A great hotel with a handy location for visiting Semuc Champey., and travelling on to Flores and Tikal. Breakfast was provided with the room price, the hotel was located close by several excellent restaurants. Most helpful and welcoming owner and staff. Spectacular garden created by many generations of the present owner.

Went to Coban, Guatemala to attend an Orchid show as a judge. Looking for a nice hotel was recommended this one, am glad I did nice and comfortable bedròom, surrounded by ancient gardens, 4th generation, affordable and healthy food, incredible dedicated service, is like being at home. Has become my place in any visit to the area.

A beautiful place to relax in Coban. The family who runs the hotel is very kind and helpful, the rooms are clean and all situated around a beautiful garden. A really wonderful place to stay for a few nights!

My partner and I stayed at Monja Blanca for three nights in December 2014 and were extremely impressed. The hotel is located right at the center of town, and is steps away from all the activities in Coban (including the best places to eat). It is a colonial-era house converted into a hotel, so it has a very homey feel, with a gorgeous courtyard that is full of flowers and birds and is very calm and quiet--really a wonderful place to relax. Our room was very charming. It was decorated with antique furniture and had very comfortable beds with soft sheets. Best of all, the room had an in-house bathroom with piping-hot water (often an issue in other hotels in the area) and was very very clean. Lastly, the service was also outstanding. The hotel happily provided extra blankets and towels, and, when I had to make myself available for a conference call for work, the owner made the house phone available to me at no charge. Then, on our last day, when our tour operator ran late to pick us up, the owner called the tour company and made arrangements to ensure that we would be able to make it to our next destination without issue. I could not have been happier with the service we received at the Monja Blanca and would recommend staying there without any reservation.

The hotel courtyard, built in colonial style, had tiled, covered walkways and the central garden area was full of ornamental plants. All parts of the hotel were clean and well maintained. Rooms are simple, clean and pleasant with comfortable beds and good quality bedding. Breakfast is provided at extra cost in a lovely dining room with dark wood furniture with yellow table cloths. This hotel, in my opinion, is excellent value for money.
