The Laylow, Autograph Collection, garners consistent praise for its friendly and attentive service, creating a personalized experience for guests. Many revel in the hotel's vibrant atmosphere, with stylish decor and live music enhancing The Hideout's social space. While the stylish rooms are well-regarded, opinions on their views and room service vary. Its prime Waikiki location is a hit among travelers for easy access to local attractions. However, the hotel's value is debated, with some guests mentioning high additional costs. Cleanliness receives high marks across the board.

The Laylow is a gorgeous boutique hotel right in Waikiki- it had everything we wanted and was perfect for our weekend trip! The design of the hotel is beautiful, I loved the cute gift they gave you upon arrival into your room (branded flip flops and snacks!) The restaurant was also absolutely wonderful- we went for happy hour and got some yummy mai tais and poke tacos! I love how you can look out over the street. It had such a great vibe and our waiter was wonderful! I also love how during the day you have access to a coffee stand right in the lobby- was a great way to wake up, grab a coffee and head out on an adventure or walk around the area!

My husband and I stayed at The Laylow for 5 nights. We enjoyed the vibe of the hotel as it was not too big and it felt warm and chill. The rooms are nice and they have everything you could need. Noridel, a lovely staff member from Housekeeping, took such great care of us. She was pleasant, professional and very customer service oriented. She always greeted us with the biggest smile. She is a big asset to the team at The Laylow. We also enjoyed the chic ambiance and our delicious meal at the roof-top restaurant, Hideout. Our waiter, Gerard, took such great care of us. He was personable, attentive and very customer oriented. Prior to our yummy vegan meal, we enjoyed cocktails on the comfy couches by the fire pit. We look forward to staying at the Laylow again and enjoying another rooftop visit!

Nori the housekeeper was exceptional. Valets and all service we had was very kind and accommodating. Nice room and nice touches. Comfortable mattress and temperature could be adjusted to our preference. Location next to fancy parts or Waikiki.

I looked at various hotels for our first time in Hawaii and settled on the Laylow based on some of the reviews on here. We were not disappointed, this place is great. From first check-in with Joey who was most welcoming with his infectious smile and great attitude until the day we checked out, the staff were lovely. Shout out to Cassidy in The Hideout for keeping the Mai Tai’s flowing! The branding and attention to detail makes this place. The welcome basket in the room with the water bottles is a simple idea but sustainable and so convenient to fill from the cold, room temp or sparking water taps in the hallway. I felt the resort fee was value for money with everything in the basket (flip-flops, water bottles, crisps, chocolate and postcards) as well as activities around the hotel (lei making, origami etc). The shave ice and mocktails at the pool were great for a cooldown during the day, they also have spf30 at the pool to keep you from sunburn. We had room 1515, a corner suite with a balcony on 2 sides. If you are interested in sun on your balcony from first thing in the morning then room 1514 is probably slightly better but that didn’t bother us. Food in the Hideout was great, as were the cocktails and they do a Happy Hour each day that includes Mai Tai’s. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Oahu.

I recently stayed at The Laylow Waikiki hotel for my son's birthday weekend, and unfortunately, I experienced a series of concerning incidents. Firstly, I called ahead to confirm the pet policy and approved the pet fee, yet upon check-in, I was accused of sneaking in my pet, even though I had checked in with my dog at the front desk. The next day, I received an intrusive call from the front desk interrogating me about my dog, insisting I sign documentation immediately, disregarding my ongoing commitments. In addition to the accusations, a family friend who is also an employee of Marriott decided to join us. He was attending a function the next day so he checked in the day before and left his luggage with us since his room was not yet available. When I asked the front desk agent to place his items in his room once it was ready she also accused me of using the employees room due to the fact that my same credit card was attached to his bill as well. I was shocked - I already charged 5 rooms to my card, but I never authorized a 6th room. After discussing the incident with my friend, we realized we both use American Express as our credit card of choice and if you've used AMEX before, the last 4 and 5 digits of the cards are all similar. Ours both ended in x1001. Without even confirming, the agent went on an on lecturing me about abuse of the employee policy. We are local residents and we occupied 5 hotel rooms. We are also Marriott Gold and Platinum members! I was surprised by the treatment we received. But, the location and amenities can't be beat. Months later, during a September visit, the same front desk agent recognized me and claimed my 2 rooms weren't ready. Despite having a hotel provided cart from valet filled with luggage, no assistance was offered. After waiting on the pool deck, I was told someone would notify me before the 4 pm check-in time, but no one did. When I inquired after 4pm, the agent finally confirmed my room was ready yet i wasnt notified. I feel targeted and harassed. But again, the location and amenities can't be beat so we will be returning. Considering these issues, I am contemplating reaching out to the corporate office before my next visit.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Laylow! The staff is friendly and kind from the welcoming valet to the very attentive front desk, especially Joey who made us feel right at home. Even the house cleaning was top tier with our very sweet Nori making sure we had everything we needed every day of our stay. The live music in the Hideout was outstanding and the daily activities for the guests like lei making, canvas painting and my children’s favorite, shaved ice was the icing on the cake! Highly recommend to anyone looking for fabulous stay!

This hotel is a gem in the middle of the hustle of bustle of Waikiki. But it's an oasis of a boutique hotel with an awesome vibe and amazing staff/service. In particular I want to give a shoutout to Joey for taking care of us at check in and explaining everything to us. All the staff were courteous and well trained. Room was comfortable and decor had a nice laid back feel. All the little things they do to make the stay nice from free shaved ice to refillable water station and microwave at the lobby level was very much appreciated. I love sparkling water so I was really excited to see they provide that free along side chilled and room temperature water. It's Environmentally friendly and makes for happy guests who I saw refilling all day. I was contemplating between this and other Marriott hotels. After staying here and seeing where the locations are I'm glad we picked this hotel especially since the international market was next door - very convenient!

We enjoyed this hotel, it is a little quirky, not up there in terms of luxury, but certainly better than most big-chain hotels. We stayed 5 nights and arrived quite late on the first night. There isn't really any reception area, you come up an escalator with the bar and restaurant on one side, a small pool area on the other, and a reception desk against the wall in the corridor to the elevators. As it was quite late we had to venture out to find something to eat. Everything in Hawaii seems to close quite early so, after wondering around for a bit we asked someone if they knew of anywhere still open for food and were pointed in the direction of a karaoke bar! Not normally our first choice but we were hungry, anyway we had a great time! A couple of burgers, beers, and a great atmosphere later we returned to the hotel. We had a high level room on a corner with a little balcony. The room was pleasant, modern, big enough, and clean. They have a sort of retro aesthetic to the decor that works well. No mini bar in the room but you can stock up on water and snacks at the convenience store next to the hotel. Breakfast in the Hideout bar / restaurant was fabulous. It is half covered so you can sit outside and they have a really great breakfast / brunch menu that is nicely on trend. We grabbed a drink in the bar most evenings and ate in the restaurant for dinner once. The staff here are super friendly, and really look after you. The hotel is centrally located on a busy street and is a short (5 - 10 minute) walk to Waikiki beach where we spent most days. Sun loungers on the beach are extortionate compared to Europe but it's either than or sitting on the sand. The sun loungers we used were next door to the Moana Surfrider hotel and we used their outdoor bar and restaurant for lunch and drinks every day. The staff at the Laylow were great. We booked a helicopter tour of the island through our travel consultant and asked the hotel to book us a car to take us to the helipad and pick us up later - no problem, no fuss. A great big 4x4 picked us up in the morning, and a stretched limo picked us up to take us back! Overall, a great hotel, further from the beach than many of the big hotels, but really not much of a walk, it has a nice boutique type feel, and all the shops and restaurants are within a short walk.
