What a wonderful stay. I stayed at the Halekulani during the Christmas break, and I can honestly say I enjoyed my stay at LXR far more. The service is exemplary. The staff is well-trained and highly attentive. The bed was more comfortable than the Halekulani, and the breakfast was incredible! Oh my, those pancakes were some of the best I've eaten. The location is unbeatable, and the price point is reasonable for the quality of accommodations and service. If you're looking for 5-star accommodations in a prime location, try LXR Waikiki; my next pick would be Ritz-Carlton if you’re willing to spend more. The only recommendation I have is for the resort to update its fitness center. With an updated fitness studio, sauna, or spa, they'll be the top resort in the area! -Ciara Stanton

Hotel's Favourite
The room was very large and nicely appointed with a couch and plenty of space as well as a kitchenette. All marble bath with double sinks. Great location. Drawback is size of the pool, not really good for kids except for a toddler section. Breakfast was excellent and quite impressive. They had fresh berries daily and wide assortment of international items. Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff were great. Will be converted to a Hilton this month, so remains to be seen if breakfast quality will be maintained.

Our family stayed at Trump Waikiki at the end of 2022 because of the amazing reviews as it is rated the #1 hotel in all of Oahu. Me and my wife have travelled all over the world, but the service and experience at Trump Waikiki was second to none. We decided to return for our 7th anniversary with our 3 young children this past March, 2024. We were surprised to hear that the hotel was recently taken over by Hilton under the luxury LXR brand. We did not know what to expect, but were kindly reassured by the office manager, Ms. Suzuki, that we will come to expect the same extraordinary level of service and luxury experience. Our suite was amazing, with a beautiful view of Waikiki beach and persecco and a fresh fruit plate for our wedding celebration. Our kids loved the room and hotel, and already wish to come back. Again, the service was impeccable, from the valet, to the front desk to the restaurant staff, and concierge who constantly checked-in on our experience and went above and beyond how they could make our stay pleasant. I can confidently stay that the rebranding has continued to establish Ka La'i LXR as the #1 hotel in all of Oahu. Kudos to the management and staff who are clearly committed to maintaining their already stellar reputation. We will definitely be back! Mahalo!

My children and I stayed at Trump Waikiki in December and then again in January when we laid over for 3 days each time on the way to Australia. The hotel is incredible, the staff goes above and beyond. The rooms are beautiful and large. Kitchen and W/D options in some rooms; but even the smaller room we had the second stay had a kitchenette. The pool was heated and had a separate hot tub. Check out Lahaina shaved ice next door, cut through the parking lot/sidewalk. The room service, and restaurant onsite, the food was delicious. The only negative about our stay, was Dennis the server at the breakfast buffet. He was SO rude to my children and I. It wasn’t a coincidence, when we came back to the hotel 2 weeks later for our second stay, we groaned when they sat us in Dennis’s section again. He would acknowledge us, never fill water or juice, or clear plates we had to do that ourselves. It was bizarre because I noticed he was so nice to other tables from his same culture. He was blatantly rude. There is an automatic 18% gratuity in closed in the breakfast buffet, I’m guessing that’s why he does not care whether he is rude or does his job at all. I’m not sure why he is working at this hotel, he really needs to go. He did everything possible to make us feel unwelcome and that we were inconveniencing him by being at the breakfast buffet.

Room Tip: Avoid Dennis the server at the breakfast buffet. Two separate stays weeks apart and he was awful...

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. From the moment we were greeted and checked in until the last interaction with the valet when leaving, all the staff just seemed really friendly and helpful. Maybe it's the combination of the 4-star hotel concept with the spirit of aloha, but it was more endearing than I expected from past experiences with this class of hotel. Our room was a 2br suite with full kitchen and washer/dryer. Everything was in good shape, and despite that it was "city view", it nevertheless had a pretty great view of the ocean from the living room and lanai.

Just after reserving at this hotel, we learned that the property was in the process of changing hands, and was now a Hilton. So we weren’t quite sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised. We had a very nice unit with separate bedroom, full kitchen and even a washer and dryer. The service here is impeccable, discreet and mostly behind the scenes. You won’t see housekeeping carts, hear loud knocks or “housekeeping!!“ announcements. In fact, everyone we encountered was extremely courteous and pleasant. The breakfast buffet is outstanding, and served on an outdoor terrace, protected from sun and wind, and several levels above the hustle and bustle of the streets below. It’s true that the infinity pool is a bit small, which didn’t bother us since we prefer the ocean anyway. Near the pool area you’ll find a nice quiet area where you can relax on shaded lounge chairs. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to install one - better two - handles by the bath tub. We had a deep soaking tub that doubled as a shower since there was no separate shower stall. The bathroom is all glas and marble, and climbing in and out of that tub with nothing to hold on to was tricky.

The hotel is very nice. While we stayed the pool area was under renovation and when I brought this to the attention of the staff we were on honeymoon they really did us a favor and upgraded us to a suite - with an ocean view. Huge suite and a full kitchen and laundry as well en-suite as well made this a super nice stay for our very special occasion. Just a few minutes from the beach. We also ate at the breakfast buffet each morning, which was excellent. We also ate at the restaurant for dinner which I will review separately but it was very nice as well. The staff really works hard to make sure you enjoy your stay. Would not hesitate to stay there again if given the opportunity.

The front desk is incredibly helpful. Rooms are very clean, rooms over looking to the beach are beautiful and location is outstanding. Easy walk to the beach, restaurants and shopping. One of the best family vacations ever. I would go back in a heart beat.

All the staff members were friendly and made us feel very welcome. Even the housekeeping staff in the evening went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed for a comfortable rest. They took good care of us from the lobby to the checkout. The room condition was naturally excellent, and thanks to the staff's high level of service-mindedness, we could have a comfortable family trip. It was so impressive that we would like to visit again next time
