My understanding is the AC opened within the last year. It is a nice remodel, everything looks new. The exercise room is all new equipment with 2 Peletons and plenty of other equipment. We stayed in a king bed with city view (they only have city views). The room had everything I needed with a comfortable bed and pillows, desk, nice TV and good power and USB connections at the bed and desk. A walk in shower with two shower heads. If I had been by myself, it would have been great, but my wife came along, and I had to get up early for some state side meetings. For 2 people it is pretty small. The sink faces into the bed, the toilet and shower have just a sliding door. It was hard for one person to sleep while the other is getting ready. Maybe ask for the double beds I assume that room is a little bigger. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast is overpriced at $35, like most hotels but we did use a long term stay rate (4-nights) that included the breakfast. The area is a business/downtown area. The positive side is you can get to some good restaurants that might be a little more reasonable than the beach area. Would stay here again on a business trip but not for a vacation.

I stayed three days/two nights. Limited "negatives." My procurement training was triggered when the cover of my room key card access fell off, and I noted a bit of damage to the bottom of the room door. Nothing impeding my access or enjoyment, but strange for such a new property to already have things falling off or damaged.
A neutral aspect is location. Easy walking to statues, museums, famous bars, the palace, the State Capitol, and notable attractions. It's a 15-17 minute drive to the mall, beach and main strip. I found the nearby sights to be worthwhile, the valet staff were awesome (friendly, quick, careful), and a rideshare to the surfing legend restaurant and beach was inexpensive and less than 20 minutes each time. Another "eh" aspect is the modern design. The toilet and shower closet door has a gap and the sink overlooks the bed, so there's not much privacy. It didn't bother us, but if you're planning to have multiple people bunking together without intimate familiarity, it could be awkward and disruptive to anyone sleeping in.
Great parts include the warm and attentive staff. From the room cleaners, to the front desk, to the aforementioned valets, everyone was welcoming and helpful. The price was very fair for two nights. The room size was perfect for a couple, and the bed was very comfortable. I highly recommend the hotel for couples. I would stay again and probably do what I did this trip: stay a couple of nights closer to Diamond Head and then a couple of nights at this hotel.

From the minute we hit the front door we felt so welcomed. We had just gotten off the cruise ship and had lots of luggage, knowing we were way early to check in they immediately started moving our luggage to a secure area so we could hit the town. Giving us great directions was the GM Daniel Texeira who along with his great staff made us feel like Family 'ohana! They were having the Grand Opening ceremonies that evening and Daniel invited us to attend the Red Carpet event. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting or just needing a place to relax before or after a Hawaii cruise.

Location is dicey. A lot of homeless people noted close to hotel. Cannot blame the hotel for the neighbourhood however this is not in keeping with the rate paid. $55 for valet parking is especially galling when the vehicle is not parked undercover. My rental car was filthy and covered with bird poop. Staff are generally very friendly and pleasant. Hotel is essentially brand new so everything is fresh and new. Housekeeping is very poor, and is not provided daily. More training needed there. I had to call the front desk daily for missing amenities such as fresh towels, coffee, creamer and cups for the coffee machine. Good air conditioning however very poor sleep quality due to poor insulation. Construction work outside every morning besides Sunday. Truck noise at 3am on one occasion. Noisy guests in the early hours of the morning. No good reason to recommend this facility. Not worthy of the Marriott brand.

The AC Honolulu is my hotel of choice in Honolulu. The staff is excellent and the hotel is very clean and well maintained. The AC front desk crew is very welcoming every visit. They remember me, know of my love of baseball and are very personable. I always feel like I am going to my second home. The housekeeping staff is amazing- the rooms are always very clean, smell fresh and are well maintained. This is the perfect hotel for travelers doing business in downtown honolulu! I look forward to my next trip.

This new boutique hotel is perfectly located to accommodate Honolulu cruise port passengers. It’s a short taxi ride (or reasonable walk if you choose) to the pier. There’s a restaurant on site if desired and outside dining options are within walking distance. Check in and check out were a breeze. Staff member encounters were friendly. I especially want to mention Guest Services Manager Amber, who happily accommodated an unplanned late check out request.
Please know that this is not a resort hotel. Think New York City sized rooms. The rooms were functionally appointed, clean, and modern. Public spaces were well maintained. I would not hesitate to stay here again if I needed a room in the downtown Honolulu area.

We stayed here for three nights during a work trip. The hotel and staff is outstanding! Front desk was extremely friendly and helpful and valet did an awesome job! Our car was always ready immediately after being called. The breakfast buffet delicious andfilling! Both servers were excellent and very helpful. Coffee was always filled and they were happy to get anything you needed. We also had dinner one night, which was also very good. I was hoping to go back one more time For dinner, but we didn’t have enough days. I would definitely choose his hotel again.

This hotel opened December 2023, although the building is older. At the time we booked, it was one of the cheapest available hotels in Honolulu. For the relatively low price, it worked very well. The lobby is quite nice, the rooms are modern, the staff was generally friendly, and the restaurant was surprisingly good. I am glad to see they still put Bibles in the rooms.
Now for the flaws: The bathroom is divided between the toilet & shower behind a sliding glass door and the sink out in the open. This makes it almost impossible to not disturb someone who's sleeping. And there's no fan in the toilet/shower room so anyone you're traveling with will hear *everything*. The floors throughout the room were sticky, which is never a good thing.
For the price, it worked well, but be aware of the challenges.

Will NOT be staying here again only be rid the rudeness I received from one person at the front desk this morning.
Things like this impacts my reviews and decision to stay there ever again. The world of hotels and the competition for business is stiff and the slightest rudeness impact my choice to come back again. In this case this rudeness was uncalled for.
The room was nice but beware the pillows are hard ass a rock. and this room was a two person room and there was only one regular coffee and one decaf...really. And when I went to get coffee I was greeted with coffee control freak unless I had it his way there was no other way without the side way looks.
In a nutshell won't be back to this hotel!!

Fell in love with AC a while back. Truly love the modern design, strange room setups and great amenities. Location of the hotel is good for the business district not so much for beach access. Good staff, great bar and excellent speak easy downstairs.
