This is paradise, after all.
I've stayed here twice now (January 2023 and August 2022) and I must say it's been a great pleasure. Customer service is phenomenal! I haven't had one complaint. Everyone treats you kind and they are so happy to serve you. This hotel is very clean and I love the big rooms and kitchen (we stay in a suite) - it's got everything you need and it feels like home. It's also not crowded unlike other hotels I've stayed at in Waikiki. Also, it's located in a quiet area (no homeless and much partying). The views are amazing as well. It's centrally located close to shopping and restaurants and a very short walk to the beach. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!!! You will not regret it.
Q: Where can you find a room that will sleep 5 people, in a convenient part of Waikiki, is rated #1 on Tripadvisor for the best hotel in Waikiki, with 5-star service, ocean view w/ dual balconies and a separate room for the in-laws? How about free valet parking, no resort fees, early 12 PM check in and late 6 PM check out for Kama'aina (locals)? A: You're looking at it! It was difficult to fit all of these criteria into our budget and what we were looking for. It was either book two separate rooms and pay more, or stay here. Although the Trump line is not associated with budget, compared to booking separate rooms WITHOUT all of the perks above, it would have come out way more expensive. This was actually a deal, believe it or not. DETAILS: POOL: You're wondering why I'm writing about the pool first; it's because it seems to be one of the complaints of guests calling it small, and I have no idea why this is a problem. It is the most luxurious pool I've ever soaked in, and small and classy is better than big and brassy! Looking out over the infinity edge, I can see two other hotel's pools and they are a LOT larger but filled with rowdy drunk people and inflatables. Would you rather have a classy pool, or a larger pool in a less fancy setting? I soaked in the pool in the day, and at night (simply magical)! If you get cold, there's a separate jacuzzi. There's poolside cocktail and food service but I didn't use those. Next time I stay here, I'll try to time it with the full moon so I can soak under the moonbeams. ROOM: Mind blown! We had a suite with one full bedroom, a den and living room, both with pull-out beds, 1120 sq ft, ocean view w/ 2 balconies, 2 full bathrooms, a fully-stocked kitchen (dishes, high-end bar glasses, utensils, knives, 12 cup coffee maker, full sized rice cooker!, wine chiller, pots/pans), microwave, fridge, dishwasher, ovens (Subzero, Wolf, Bosch, Miele). The bathrooms had really nice toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, bar soap, bath gel, bath salts, loofah, cotton swabs, make up pads, hair tie and shower cap, nail files). The room decor all tastefully done in creams, dark and light wood tones, very clean as well. The trashcans were even made of leather! Impressive! The hotel gave you complimentary hotel slippers you could walk around in, as well as Eco water bottles; heavy bath robes for each guest, tons of fluffy clean towels and twice daily housekeeping. Very quiet, we didn't hear a thing but we also got a room on the side of the elevators separated from other rooms. Four elevators, the fastest elevators we've ever been in...totally insane! SERVICE: Minds blown again!! This is 5-star service on steroids. I have never heard, in my life of frequenting hotels all across the globe, someone actually SMILING over the phone!! Keiko and Ryuko cheerfully greeted me daily when I called to ask for bottled water (complimentary) or had questions. Housekeeping personnel actually smiling and greeting us warmly was also surprising. Front desk check in and check out, all wonderful! Valet, also great! Twice daily housekeeping, amazing!! FOOD: Breakfast at the In-Yo Cafe was not very impressive. It was pricey so the next day we walked over to Duke's Waikiki for buffet breakfast (read my reviews for both). Eggs and Things around the corner but too many people. Dinner at BLT Steakhouse burned a hole into our 401K but my husband said it was the best steak ever (see my review on this one as well). The in-room dining menu seemed impressive, but we didn't use it. You can also walk about 2 short blocks to ABC Stores to get cheap wine and food, and Dole Whip! Giovanni Pastrami is also in the short walk away for take-out food and pizza (we loved the pizza). CONVENIENT: ABC Stores, restaurants, boutique shops, Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, International Marketplace all within walking distance. The beach is right across the street, as is the Army Museum, if you're into history. Drop into Lewer's Lounge at the Halekulani for cocktails/piano music in the evening, but dress nice for that. If you want to drive over to Ala Moana Shopping Center for all-day shopping, it's about a 5 minute drive away. OTHER: if you're a bird watcher, you're in for a treat if you have a room with the ocean view balcony. Swarms of white tern and Indian Ringneck Parakeets fly in flocks over the trees below and mingle with the pigeons and the lone chicken pecking for food in the grass by the Army Museum. You can bring your dog with you for $50 more a night, now how many hotels let you do that? Need a crib for your kid? No problem! If walking to other restaurants, I suggest walking along the beach-side and avoid walking around the hotel on the Ewa (west) side; it wasn't as nice and there was a creepy man checking us out. PRICE: Your mileage may vary. We locked in at $666 a night (not joking) for local Kama'aina rate and now the rate is $987 for the same room. RETURN FACTOR: 120% YES.…
Amazing hotel! Very helpfull and always smiling hotel team! They care of us better like private butlers at luxury resorts. What we get there is beyond of our expectations! Good job Trump Team! We really appreciate it! Thank You so much for great time!
I’d give 4.7 out of 5. The carpets and fabric sofa was a bit worn out, but it was very clean, service was impeccable and staffs were kind from valet to the front desk. When I was waiting in my rental car for my parents in the drop-off area, one of the staffs actually handed me two bottles of cold water (I’m not sure if he knew I was staying there but I thought it was such a nice gesture.) I stayed in a deluxe room with ocean view. The lanai was large enough so three adults could have breakfast and dinner there when we wanted. We were often out in the lanai enjoying the view. I originally planned to book Ritz Carlton residences, but it was my parents’ first time in Waikiki. I searched up for the ocean view from their rooms…the oceans looked too small. From Trump, the beach was just three minutes away and the view was much better. I spent the last night at Halepuna and while it was just as close to the beach as Trump, the view was obstructed left and right. (At Trump, the view was obstructed on the left but not right. Refer to my photo. I’ll post the view from halepuna in my review for that property). The lobby at Trump is beautiful but not as wide and airy as it looks in the website. As for location, it was very convenient although it was about 20 minutes from Moana surfrider and 15 minutes from international market place. But the weather was so perfect I enjoyed the daily walks! The room was roomy and spacious enough for three grown-ups. I’d bring my family here next time. Just one last bit, deluxe rooms do not have washer and dryer. For some reason I thought it did. Apparently washer and dryers are only equipped in larger rooms. Although we never used the stove, full kitchen and plates/utensil were very convenient. I’d recommend this property without hesitation.…
If it were possible to rate this hotel higher than 5 stars, I would. It has an excellent location, great people and management is flawless right down to the small details. It was truly a pleasure to stay here.
All staffs are very kind and nice!! I have asked early check-in but the room is not ready yet. However, they provided courtesy room until the room is ready!! Amazing. Also, they allowed late check-out too. The room was always cleaned and valet parking was so convenient. 5 star rating is not enough. I would like to give them 10 star. Strongly recommend this hotel when you have a chance to visit Oahu.
We stayed in a regular room with a city view and had everything we needed. The room was huge and included a kitchen with a refrigerator, burners, microwave, fully stocked dishes/silverwear/cooking tools. Bathroom was huge. Room was immaculate except for the bench at the end of the bed which was so gross and stained, I had it removed immediately. It was gone within minutes of my call. The facility is immaculate and the food in the restaurants is great. Pool is small, as others have said, but the pool-side service is amazing. The location is perfect, in that it isn't in the middle of the chaos of the big hotels on Waikiki Beach. Quieter. Literally across the street from the beach. Like a 3 minute walk. All good. Would totally stay there again. 4.5 stars for me, but that isn't an option. Not quite 5.0 stars but would pick Trump again over other hotels I saw in the area.…
I simply couldn’t find fault. A 5 star plus hotel where you have a luxury apartment but compromise nothing on the hotel experience. Luxury, location and service! Staff went over and above quick and efficient for even minor asks (ie: a screwdriver). Late checkout was given due to our late flight - right up to when we left! Have stayed at so many 5 stars and this is now right in the top 3. Didn’t expect it to be. We had a 1 bed plus den ocean view. Den has a great bed. There is also a sofa bed lounge (they do a turndown-service). Laundry in unit and 2 bathrooms. Family of 2 adults 3 teenagers we were very comfortable. On-site restaurant was the best meal we had in Waikiki and at happy hour it’s ok priced too. Don’t hesitate you won’t be disappointed!
This was my very first time visiting any Hawaiian island and my second stay at a Trump International Hotel. I loved my stay at the Trump in Vegas so much, that there was no contest as to my decision on where to stay in Oahu. Trump Waikiki was the only place I even considered. The interactions I had with every employee were above average. Everyone spoke English and was more than willing to help with any request. This was the case from prearrival emails about gift cards, adding my Trump card #, having a yoga mat in the room, and making reservations for sunset seating for dinner at Wai'olu Ocean Cuisine. An added win? The emails were written in impeccable English. I loved, loved, loved the way we were treated like VIP's upon arrival. Bags were taken by the bell service. We were greeted and taken to the registration desk, served infused waters, and all the questions about check in, amenities, etc were answered either by the staff or by the letters that were given to us from the hotel. It was helpful to be taken to the elevator to be shown how to get upstairs to our rooms. When the bellman dropped our bags off, he made a point to let us know that the cookies and water bottles were ours. A nice little extra piece of advice, because you never know for sure what is complimentary. Every interaction I had with the hotel staff was a pleasant one and no matter how dumb the question might seem to them, "where is the pool?" they treated my question with the utmost respect and answered with a smile. Even when I inadvertently carried a pile of sand with me from the ocean to my poolside chair [imagine my mortification!], they simply smiled, made light of it, and took care of the sand as though it really was no big deal. We wanted extra bags of regular coffee in the middle of the day? No, problem. Dropped off. Housekeeping service came twice each day. The second service of the day, turn down service, is something you opt in or out of at the time of check in. We chose to opt in. Then one day we wanted to opt out and it was a simple phone call to housekeeping. Towels were fresh, dishes were washed, and the room was always impeccable. A small thing that really adds to feel of luxury? There were not housekeeping carts in the hallways. The carts were wheeled into the rooms so during the day you did not have to try to navigate carts and bags of dirty hotel linens in the hallways. When Jason came to collect our bags at the end of our stay, he took the time to ask us about our stay and our visit to the island. He was so friendly, gave us tips for next time, told us about his family, and definitely went above and beyond. The food was good both at poolside and at Wai'olu. Waitstaff was very adept at determining what items would be acceptable for my dietary restrictions and did this with a smile. The hotel room was clean! This is a giant and amazing comment. There was not one single area of dirty grout or tiles anywhere in the bathroom, not the corners, not at the edge of the tub, nowhere. The water in the tub drained perfectly. There was no damage to paint, no dirty handprints on the walls, no luggage scratches from being bumped up against the wall. The room might as well have been brand new despite having been built roughly 15 years ago. We cooked the majority of our meals and enjoyed the balcony to eat. We saw morning sunrises and evening sunsets. Regardless of the fact that we had a city view standard room, we could see the ocean from our balcony--called a lanai in Hawaii. Small things that could have been better about our room: 1. One of the drawers in the dresser would not stay closed if clothes were put in. The front desk said they would have maintenance fix it during our stay, and I said ok, but there seemed to be some confusion as to my answer and they never came. (My guy seemed to think I said no as well, so I just accepted it as miscommunication.) Hopefully this will be fixed for the next person. 2. We could not find a "privacy please" placard, but other rooms had them on their doors. 3. When we arrived at the room, the kitchen was in impeccable order. Every pot, pan, and dish had a place that made sense. Throughout the stay, the different staff members put things away differently. Every single time they cleaned, the locations were different. This is minor. I mean all the dishes were washed, dried and put away, but that lack of attention to detail between the different staff members is something noticeable in a hotel of this caliber and class. 4. It would have been really, really wonderful if there were places to hang the wet swimsuits. There was only one hook in the bathroom and every day we had wet suits which I imagine is a common thing in an Hawaii beachfront hotel. Where do you put your wet suits? 5. The kitchen cupboards smell musty. Chalk this up to the fact that Hawaii is extremely humid and damp. I'm sure everyone living there has a problem with this. Thoughts about the pool. If you are coming to this hotel because you want a huge swimming pool like you would find at a Vegas resort or at a Walt Disney resort, this is not the place for you. The pool is a beautifully blue tiled, infinity edged pool on the 6th floor of the hotel. It is 4' deep throughout and there is a bench to sit on running along one edge of the pool. This means that I could hold onto the bench, stretch my feet out and easily touch the opposite edge of the pool. I'm 5'8". For our experience, there were always children in the pool with their families and they were throwing pool toys around. This mean that the adults sans children were mostly just hanging out in the water. Everyone seemed to have about 5' of space to their party. It worked, but little swimming happened. The only place that was not clean anywhere in the hotel was looking over the edge of the infinity pool. It appears that every kid that has ever been in the pool has to drop a candy wrapper off the edge. This can easily be missed by simply not lifting yourself up to see over the infinity edge. There is one small spa poolside. It has a timer that can be turned on on the wall mostly opposite the spa. During the hours that wait service manned the pool, this was always done by staff, but after 6pm; the guests did it. If you want a place to sunbathe, work on your computer, read a book, talk to other guests, grab a snack, have "the word's best mai tai" which really was great; the chaises poolside were amazing. As an added touch of class there were towels that specifically fit over each chaise and every time a guest left, a fresh towel was placed on the chaise. The towels are left out for the customers so this could be done after 6pm poolside service ended. Towels for the guests are plentiful and accessible, too. Beach tip: The Trump Hotel is about two blocks to Waikiki Beach. You can stop at the concierge desk for beach towels and reusable Trump Hotel tote bags for your things. The beach is quite rocky and water shoes are a good idea. Want a bit more sand? Ask the concierge desk which way to walk for more sand. At departure we found out that there are sandier areas at Waikiki had we just walked in the appropriate direction. If it were possible to only stay in a Trump hotel everywhere I went, I would do so and whenever I travel to locations where Trump properties are an option? They are my only choice. Hands down. The motto of Trump hotels is never settle and indulgence is definitely part of that. This was not a hotel where you stayed and went, well it was good enough or I'm only sleeping here. It was top of the line and indulgent.…
My family stayed here for 5 nights for the New Year. We stayed here back in Dec 2019 before COVID. A lot of things have changed. They no longer have the wonderful buffet breakfast they had the first time. They do an "ohana" breakfast at the In-Yo cafe. We didn't do that this time and opted to eat breakfast at other places. We stayed in one of their 3-bedroom suites. The view was nice and the room was nice too. The staff is as friendly as last time as well. We only had one time where our car as at the front, but they couldn't find who had the keys. They charged quite a bit more than last time even though they didn't have all the amenities from 3 years ago. They also don't have the beach bags with towels, fruit, and water bottles anymore. I know COVID has hit Hawaii hard, but you'd think at a higher-class hotel they would still keep all the amenities in place. One of the best things about this hotel is that it's convenient to everything in Waikiki and it's just a short walk to the beach. If you are going to stay in Waikiki, this should defintely be on your list.…
