My husband and I stayed here for our Hawaiian vacation. We booked through an Air B and B. My husband and I stayed in room 510... a corner room, wonderful views. We loved waking up and watching the sunrise. (We're from Chicago and we are 5 hours ahead of Hawaii, so 5am here is 10am Chicago, we never really adjusted to the time change lol). I read previous reviews about the air conditioning in the building not getting extremely cold, so when ours did the same, it wasn't a deal breaker. Our host provided a fan so it was fine. Our room was in walking distance (3 minute walk) of the Waikīkī market and ABC store which sells alcohol, snacks, souvenirs, etc., across the street from a coffee shop and restaurant. The beach is probably a 5 minute walk. Our hosts were wonderful, if we needed them, they were a phone call or an app message away. A few things our room needed, get the ac checked so it can get the room extremely cold not just cool, bigger garbage can for the kitchen, the one provided is perfect for a bathroom, but 2 water bottles completely filled the garbage can. More toilet paper, 3 rolls for 2 adults for 7 days is not enough same for paper towels. They provided a pot and a skillet, but no tongs or spatula. Couldn't make pancakes. Made spaghetti, but no strainer. We also only had 1 hand towel. We had 2 bath towels and 2 face towels, but only 1 hand towel. These things are not deal breakers, We would definitely stay here again. We had a wonderful trip. It was our first time visiting Hawaii and it won't be our last.

Thank you Kami1129 for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are so glad to hear that you and your husband had a wonderful stay at Aqua Aloha Surf and enjoyed the beautiful views from your room, especially the sunrise. It’s great to know that our location was convenient for you, with easy access to the Waikiki market, shops, and the beach! We appreciate your constructive feedback about the air conditioning, the kitchen supplies, and the amenities. We’ll certainly look into the issues you raised, such as providing additional kitchen utensils and ensuring a larger garbage can in the kitchen. We also understand the importance of extra toilet paper and paper towels for extended stays, and we’ll take your comments into consideration to improve guest comfort. We’re also glad to hear that our hosts were responsive and helpful during your stay. We always aim to provide the best service possible, and your feedback is invaluable in helping us achieve that. Thank you again for your thoughtful review, and we’re so happy to hear that you had a great trip to Hawaii! We would love to welcome you back for your next visit. Mahalo

We came here again because the overall package is just right. For Germans, it can always be difficult to travel abroad because of our own high standards. That's why I always advise everyone not to be too German in terms of thinking and expectations.
Room cleaning is done every three days, but you can also make special requests. The rooms are not the newest and are not decorated according to the latest trends, but I have to say that they are absolutely fine by American standards! Equipped with a TV, Playstation, safe, hairdryer, free toiletries, refrigerator, coffee machine, microwave and air conditioning (and everything is fully functional!!!), you can't complain at all. Sometimes a table would be nice, but it's fine as it is. The view is very nice despite the high-rise location in Waikiki. The hotel itself is not directly on the main or beach road and is therefore very quiet, which is what we like so much about it. You feel very safe here and there have never been any problems getting a parking space in the parking garage.
The beach and restaurant can be reached in five minutes on foot at the latest. The laundromat and bus stop are just around the corner at the end of the street, which is less than two minutes away. There is also one of those ABC kiosks at the end of the street. One of my personal highlights are the Hawaiian Tropic cosmetics that are provided here. The helpfulness and friendliness of the staff is unparalleled! Unfortunately, no breakfast is offered here.

Hi everyone, I have just returned from a great 15 day vacation at the Aqua Aloha Surf hotel and here is my review. To start, this vacation marked my third time visiting the beautiful island of Oahu. The Aqua Aloha Surf hotel in my view is a great bang for your buck, this is an older hotel and sure it could use some love but generally speaking everything works and the location is right on. Waikiki beach is a five to seven minute walk depending on your pace, but on the other hand you’re a one minute walk to a great food market on the second floor in the building next door the Lilia. The pool is small but quaint, sure there could be more long chairs but it never filled up the time I was there. Also, if you have a car the street Ala Wai Boulevard on the corner offers the possibility to park for free, otherwise the Aqua Aloha offer guest parking for $35 per night. The room they gave me was on the fifteenth floor room 1510 which offered a stunning corner view of Waikiki. Fridge, coffee maker, microwave and safe are standard in the rooms. King size bed was comfortable and decent linens. The elevators were fast, and on the ground floor you will find a water purifier dispenser machine for some free cold water and there’s ice machine as well. You can borrow beach towels and portable chairs from reception, I didn’t find the chairs to be comfortable. The staff is great and very helpful, thank you to the management as well. So for the final question, would I return to the Aqua Aloha Surf? Absolutely! Had a great time there and I recommend you should try it. Hang loose,

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It’s in the perfect part of town with so many cheap restaurants and markets nearby. Short walk to the beach as well. The complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion weren’t just the average low-grade hotel products. They actually felt so nice and the lotion smells amazing. There’s a vending machine in the lobby with $1 ramen and that was perfect for a cheap dinner or late night snack. And all this comes at an affordable price for Hawaii. All the employees were friendly and helpful. 10/10 will stay here again if I visit Waikiki.

Thank you Shannon S so much for your fantastic review! We’re absolutely thrilled to hear that you had such a positive experience at Aqua Aloha Surf and that everything from our location to the amenities exceeded your expectations. We’re glad you enjoyed the complimentary products, especially the high-quality shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. It’s great to know that the small touches, like the $1 ramen in the lobby, added to your experience and made your stay even more enjoyable. This is an old hotel with rooms that are very dated. There is no closet space other than two drawers in the room for your things and those have extra pillows in them. The bed sheets are not ironed, but clean. The pillows are very soft, and the mattress is also very soft. The room has windows that don't keep out the noise and you can hear the trash pickup out on the entire street starting around 3AM till well past 8AM. The pool is incredibly small and does not look like anyone uses it. The staff is very friendly though and will help you out as much as possible. Rooms are cleaned every 3 days but if you need extra stuff, they will bring it up for you. Parking lot is small but adequate and rate is ok. There are no bellmen to help you with your bags. With all this, next time will stay elsewhere.

the size of the rooms + the location was the only positive thing about this hotel. The pool is a size of a small pound and the staff is rude. The cleaning staff comes and goes whenever they feel like it, and used our toilet without flushing while "cleaning", it was disgusting. They come every third day, and sometimes they would actually clean, and some days they would just switch bed sheets and towels. Because they clean at any time of the day, we would often have to sit hours in the reception to wait for them to finish even trough we had been gone the whole day. Would NOT recommend.

Staff was very attentive. Reservation said no housekeeping but they still came and cleaned and will pick up our trash when we left it out the door when it got full. Beds were comfy and location was awesome, you are at walking distance to the beach and all of the restaurants. They provide towels, water and they give you cute welcome beads when you check in. They also gave us a special place to park our huge cargo van. Host was very responsive through Airbnb and the price was really affordable I think we saved a lot by choosing this stay. Tip; do not remove the green energy card near the door, I did the mistake and took it out and when we got back I thought the AC was broken because it would not turn on. Called front desk and they solved it immediately but it was my fault and then they explained the purpose of the green energy card. Front desk was always very sweet and housekeeping ladies were very sweet as well. Will definitely stay here again!!! It also has a patio which had a pretty view from our room. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Stayed here for 5 night for work. Easy, fast check in, given Room 1100 (11th floor). 2 elevators for the property, so wait is never too long. Room was tiny, it had an adjoining room door which made the think it is intended as a child suite for the larger room next door. This wall was small; so small that there was only one side to get into bed. There was no chair, couch, desk or side table, just one end table for the lamp and 1990s era Sunbeam alarm clock/radio. The TV stand/drawer had the coffee pot and microwave jammed all together. Nice balcony with decent view considering it is 3 blocks to the beachfront. No updated power ports in this room (USB or lamp power port), and with room size there were only 2 available power outlets; one behind the entry door (where the adjoining room door prevented a table from being placed there) and next to the bed (which you could not walk to since there was no space). The room was dusty, there was odd red staining on the wall near the shower stall, hair on the back of the bathroom door. The bed was wore out or ridiculously “soft” with a dip in the middle which made sleep difficult and uncomfortable. The bathroom was a disappointment; from the brown spotted mirror, cracked porcelain sink, rusty and dusty overhead light, and leaky shower head. Discovered my coworker got a room nearly double in size with a couch and 2 night stands, a separate table with sink for the microwave and coffee maker. Our company travel agency booked the 2 rooms at the same rate, so the disconnect was on the hotel side. The few positives include constant hot water, and cheap rental car parking compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at in Waikiki. Overall a pretty crummy experience; this is my third trip to the area, all with different hotels. Aqua Aloha Surf was the worst and would n

Perfect place to stay if you plan to never be in your room. We were a group of 10 looking for comfortable rooms to shower and sleep in a location where we could walk to beaches, bars and restaurants. Aqua Aloha Surf Waikiki was exactly that. The canal side of Waikiki provided a quieter experience which was appreciated after long days hiking, surfing and sun.

A little late of an answer. The two adjacent rooms that we stayed had hair dryers. Some of the rooms are owned individually but most are in the hotel pool, unless you book it directly with an owner.
