We found it difficult to find accommodation in or near Yellowstone Park but found a cabin at Canyon Lodge for one night so we booked it. It was relatively expensive but reasonable for Yellowstone Park and area. Staying in the park avoided an 80 – 100 mile round trip to a nearby community and hotels in those communities were of...

We were on our motorcycle trip and was looking forward to staying in Yellowstone. I had made reservations for the three of us, eight months before the trip, and I'm glad I did. You have to go to the village to check-in. The lady at the desk said they were full and had people waiting for a room, if there...

Canyon Lodge is probably one of the nicer, more expensive and certainly newer places to stay inside Yellowstone. Unfortunately, newer during our stay meant you could still smell paint everywhere you went. The rooms were very clean, and the environmental considerations were nice to see although the lights situation was maddening. Only the entryway light switch works, you have to...

Once you check-in (at the village) and then head to your appropriate lodge, you'll see that it is worth the $$ to stay in the heart of Yellowstone. I would hope the multiple lodges will have check-ins on site so to make it a bit easier in the future. The rooms are nice size, clean, rustic, yet with plenty of...

The lodging at Canyon was new and had refrigerator in Moran building which we stayed. There was no TV, but we had excellent breakfast there. While we were there the convenient store closed early because it was Christmas in August. They said it was a custom to celebrate it. Buses to main area.

There are several new buildings that look lovely. We stayed in older area and it was fine but NOTE there is no elevator and no staff to help with bags. You check in offsite at the massive and crowded Canyon Village then you are on your won. It would have been a problem is we were less fit. Specify ground...

We stayed in one of the new buildings (1-2 years old) called Dunraven in a first-floor end unit classified as an ADA Premium Room for $277/night. (We didn't need the ADA but that's all that was available.) The room had a double bed and a single bed, mini-fridge and recycling bins. It was clean and comfortably large enough for three...

Stayed in Canyon Lodge and cabins. Stayed in a 2 story new building on the first floor with small balcony. The room was clean and new. 2 double beds. There was a coffee maker and small refrigerator. No closet but shelves for clothes etc. People were extremely nice. In all the Lodge areas they had a better restaurant, cafeteria, diner type...

We had a rather mixed experience while staying here. Firstly, Yellowstone National Park in spite of (or maybe due to) its vast size has very few lodging areas. Among them, Canyon Lodge wins hands down for location. It is within one-hour drive from all the major tourist spots (Norris Geysers, Grand Prismatic, Old Faithful, Lamar Valley, Mammoth Springs). There are...

This property provides reasonable accommodation, clean and comfortable at a high price but that is to be expected in the Park. The location is excellent with easy access to the Canyon, Hayden and Lamar valleys.
