This is my second stay at this hotel and my review is overdue.
The front deck staff is very nice, especially Brian. I booked two rooms for a party of 7. Each room has plenty of room for 4 people. The hotel is walking distance to everything that Waikiki has to offer. Each hotel room has a small balcony. Kitchen amenities are good but bring your own oil, salt and pepper. The plus is the rice cooker. Each room comes with 2 complementary small bottles of water. Due to COVID, certain cultural amenities (popcorn on movie nights and ukulele lessons) are no longer available, which is too bad. The pool is not much of a pool but the roof top seating area is really good. I worked out of the roof top in the early mornings, very peaceful. The roof top also provides a good view of the sunrise/sunset. Parking was convenient for a charge of $30 per day. Overall, I have been very happy with this hotel and will definitely stay again.

I recommend hotel management to bring back ukulele lessons (held out doors). I remember this was a popular event pre-COVID.

Thank you your detailed review and loyalty to our hotel. I am so happy to see Brian's name being mentioned for his service. I appreciate your feedback regarding the ukulele lessons. Hopefully, we will have them back with us soon as I understand the owner of the ukulele shop is working to get back onboard with the program. Again, thank you for your review. We hope to have you back with us again in the nearest future. Mahalo Nui Loa and A Hui Hou, Mitch Yokoyama Assistant General Manager

This hotel is rated as a 3 star but should be more like a 5! The rooms are large, modern and spacious.

The bathroom is huge and they actually have fans for ventilation in them! It’s the button with a 5 min timer. Most hotels don’t seem to have this! There’s a TV in the bathroom mirror, bidet toilet to keep you squeaky clean, a separate bathtub with the water coming down the ceiling ( very futuristic). A large refrigerator and separate freezer with ice maker. This was nice to keep our left overs in and to have ice for the beach. There is a dish washer, kitchenette with plates and cups etc. There are so many extras at this hotel. You won’t regret staying here.

They is also have free washer and dryer for use. Extra detergent is free if you ask the front desk. I believe these are on every other floor. This was amazing to have especially going to the beach everyday. Beach towels are also at the front desk.

They gave us a bag full of towels for our 7 day stay and extra shampoo and toiletries. Extra toothbrush and toothpaste was already waiting in the bathroom.

The pool is more like a plunge pool but there is a hot tub and the views are nice. There are cabanas that have large TV’s with a mini fridge, couch’s and bar tables. It’s such a nice area to relax and hang out for the day if you wanted. There is a bar but no food.

The hotel seems very new and is surrounded by many restaurants and shopping. The mall is next door. There’s a Starbucks across the street and an island vintage coffee a couple blocks down. There’s an abc store down stairs and many restaurants within a walking distance. The yard house is down stairs as well as a poke place which was very good.

The beach is a block away. It was crowded even during covid times but very convenient. Oahu just entered phase 3 when I was there in March 2021.

This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in the U.S. You do have to pay for a resort fee and valet parking. But there may be cheaper parking nearby that I’m not aware of. Valet was nice because you could go in and out as your please and they would have your car ready to go for you. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

The location is good: near shopping, restaurants, and a block from the beach and park to walk through. This brings with it traffic which makes exiting the parking garage difficult at times and a noisy room. When we opened the porch doors, we could hear the traffic like being on Vegas strip and there was a lot of white noise from air conditioners on the roof of nearby buildings. Not exactly the beach breeze and waves we’ve heard at other locations. There seemed to be more chain restaurants nearby than local eateries. Used Uber Eats some nights since we’re still not comfortable eating indoors. Did find some good lunch plate spots and malasadas but drove to get there. Oh and parking was $30/day plus tax. Guess it’s the price to pay for convenience.

As a family traveling, we appreciated the fridge and freezer (with ice maker), the free laundry down the hall, and large bathroom. The kitchen was nicely stocked with plates, bowls, glasses, coffee cups, wine glasses, utensils, mixing bowls, toaster, coffee maker, rice maker, and basic cooking utensils. The only restaurant in the building is open only for dinner. Would have been nice to have a breakfast available but we simply bought groceries and did our own each day in the room. The room was a one bedroom apartment but the living space felt small. We didn’t come to Hawaii to hang out in our room, but with a family we were in for the night after dinner. If you don’t close the porch doors just right, it messes with the AC. So once we discovered that and the noise outside, those doors just stayed closed. Having to wash baby bottles and parts everyday, we found the kitchen sink awkward. It’s very deep rather than wide so we had to lean over it so wash and rinse everything.

The pool on the 16th floor is not a swimming pool, just a small dipping pool but again, we didn’t come to Hawaii for the pool. Even with a baby, we decided not to use it.

The staff were always available and friendly from the valet folks, the front desk, bell hop, and maintenance; even staff leaving for the day from the lower lobby. The concierge called us the second day to come claim our gifts but with a family, we were out of the room early and came back after 6pm when they didn’t arrive yet or had already left for the day. We appreciated that they weren’t pushy about coming down.

Overall, we would stay at this hotel again if planning to stay in the city.

The staff was amazing and the room was beyond our expectation. The rooms were clean and we had everything we needed in the room. It was easy to get in contact with the front desk for more sheets or towels. It was really spacious and there wasn’t much street noise so night time was not an issue for us. The kitchen and bathroom was amazing there was a dishwasher and all the tools we needed to cook our own meals. The bathroom was so relaxing with the separate tub and shower and there was a tv in the bathroom.

Hokulani is by far the best hotel in Waikiki! The staffs are all so attentive and polite! The location is perfect as it is so close to the beach and Royal Hawaian Center(lots of shops and restaurants). The hotel and the room is extremely clean and specious! (The living room and the bed room can be shut completely and the bathroom can be accessed from the both rooms! Our two teenage daughters and I could use the large mirror at the same time to get ready in the morning was extremely nice! ) The laundry room is clean and free for all guests. They even provide washing detergent. Parking is $30 a night is very cheap for Waikiki area. The valet parking service is very quick. The housekeepers are also very attentive and polite. The beach towels are provided as many as you would like. There are three TV screens including one on the bathroom mirror! The shower room has rain showers and modern hand held shower. Lots of space to store the clothes. I can just think of all the positives for Hokulani! The room is super quiet. (even the upscale hotels are noisier in Waikiki)
We have stayed many high-end hotels in Waikiki, but Hokulani has became the top favorite hotel for our family!!

Hokulani Waikiki is perhaps one of my favorite family hotels. We had a premier suite that was just under 600 square feet and the design is rather brilliant to maximize the space. Kitchen with microwave, two burners, refrigerator/freezer and all needed kitchen items; large bathroom with separate toilet, large tub and nice shower; separate bedroom with ample closet and drawer space; living room area with a table for two and fold out sofa. TVs in both bedroom and living room. I believe all of the rooms have a lanai. There are complimentary washers and dryers on each floor and the hotel provides laundry soap. Loved the design/layout of the room.

Susan checked us in and she was lovely and very thorough. Though we didn't use these facilities, there is a fitness gym and plunge pool on the top floor. My sister said the cabanas are very nice (first come, first serve and complimentary).

The location of this hotel is excellent - located at the Waikiki Beachwalk. The Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center starts just across the street. You can walk anywhere and everywhere in Waikiki from this location.

Highly recommend!

We just returned from a glorious 8 nights at the Hokulani in Waikiki. We own a timeshare at Grand Islander and tried to come to Hawaii four times this year and all previous trips were canceled. When Hawaii opened up again and Hilton was accepting guests, we didn't hesitate to book a week at Hokulani since Hilton Village is still closed. We had a fabulous stay despite Covid and all the hoops we jumped through to get there. Everyone from the front desk, to the bellmen, to the housekeeping staff and the valet were so friendly and welcoming, it made me think of my first visit to Hawaii 50 years ago...when the islands were just being discovered and hospitality was more than just a nice word. We were thrilled to be back in Waikiki and surfing, diving, kayaking and hiking and Hokulani was the best place to launch from every morning. Our room, on the 15th floor, had a nice view of the ocean and the balony was just big enough for our two chairs to relax in every morning having coffee. The bathroom is spacious, the kitchenette had everything we needed, the frig and freezer were big enough for our groceries and my son loved the huge smart TVs in both rooms. There are washer and dryers down the hall, and while the pool bar and coffee kiosk were not open, it didn't matter...we made a point of walking down to the beach at happy hour each night instead and watching the sunset. Thank you Hokulani for being open and fabulous.

I just finished a wonderful 12-night stay including Christmas and New Year. The suites are well-designed and comfortable. The bathrooms are especially upgraded and include a bidet toilet, nice rain-drop shower with hand wand, soaking tub, and dual vanities with a TV built into the mirror. The kitchenette includes everything you need to make a light meal. The bed is comfortable. There are nice clothes washers and dryers available on every floor.

The property is nicely situated in Waikiki with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. It is ideal for couples and solo travelers.

Besides being an excellent property, the gem here is in the friendly staff. I had excellent cleaning service from housekeeping. The front desk staff are efficient. The parking valets are also outstanding, especially Brandis on the morning and Paul on the evening shifts. The valet is very convenient, just a few steps to the elevator and you are on your way up to your room. Call down and your car will be waiting for you as soon as you exit the elevator.

The hotel is in a great location in the heart of Waikiki with lots of restaurants and shopping close by. Beach access is about 2 blocks away and took about 5 minutes to walk there.
The property is extremely well secured and the staff was very pleasant!
We had a room on the 11th floor so we had an ocean view and little bit of a mountain view even though there are buildings all around.
The room had a kitchenette with a small refrigerator and a separate freezer with ice maker. It also had a microwave, stovetop and dishwasher.
It had a very large bathroom as well with both a shower and a soaking tub.
There was also a guest laundry area with 2 washers & dryers on our floor next to the elevators.
The only negative thing about this hotel is that they are currently renovating the pool so it was not available during our stay and you are unable to access the pools at any of the other Hilton properties in the area so the beach is your only option for water activities.
Overall we really loved this hotel and we will definitely stay there again!

There is a Hawaii state tax of $13.24 per day. The rooms have a full kitchen which includes a kettle. It has an ice maker for your gin and tonic.. Go to the Waikiki market (less than 10 min by foot) and you can get fever tree tonic!
