Little Corn Island is very nice and the location of Dobedo is nice too BUT... it's first of all to far away from the village. There's nothing to do here. OK you can go to the beach off course and it's really nice, but if it's raining or has rained, then you have a problem. The path from the village...

For most, Dobedo is a destination, next to the nicest beach on the island and rather than paying $400/night that one shells out for Yemaya next door, guests are well accommodated here for $40/night. Depending on the Season and Weather, things that are out of my control, the Path can be muddy, and yes, One must decide on which they...

Beautiful place, incredible family who runs it! Our reservation got messed up, and they bent over backwards to make sure we got looked after. Great food, great accomodation! The beach is simply spectacular! Here's the catch: it's a 45 minute hike through the jungle to get there. If you take the late boat to Little Corn, you'll be hiking in...

Our family of 4 loved every minute of our time on Little Corn and Dobedo. It was totally awesome. Our boys were 9 and 12 when we were there in March, 2015. We'd go back in a heartbeat. Accomodations were basic, limited electricity, rustic - as advertised. Lots to explore, the island is out of this world. Share the beach...

Dobedos is the best bang for your buck on corn island. You gain access to the best beach. You have clean drinking water, and nice seclusion. Matthew is great, he set us up with snorkeling equipment and a fishing excursion. The cabins are simple, but really what else do you want in the Caribbean? I know we will be staying...

The setting of this hostel is beautiful: a clearing in the trees a 2-3 minute walk from the best beach on Little Corn Island. There are 8 or 9 buildings on the property, of varying quality. The gazebo is lovely; the showers are great. The cabin we stayed in was rustic in the same way that apartments are described as...

Hi Erin. Thank you for your review. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay with us so much that you decided to spend an extra week beyond what you'd originally booked. I also thank you for your candid remarks as we are always trying to improve our little resort. Unfortunately, due to an illness in the family, we had to...

My bf and I were here for 4 nights. The accomodation was basic and perfect for our getaway from all the Christmas fuss. There's no power from 6am to 1pm which is fine because there's no wifi, so who needs power? There's a path right down to the best beach on the island. And the fancy hotel next door has...

My son and I stayed at Dobedo for a month in August/September 2015. We wanted to get away from it all, and this was the perfect place! Dobedo is in a quiet area of Little Corn island, in a clearing in the forest. The grounds are private and beautifully kept, with exotic plants and flowers everywhere. We stayed in 2...

It is a hike all the way across the island to get to Dobedos and the trail can be muddy after rains. Bring your food as there are kitchen facilities but not many restaurants nearby. Walking across the island in the dark after dinner in town is no fun. Yemaya will let you eat if they have room but it's...

Thank you Tonya for your review. While the offseason is a wonderfully quiet time to be on the island, it is also unfortunately the rainy season where most places are either closed or not fully staffed and the path is muddy. I apologize that our restaurant was not open that time of year and that I was not there to...

We enjoyed our 4 nights at Dobedo. Our arrival here was the beginning of a 16-day Nicaraguan adventure, which took us to Little Corn Island, Leon, Maderas Beach (at San Juan del Sur), Ometepe and Laguna de Apoyo. Owner/operator Matthew has literally carved this special place out of the jungle, creating rustic, yet clean and comfortable cabins on the site....

Stayed here for 5 nights with my husband. It was exactly what we wanted from our Corn Islands trip, it is in the middle of nowhere, very basic, quiet & beautiful. The owner Mathew & his family are lovely and cook really good & well priced meals for you there if you ask. He also rents snorkelling equipment. The property...
