I had a pleasant stay here with the following pros/cons Pros: Nice ocean views from balcony (though partially obstructed in some rooms by trees) Good breakfast variety Generally friendly staff Spacious rooms with good A/C Easy to get to by public transport - take the public bus (there's an A/C bus for this route) from Colombo to Matara and then...

We spent some time looking for accommodation in the area that fitted in with our budget and what we wanted from our stay in Weligama. We were disappointed by the pool as it was in an awkward area, quite small, with little seating, however the beach is literally on this hotel's doorstep and during April it was not busy at...

My wife and I stayed at the Jagabay Resort for a 5 night B&B stay during early April 2017 so here is our review…. Site - JBR occupies a site between the road and beach. There are two main blocks of about 3 storeys each towards the beach and a number of “villas” set behind them amongst coconut palms and...

From the main road guests enter by what is the rear of the hotel, and looks very unprepossessing. However the room to which we were shown was a chalet no more than 25 yards from the beach. The chalet had one main room with a huge double bed and mosquito net. It was air conditioned and had a ceiling fan....

The hotel is situated in the east end of the beach which is quiet and clean. The view from the balcony was fantastic! Good breakfast with fresh fruit, natural yoghurt, eggs, sausages, hoppers, bread and jam. Most of the staff is very friendly. Clean rooms, both AC and fan to choose from. The shower was a bit lazy and the...

The resort is situated on the bay between Weligama e Mirissa, concerned in a structure surrounded by the palms with direct access to the sea. The bedrooms are large with king size canopy bed, and a refurnished bathroom. The breakfast is good always with fresh fruit avaible. The sea in front of the resort is not the best of the...

Friendly people, affordable, nice beach, good breakfast buffet. Not very far to Mirissa or Matara. We had a good time at Jagabay and prolonged our stay with a couple of days, which was no problem. Could easily stay there again.

Me, my wife and son just concluded a two night stay at Jagabay Resort. Pros: - you're right on the beach, easy access. - chill atmosphere. Cons: - low quality meals (you'll want to eat elsewhere, especially breakfast - it's the same every day). - Lethargic service. Kusan (sp) the floor manager is awesome (very helpful) but most of the...

The hotel looked like a construction site, the promised pool was cluttered with laundry and had no place for sun beds, the TV had no channels, the staff looks very tired and most don't even give you a smile. The breakfast is very good and the food as well, but the service is so low so we choosed to eat...

Stayed 4 nights with my mum and brothers - for my birthday. Cannot fault the location- right on the beach, the rooms are basic but clean and the owners and cleaning staff were also friendly. Unfortunately not much else positive to say. The hotel has a pool - for children! It is a kiddies' pool, with the water up to...
