Our first experience in a B&B The home, antiques, architectural details more than met our expectations. The Josephine room where we stayed was the original master bedroom. The hostess, Rosalee, makes you feel at home. She takes pride in explaining the historical facts about the home. Her knowledge makes you appreciate the outstanding craftsmanship that makes Ahern a delightful place...

An absolutely wonderful place to stay. Rosalee is a joy to meet and her breakfasts delicious. Coffee is fabulous especially to wake up to. The B&B is in a perfect location with a nice stroll into Vicksburg.

The Belle of the Bends is a beautiful historic home, with air-conditioning and private baths. The condition of the home is wonderful! The hospitality provided by Rosalee was terrific! We would definitely stay here again when/if we visit Vicksburg.

The B&B is approximately 300 feet from a railroad track that passes by at 2am, 3am, and 5am nightly and numerous times during daylight hours. Also, we were there for 2 nights and 3 days and never saw the owners. Everything was taken care of by the cook. Learning point. Always google map the property that you are going to...

This is an unsullied Victorian mansion from 1876, with high ceilings, hand-crafted wood molding, elegant period furniture and broad porches overlooking the Mississippi. Rosa Lee, who cares for the house meticulously, cooked a full southern breakfast and told us marvelous stories about the house and region. It's an excellent place to stay while visiting Vicksburg National Battlefield Park.

Circa 1871 this place is amazing. It only rents out 4 bedrooms all of which are very spacious and furnished for the time period. I didn't see that any one room was any better than the others. You have the run of the house giving you a sense that the mansion is yours! Each room has its own thermostat, TV,...

The only thing I would add to what has already been written is that breakfast is served “family style” at 9:00a. We waited around for breakfast, and ended up cutting out our trip to the U.S.S. Cairo because we had somewhere else to be that afternoon. In hindsight I wish we had made other arrangements for breakfast and left earlier.

We loved our stay with Mary. She reminded us of both our Mum's! She's attentive and friendly and a little bit mad but we loved her and the house. The rooms are made up in true Southern style and the house is beautiful and Mary is clearly proud of this which was evident when she showed us around. We had...

Stayed at the Belle of the Bends for 2 days. When we arrived at the Bed and Breakfast there was no water or drinks available. We have stayed at plenty of Bed and Breakfasts and there is always a pitcher of iced tea, lemonade or water on hand. This is really appreciated when temperatures are 95 degrees with 90% humidity....
