One of the worst places I have ever stayed in. The cabanas are very basic - two towels and two little soaps. There is no kettle, no fridge, a tiny blanket, no safebox and the cabanas are incredibly drafty. Mind you, we paid $115 a night! Breakfast is not included. We were told we need to pay $3-5 a person...

The dates of your visit, on Christmas/New Year are very difficult as they are among our busiest times of the year. We are a popular destination for Nicaraguan families for Christmas/New Years, Easter and Independence Days (Sept 14-17). These days we are a totally different kind of destination, happy, lots of families with kids, a hopping restaurant, and very busy...

I still would recommend Selva Negra but I have found that the restaurant service is not what it used to be. Maybe it was because I was a single female but I waited 25 minutes for a menu, even though I asked three different people to bring on. Then it took another 35 minutes to get a hamburger. I was...

I am glad to hear that you continue to be a frequent visitor to Selva Negra. And thanks for taking some time to provide us with some feedback. I am troubled to hear that the service in the restaurant was not appropriate during your visit. Like all restaurants, we sometimes struggle when we have a large group but that is...

I am sorry to hear that your room was not up to your standards and that your asthma was impacted during your stay. As we are in the rain forest, we are in constant battle with the moisture and the natural environment to keep our lodging options comfortable for our guests. As part of that effort the cabin that you...

Based upon the recommendation of Julio Tours, my husband and I scheduled an unexpected three day trip to the north of Nicaragua. We stayed at Selva Negra for two nights in one of their cabanas. The cabana was exceptionally clean, quiet and most satisfying. The cabanas are nestled in a heavily wooded area and quite beautiful. When visiting, take advantage...

We are very glad that you decided to venture to the North of Nicaragua. It is truly a wonderful area of the country and quite a bit different than the rest of Nicaragua. I am glad to hear that you found our cabins and coffee tour to your liking. We are very proud of our guides, they are all local...

For over 15 years, my congregation has supported a medical clinic near Selva Negra. Whenever taking a small groups of doctors we always stay at Selva Negra and has become a great oasis after a long day at the clinic. It is in one of the pretties settings in Nicaragua. Both early in the morning and late in the afternoon...

Selva Negra is amazing. We initially planned to stay here for two nights, but after one night, we decided a week would be more appropriate. The facilities are extremely clean. The coffee is locally grown and really starts the day. We went on the Coffee Tour with Manuel as our guide. This was a tremendous tour and Manuel's knowledge is...

We loved the place since we have already visited it a couple of times. We like the weather and the woods they are amazing, however, walking is the only thing you can do for free, the other ones are really expensive including the food. We diden't like the service. People at the reception diden't welcome us as we expected. The...

Impressive coffee finca and farm that you can visit for a day. We stayed for the night as we arrived in the late afternoon (they have three different price options, ~$35,$60,$100). Amazing hiking trails through the cloud forrest which are well marked so that you can explore on your own. What we enjoyed the most was the chocolate tour with...

A little slice of Germany in the Nicaraguan highlands, which is a bit weird. The restaurant serves their own grown food, but is still a bit expensive for the portion size. The nature tour we came for was a bit of a disappointment, as we spent more time looking at a book of birds than actually searching the trees. However...
