Yes, the Clifton House is a beautiful house, built around 1908. Yes, it's very convenient to the university, and centrally located in Cincinnati. Yes, it's near the Ludlow Avenue gaslight district. The breakfast chefs are from Cincinnati State's culinary institute. The owner, Nancy Niehaus, is friendly and knowledgeable. There's a billiard table, a workout room, and a library. None of... More

My husband and I ventured to Cincinnati to visit a family member who is currently teaching at UC. She mentioned this lovely b & b that she walks by on her way to Ludlow which is the charming central street in the Gaslight District. We had a lovely 2 night stay and there is not one thing we would have... More

I decided to treat myself to a 1st-time visit to Cincy after a week of business in Indy. I was debating whether to stay in the Gaslight District or downtown, and having chose the former, I had a really fantastic stay. First, the neighborhood is suburban and so has ample street parking and a couple minutes' walk to Ludlow St.... More

We just stayed here last weekend. The house is beautiful, and Nancy was very welcoming, pleasant and nice. I will say after staying at a few bed and breakfasts I was a little disappointed with a few things. The first was the cleanliness of our room. It was extremely dusty and our entire family kept sneezing all night. My son... More

I recently had my wedding reception at the Clifton House. My new husband and the wedding party spent the night and could not have asked for a better experience. It started with me looking for an intimate place for the reception and some perks for our out of town guests to make the wedding process easy for them. When I... More

This is a 1900 built B&B within walking distance to great restaurants, colleges and the Gaslight district. The room was nicely appointed and clean. The breakfasts prepared by Chef Brian were perfect and delicious. Each morning brought something tasty to experience. Nancy is a delightful host providing answers to any questions, history on the house and wine and treats at... More

This is a terrific bed and breakfast located close to UC in a quiet neighborhood. Homey and spacious bedrooms rooms, beautifully decorated and comfortable common areas (library, living room, dining room), a breezy porch and terrific service. Nancy provides brownies and wine (or soda) at 5 every day and a fabulous breakfast. This is our regular place when visiting our... More

From the moment we walked in and met Nancy, the proprietor we felt at home. The rooms on the main floor are impeccable and filled with glorious art. The house is just beautiful inside and out. The beds are comfortable, the a/c worked well, which is important in Cincy in the summertime, and the rooms are all very quaint with... More

I have stayed at Clifton House several times while in the Cincinnati area for business. I have always found the property to be very comfortable, quiet and convenient for walking to local restaurants and businesses. Nancy makes me feel welcome at each visit and is always available but never intrusive. I think the rooms are very spacious, the mattresses are... More

I have stayed in a lot of B&B's. This one was not good. I noticed the uncleanliness right away because we came in the back door near the kitchen. Stove was not clean. The hostess was nice and helpful but a little distracted. There was also only unfiltered tap water. The coffee in the morning was right outside the door... More
