I live in Dublin however this is our go to place for a relaxing break. Beautiful rooms and different on each floor A real treat over Christmas period. The staff all live locally and are happy in their work which shines through in their service. Great food and lovely walks. Just wish they would serve some Italian red wines (...

We stayed in a deluxe room which was lovely and comfortable. In our room we had our own bath robes and Moton Brown toiletries which a...

I would like to thank you for a lovely welcome whenever I go into Durrow castle. A warm smile and a friendly greeting is so welcoming. I would also like to thank you for sending me my scarf which I mislaid. It was so thoughtful of you. It's the small things that make such a difference. I'd also like to...

We would highly recommend it. It is easily accessed from the motorway & within easy reach of Kilkenny City.

Had top class meal in the main restaurant. Food was excellent and service very friendly. Loved the big space in the restaurant - no sense of being overlooked or overheard but still felt cosy. It was a freezing night outside but the whole area including bar and waiting room was toasty. Super hearing system obviously. Would strongly recommend.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Castle Durrow is located in the heart of the village. A fully restored, magnificent 300 year old Mansion with luxurious bedrooms each with their own atmosphere. Our restaurant is located in stunning south-facing rooms, decorated with mirrors and hand blocked wallpaper, our head chef creates delicious seasonal menus, popular with visitors and locals alike. We are a terrific place to relax and let romance and Guinness de-stress the mind and body in our cosy bar and reception rooms. In the Magnificent garden, with fabulous scented borders and a walled garden, from where our chefs pick their daily produce, you can stroll around for hours or have a more vigorous walk by the river and in the hills adjoining the castle. A stay at the castle with Dinner and some romance would not be complete without a beauty treatment in our salon , aptly named the Powder box ! ... more   less
