This hotel is only 5 mins from the airport and the free shuttle makes this a good option if you have an early flight. The rooms are dated with noisy air conditioning and construction noise from the metro and from an adjacent warehouse, although this seemed to cease in the evening. The hotel is walking distance from a bus stop to go into town and also a Wendy’s . If you are looking for a luxury quiet property then this isn’t for you, but if you are just after somewhere to crash before an early flight this is a good choice.

We like staying at Pacific Marina for two main reasons: the free and closely accessible parking (if you can get one), which makes it easy to go back to your car to retrieve things or run out in a hurry; and the bar downstairs. The pool area is also nice and, since we frequent Oʻahu, the location is very convenient for to most the places we end up going to. But the rooms are hit or miss as far as cleanliness and comfort. For this last trip, our bed was extremely uncomfortable. Just hard like every spring is just done. My husband and I had sore backs every morning. Time to throw out these mattresses. (Oh, and pretty much every “Queen” size bed we’ve had there was not a Queen, they were Full-size mattresses.) I don’t know if this hotel is going to be affected by the rail system coming through—like if they have to close down because they are in the path—and that’s why the rooms aren’t being changed out, upgraded, or given on super good cleaning/painting head to toe. If that’s what is happening, then I understand and will keep staying there while it’s still around. But if they are staying, I hope they do some major cleanup and upgrades soon. There should be some investment into the hotel for the good of their guest, especially the retiring ones.

I chose this hotel for my vacation in Oahu. The price and free parking were the reasons why I chose this hotel. It is quite a distance from downtown Honolulu where all the action is. Even though, it's near the airport, the overall location is odd as several factories are nearby. The parking lot is a bit tight. The shower water temperature was unstable. It did not stay hot very long. Phone service was nearly non-existent, however, the wifi worked well. You can occasionally hear airplanes. Certain channels on the TV went in and out. I liked that the hotel texted me throughout my stay to see how I was. The hotel is next to a Chinese restaurant. No breakfast is available, but a few restaurants are located within a mile or less. The hotel also has a small convenience store available with food and drinks available for purchase. There is also a pool which I did not use. The area has construction around it. The GPS recommends entering from the road with construction on it, but it's much easier to utilize the road that goes to the park.

Gross dirty run down mess of a place, charge resort fees annoucned on top inflated room fees. This aint a resort. Rude, slow check inn. I mean when you can even put the blue anr ed taps on the cporrcet side of the sink you know its run by lazy people. Air Con barely functioned and was so old it just leaked everywhere. Terrible hole of a joint.

This is a very basic hotel. The air conditioning units in the rooms are very noisy, the bathroom wasn’t clean. The bar makes you pay for an expensive bag of chips for the privilege of sitting outside to escape the loud music inside. When I realised left my Apple Air Pods in my room I called from the airport lounge twice and sent photos of my locator showing where they were but to no avail. I don’t think a lot of effort was made to find them and added to the overall feeling that the staff just don’t care. Honolulu airport has limited accommodation and we travellers are a captive audience. We have visited Hawaii many times and this hotel has left a bad taste.

This place has the worst customer service workers I've ever had to deal with at a hotel. First this is my second time staying and I should have known better. So the first time I had stayed I was charged 300 dollars for a TV that was already broken . Now this time my mother in law checkcked in on the 4th and I paid for the room through Priceline now we get there my mother in law checks in and is told there is a deposit of 250 plus 185. In resort fees. The deposit had to go on her card because mine was a virtual card and couldn't be verified. We checked in at night noting that we had a cat. The next day I'm told I have to pay 40 dollars a day cat fee that I assumed was already paid. I asked if my card could be used the guy said no. So I ran all over trying to get the cash. . Paid and all is well. We decided to extend our stay because hey it's cheap and I have no where else at this time. When I rebook I'm told by the manager and I quote " Well we were not even going to rent to you again because last time you left a nasty review". No I left an honest o e. She goes on to say if I promise to write a good review she will let us stay. However we need to pay the resort fees and pet fees in cash because my card can not be verified. Now I'm crying literally begging but no so I beg, borrow and finally come up with the cash in the meantime they would not let my husband with my cat back into the room that mind you was already paid for. I just had to pay resort and pet fee the nightly rate was already taken. So at the end of our stay I wash pillow cases and sheets and make sure everything is clean and good because last time I had to pay 20 dollars for a spot on a towel. We check out and they proceed to tell me they are charging my card 250 because we didn't tell them we had a cat. Ummm I paid pet fees the first night I didn't but not my fault my mother in law stood right at the desk and told the lady we had a cat. So I look at the fine print it says pets welcome MAY be an additional charge so the lady the first night messed up not my problem and then you charged a card you told me could not be verified could not be used 250 dollars. So now I'm dealing with Priceline because I was also charged for my room twice. I am irate my bank account is overdrafted because of this place so unprofessional I would never recommend this place.

This place is NOTHING like the picture you see online. NOTHING. the upgraded room is a standard room in most other hotel. it's is a motel something from the 1950s with jalousie windows and wall units A/C that drips with bucket to catch the drip outside... the bathroom is tiny teening, 1 sink, not big enough to fit 2 people. lime green wall. Close to the airport is all about what it is offered, and in a commercial port...with nothing else around for miles. it is a joke, so don't go by the online pictures of the hotels advertised.

This place is a dump. Their pictures do not show how rundown it really is. Our flight from Honolulu to Kona was canceled due to Kona Airport being shut down for a runway repair. We were advised by a Hawaiian Airline employee to "stay near the airport" for the night. This place popped up on google and we had to deal with a third party to reserve and insisted we pay up front. That should have been our first clue. The shuttle dropped us and a full van off. We demanded to see the room first. It was on a dark side street, the door to the room was literally one step from the street..the door had to be shoved open, the bed was only full size with a sag in the middle, a sink attached to the wall like you see in prisons and mold on the walls. We immediately declined and had to call our credit card to cancel the charge the next day. They also charged $23 for the shuttle which was about a five minute drive away. Do not stay here!!

We booked one night here since it had free shuttle service from airport and we needed to stay close by to return to pick up our car rental the next morning since we got in so late and didn’t want to spend on the extra day for the car and hotel we were staying at the rest of the stay. I wouldn’t do it again. First off, they said shuttle would get to us in 7-10 min, and it took 39 min after calling twice after booking. When we arrived their store was closed, and they didn’t even have water to offer. The shuttle driver did offer to stop at the gas station on the way since it was closed, but it was 10pm so we weren’t hungry and I figured they would at least have a vending machine or water. They didn’t. I asked multiple times at check in if they had a water they could just sell me or give because I was thirsty and there was no other options, but to no avail. Our room was horrible. So horrible that we didn’t even want to shower or get out of our airport clothes and just slept in them until the morning. The bedroom says two twins, but it was definitely two single beds. And the gap between the door and ground made us fearful of roaches or any other outside bugs coming in. So we used part of the bed covering to put between it and hopefully help us. As well as sleep with the light on to keep the bugs out. Oh, also at check in this is small, but it said pay $13 at resort (as we booked through orbitz) and the fee was $14.95. They charged tax on it. I wouldn’t have mentioned as I thought that was weird but maybe the norm. When we got to our other hotel the next day, there was no tax and priced as is. So I thought it was worth the mention. Nothing around here but an industrial area. No good food. Store has limited items and ONLY Dasani water for sale, when we went in the next morning for purchases.

Don’t book! Not even worth the cheap price.

It’s with great disappointment I write this review as an frequent traveller however as both the booking Agent (Priceline) and the establishment have ignored my emails, it’s in the best interests of future travellers to be aware of my grievances with my stay.

Firstly we found it most difficult to find the establishment due to the main road being under construction and closed to the public, and yet no communication from either the agent or the motor inn which wasn’t helpful.

We were then caught by surprise when I was asked for additional fees (not outlined in the booking) with included a room servicing fee and a further security deposit. Both these items should have been mentioned in the contract which is very deceiving by nature.

When I booked in I explained I was very tired and had not slept, I also explained it was a short booking as we were leaving early morning (under 12 hour stay) and yet the check in process was still dragged out with no explanation of the amenities (pool, bar, restaurant hours etc) but instead was given the key to room 256.

After entering we found other people’s baggage still in this room so we immediately closed the door & reported it to reception & confronted the agent at the counter Who originally served me who apologised, however all the staff were more concerned how the internal error took place instead of dealing with me who was dripping wet, tired, hungry and now upset. Instead, it took a further 15min to simply give me another room which they should have done at the instance.

Unfortunately the room conditions are extremely poor, with a large gap on the bottom of the front door allowing both the elements of rain and wind, as well as the loud construction from the main road which took place all night. There were mosquitoes in the front window behind the blinds and the room was a fire hazard and a danger to the hotel with cords for the Television and box of sorts being all loose and tangled, and visibly a hazard with the TV frozen and therefore unable to be used.

The cleanliness of the room was also disturbing with obvious and visible marks, smudges, con webs, surface rust and possibly should be reviewed by health experts for filter changes for the air conditioning and vents, while also a pubic hair was found in the bathroom.

There was no drinking water, available nor tea or coffee mentioned at check in or at any time. This by far has been my worst experience in 15 years of working in the hospitality trade with and throughout my years of international travel.

Both the third party agent and the establishment should be responsible and accountable for clear communication regarding all fees and access to and from the site.

I asked that establishment to review my complaints and provide me a response, that was on the 3rd March 2023 and I’m still waiting!

Tippler is a 10 minute drive but the bus will take you more than 30 mins with a fair bit of walking. You may want to consider nearby private accommodation that is similar cost per night but offers weekly or monthly discounts.

Stay in the city or in Waikiki (Airbnb best bet.) Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT stay here for 5 days. This is for a convenient few hours between flights, and NOT a place to stay for any length of time beyond a super short rest stop.
