My wife and i stayed at Castle Durrow for one night and only wish that we could have stayed longer. Castle Durrow is a haven of Peace and Tranquility. The decor is original, eclectic and very tastefully chosen. The bar food was excellent and the breakfast selection was extensive and excellent. The staff throughout are friendly, courteous and helpful and...

My Husband, Son and myself visited by chance your hotel yesterday evening and had a lovely meal in your lounge. "Best Paté ever" was my husband's comment about his starter. I did have a taste and must agree that the flavours were just devine. Our main courses were perfect. We could only manage one dessert which my Son had (Bakewell...

We stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast. The hotel is lovely and has a nice garden in the back and nice view of the countryside to the front. Dinner was nice, breakfast was ordinary if we're honest. Staff were very good, pleasant and always asking if we were ok for coffee or tea. Unfortunately there's not a lot...

Dear Sasia, Thank you very much for your review, I appreciate the time you took . You are right , we have no gym or pool because we decided that that is not the place we want to have , we want people to come and relax . Our gardens are in my opinion beautiful and very extensive, our gardeners...

We visited the restaurant in Castle Durrow on several occasions. Although amazed by the place itself we were never really impressed by the food. Can be really crowded over the weekends. Staff doesn't stop you from looking around if you are interested to see the hotel part

Little haven!! - group of friends called to Durrow Castle, relaxed over breakfast, followed by a fab walk by the river (aprox 2 hours) and finished off with coffee before returning home. What a lovely experience - very relaxing, great food, wonderful staff. See you all soon again! Anna

We visited there for my friends 50th birthday. For the moment we arrived the staff couldn't be more helpful. The room was very large. Food was really excellent. The only thing that let it down was the crockery in the bar was a bit cafe i.e. Plain white. Something fancier would have suited the class of the place. It's only...

Hi Gavin , Thank you for your review AND the recommendations! I know the crockery is white , I sometimes feel other ways of presenting the food can be a bit gimmicky, but maybe you are right and I'll look into it 🙂 Kindest Regards, till soon, Shell

The place is magical. Wonderful food and service and the rooms are so unique and different with tons of character at really good value for money. I cannot recommend this place enough. The town of Durrow is also beautiful with a cozy pub by the river just outside the castle gates. Amazing on a sunny day.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Castle Durrow is located in the heart of the village. A fully restored, magnificent 300 year old Mansion with luxurious bedrooms each with their own atmosphere. Our restaurant is located in stunning south-facing rooms, decorated with mirrors and hand blocked wallpaper, our head chef creates delicious seasonal menus, popular with visitors and locals alike. We are a terrific place to relax and let romance and Guinness de-stress the mind and body in our cosy bar and reception rooms. In the Magnificent garden, with fabulous scented borders and a walled garden, from where our chefs pick their daily produce, you can stroll around for hours or have a more vigorous walk by the river and in the hills adjoining the castle. A stay at the castle with Dinner and some romance would not be complete without a beauty treatment in our salon , aptly named the Powder box ! ... more   less
