices were good. One night coconut shrimp was on the menu, we were so full from appetizers that we ended up canceling dinner reservations. I would recommend a later dinner reservations if you are going to take advantage of the happy hour. Side note- you could easily eat enough food to make it your dinner every night. There were 3-4 hot choices, fruit, salad, & soups each night.

We've always kind of wondered about the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort (not a brand name we recognized, so we were hesitant to stay here) - we have been here for food and drinks since we started visiting the area, but only just now got around to biting the bullet and trying it out as a place to stay.
Wow, are we glad that we did. Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort had none of the issues of the other hotels - it wasn't inexpensive (of course; look where it's located), but it hit the mark for us. Great and comfy space in our ocean-view balcony room - not fancy or updated, but not dated or creepy. Smashing housekeeping service (bell desk and front desk folks were great, too) with lightning-fast room cleanings and not a thing less than perfect ever. Great amenities Great location. The bed was a comfortably firm foundation BUT had a thick, soft pillowtopper that wasn't great for my back; also, the room could have used more bedding (a supplemental comforter) in this cooler season. No robes or slippers were provided.
We're not talking about anything like a fancy place in Vegas with multiple marble bathrooms, but the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort gave us our best stay in all of our trips to Waikiki. (And I understand they're planning an update in 2025.) We plan to return.
The staff was friendly, and the service was good overall. However, the hotel itself feels a bit old and worn down. The rooms are outdated and could use a deep clean—they were quite dusty during our stay.
We traveled with kids, and while it was nice being on the beach, we ended up going to the beach at the beginning of the Waikiki strip, near the Outrigger Reef and Hilton. Those beaches were much better—cleaner, wider, and more family-friendly.
If you’re looking for a lively location and don’t mind the crowds, this is a good choice. However, if you prefer a nicer beach experience, especially with kids, I’d recommend staying closer to the start of the strip.
