I arrived to the park to find that the valley campgrounds were booked and that Wawona and Hodgedon were my next closest bets. I went with Wawona as it wasn't far from a few places I had wanted to see anyway. It looked booked but someone tipped me off that a site had been vacated early even though someone had...

Excellent traditional camping. Peaceful, uncrowded, river runs along campground. Loop C is the nicest choice. No AT&T service but not unusual for the expansive "wilds of the west". Wawona General Store and other historical locations nearby. This is a national park and prebooking at Recreation.gov is highly advisable. Yes, this a big park and Wawona is 26 miles from Yosemite...

I guess I would give this campground a 2.5 review but it was definitely the worse out of 6 campgrounds we stayed at during a 2 week road trip from North Carolina to California. There are no "secluded/private" sites, you can see everyone around you... You also need reservation before coming to this campground, so while on the phone we...

Unfortunately we missed the fact that there's no showers in the area. We camped and had to drive 45mins to get a shower every morning. I wish we could have found another pitch in Yosemite valley. That said the rangers were nice.

Wawona is incredibly beautiful, and it is worth it to stay there if you are planning on going to Yosemite! Although there are nice bathrooms and water spigots stationed around the campground, the dirt isn't ideal for staking tents and there isn't any privacy. Thankfully, the trees provide shade and all the staff and rangers at Wawona are incredibly helpful...

Stayed for 2 nights in an RV. No hookups, but each site has a fire ring (no restrictions on fires as there is in Yosemite valley), but good, simple toilet and wash-up sinks. Good access, and great position beside the river with rocks and pools. Campfire talk each evening from the ranger - aimed primarily at the kids but quite...

We stayed here for two nights for the first time in May. I wish I had come here sooner. The Valley is normally so crowded but Wawona camping was actually calm and connected with nature. I look forward to returning to this camp site.

I booked online $26 a night and drove 3 hours from Sequoia to Wawona. I took the NPS annual membership which is $80 and worth it if you visit a couple state parks in a year. Wawona, is a lager campsite and you can see the map online all the sites opposite the creek are the really shaded sights with...

In our attempt to get a campsite in the valley, we ended up with a site at the Wawona Campground during the 4th week of June. We knew it would be a drive to get to the valley (about 45 minutes), and were somewhat concerned about the setup of the campground. Overall, we were very satisfied with our campsite. We...

The camp ground is quite and calm in a scenic surrounding. It is very clean regarding the camping sides itself and the restrooms. The campground has tab water. However it is a bit off the beat, as one has to drive at least 30 min to reach the major sights. Also it's a bit off the shuttle bus track.
