My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous 10 days at the Royalton Blue Waters in Montego Bay.Our Butlers Judikay and Cerise were lovely making sure we felt special and that we enjoyed lots of little perks and surprises every day especially on my 63rd birthday which we celebrated during our stay. We are beach/ocean people and had no trouble whatsoever getting lounge chairs with palapa shade every day George one of the beach attendants made sure we had all we needed and checked in with his charming island beach vibe every so often to make sure everything was great. The beach is well supervised by the security team and the beach vendors were respectful anytime we politely declined their wares. Sonja was sure to make certain we were provided cold beach drinks and there were lots of dry beach towels available for after swimming. We enjoyed a la carte dining which was arranged for us by our butlers based on our choices and the buffet was also great for us as I am vegetarian for which there were nice healthy selections and my husband enjoyed local lamb and oxtail stews and curries. The entertainment was very good though not every night. We enjoyed especially the two reggae bands we on the main stage. Our one complaint was that on several nights there were "stage wars" between the Blue waters and Hideaway sides of the resort with competing music blaring from the stages such that we could not fully enjoy the vocalist who was amazing. It was also confusing that as diamond club adults we were never entirely sure what amenities were open to us as the Hideaway is adults only but with no diamond club option . That said, all in all a fabulous vacation with lots of fun at the Martini bar and restaurants and the hours melted away on the beautiful beach.

This was our third time visiting this beautiful resort, and it continues to exceed our expectations! We traveled with friends and our two young kids, and once again, we had a fantastic experience.
The food was exceptional with a wide variety to choose from, ensuring everyone found something they loved. The staff, as always, was friendly and quick to respond to any requests. Our rooms were spotless, and the property was well-maintained, with clean pools that were always lively and fun thanks to the engaging and interactive activities organized by the staff.
The beach was also a highlight — it was well-kept and swept several times a day, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy the sun. The resort’s team was incredibly helpful, especially when it came to booking dinner at the a la carte restaurants. Since we were a party of six with two young kids, it wasn’t always easy to get a reservation at convenient times, but the staff worked with us to find a solution, and we were able to dine comfortably together.
A special mention goes to the barmen, who were wonderful with the kids, creating a wide range of delicious, kid-friendly drinks on the spot.
Special thanks to Theodore for his exceptional attention and accommodations during our stay!
P.S. After reading some recent negative reviews about this resort, we were initially worried, but knowing the Royalton chain, we were skeptical. However, none of the concerns turned out to be true, and we are already planning our next vacation to the Royalton Resort.
Overall, the Royalton resort continues to impress, and we are already looking forward to our next visit. The experience was amazing once again, and we’ll definitely be back!

Initially I was worried about this hotel as we were moved from the Princess Grand as it wasn't complete and some of the reviews were not great. There are a few things I would like to call out, if you are not prepared to embrace the Jamaican culture, don't go to the island, I read a number of reports where people expect the staff to be their servants and I saw this first hand. If you are respectful and kind their warmth and respect comes in abundance, not once did I experience poor customer service or slow service, yes we tipped, these people work 6 days a week and they are long days and deserve to receive tips, they did a great job. There were some stand out members of staff for us Marcus, Tameka, Raymond, Roy, Opheal, Ivan, Lethworth and Gwendaline, that were truly the most wonderful generous people you could meet, and once they knew it was our anniversary they spoilt us so very much. The island is also recovering from a hurricane so yes some of the palm umbrellas needed repairing, which were underway, if you don't want to worry about this, don't go in Hurricane season. The music is on most of the time, that is the vibe in Jamaica so again if that isn't your thing, don't go. We have 2 older daughters and there was plenty for them to do and enjoy. In all the restaurants and bars not once did we have a poor meal, the food in Zen and the Steakhouse was the best, if you are after fast food and junk this isn't the place for you. I witnessed some absolutely awful behaviour where people were calling waitresses with a noise, no name, statements like 'I pay your wages' and even shouting at reception, if you behave like this you genuinely don't deserve their respect. Our room was lovely, ocean view, A/C worked non stop no issues, hairdryer powerful, room and mini bar restocked daily and we didn't have one issue booking a restaurant on the App, you need to logon on the day for the day or the day after. We did consider going Diamond Club but I truly do not think it is worth it. There are some areas that need some maintenance but this is normal in a resort that has been open a while and there were a number of people tackling some of these jobs. My absolutely view is if you embrace the culture, the people, respect everyone you will have a fantastic time. My final point is the night time entertainment was one of the best we have seen and we have visited the island on four occasions. Thank you RBW X

This was the worst travel experience I have ever had in my life. I booked a package online that was to include roundtrip transport, paid a deposit and then paid the almost 4K balance when I arrived. Get ready to check out to then be asked to pay an additional $120 for the transport which was included in the over $4K package price I paid for my stay ans the crazy thing is they don’t present this to you until you come down to check out and get on your transport. They don’t tell you at check in, they don’t tell you when you arrange your pick up time. In addition to the fact that the resort had no hotwater this morning for showers, the showers in 3 out of the 6 rooms other family members booked kept shutting off, the food in the indian restaurant, italian restaurant and the buffet were disgusting which at least 20 out of 25 of the people in my family that traveled all agreed with. Everyone expects a tip but the resort doesn’t have change available, they don’t clean the swip pools daily and they run out of wash cloths daily, you only get towels once a day and even though you have a swim up they don’t provide pool or beach towels for you to use for the loungers or to dry off with. You pay for 2 adults and 2 kids in a room and they only give you 3 towels to dry off with and 2 handtowels because they are out of wash cloths and when you ask for a manager on property their isn’t one available and they can only give you a comment card in all my years of traveling I have never been so disappointed and the front desk staff is down right rude especially Sabrina at the front desk who down right repeatedly told me what I had to do when I asked to speak with a manager because this made no sense. I would never recommend anyone staying here unless you are ready to be mistreated, ripped off, take cold showers. The staff by the pool was excellent and the staff at Nexus tours the third party vendor who at least attempted to assist me was very respectful but every woman in my group of 25 felt disrespected by some of the staff on property at least once during our 5 day stay.

Dear ashley f, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback regarding your recent stay with us. We deeply regret the negative experiences you and your family encountered during your visit. This is certainly not the standard we strive to maintain, especially for loyal guests such as yourself who have previously enjoyed Royalton resorts. Clear communication at check-in and throughout the stay is critical, and we will address this with our team. We are very sorry for the issues with hot water, the frequent interruption of showers, and the lack of cleanliness in the swim-up pools. These are basic amenities that should have been consistently provided. We will be conducting thorough inspections and maintenance to address these problems immediately. The food quality you described at our Indian, Italian restaurants, and the buffet falls short of our standards. We will be reviewing your feedback with our culinary team to make the necessary improvements to ensure all guests enjoy a satisfying dining experience. Your feedback will be shared with our housekeeping and front desk teams to ensure these issues are rectified. It's heartening to hear that you found our pool staff and Nexus tours team respectful and helpful. We will acknowledge their efforts and ensure their level of service is emulated throughout the resort. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve. We hope you will consider giving us another chance in the future to provide you with the exceptional service and experience you rightfully expect. Sincerely, Management Team.

Here is my 100% honest review. The beach is beautiful, the resort is okay, the food is okay, some of the staff are rude, some of the staff are amazing. We kept comparing our experience to the Royalton in Negril, where we stayed two years ago, and Montego Bay Royalton couldn’t compete. We stayed in the Hideaway at both resorts. Let me start by saying the Hideaway in Montego Bay is not hidden away… it’s directly beside the family resort with very little separation. This trip we were trying to decide if we wanted a swim out room or to try Diamond club with a butler. We had a beautiful swim out in Negril, but we noticed in videos and pictures, the swim outs in MoBay didn’t go anywhere, it’s just a tiny pool, so we chose Diamond Club. Sounds fancy… it was not. Our room was very nicely laid out with a large living area, separate king bedroom and a large bathroom with jacuzzi tub. All great… except the pillows and mattress. Balcony was large, but said it was ocean view… technically, yes, we could see the ocean, I suppose. What we thought would set it apart was the service. After waiting a very long time for our luggage to be sent to our room, and a couple incorrect dinner reservations, we were not pleased with the butler service either. Tessa (make this woman a manager!) and Dexter saved them in this area. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. I would still choose swim out over butler, if you’re trying to decide. The Diamond Club Hideaway beach is literally directly beside the family beach, so if you’re hoping for an adults only beach, this isn’t it. Unlike Negril, where the Hideaway is completely set apart. The Diamond Club bar, however, was great. Stephen, Jamie Lee, Sonya and Maria were fabulous. This is also where we met Moriah, who is a total vibe… I hope The Royalton appreciates the talent they have in her. There were a handful of really great staff who unfortunately get lost in the sea of indifferent, downright rude or lazy staff. Some staff went out of their way to make sure guests were happy: Tessa, Dexter, Wayne, Sonya, Samantha, Maria, Julicia We went to visit the family side, which is way more modern, has much nicer cabanas and feels more upscale, which made us question why we were paying more for less in Diamond Club Hideaway. Many things felt like they had seen better days on our side, from cabanas that were falling apart or had ripped mattresses, to the older buildings and the Diamond Club “island” that looks like it was just forgotten, we strolled over to check it out, only to find (what could have been something very special) had broken down cabanas and garbage everywhere. Jamaica is gorgeous, the beach was beautiful. It was not a bad vacation, it just didn’t meet our expectations. I would go back to Negril, if I go again

The staff is the only reason the hotel is getting 1 star.
Went to a wedding with a few of my friends for a 5 day 4 night vacation. I saw the negative reviews but I had to see for myself. First I paid for a room that was supposed to have 2 queen sized beds for me and my roommate. The room I was given had 2 twin sized beds. Every time I moved I feared that the bed would break.
I didnt have any hot water the time I was there. I only had warm and cold. They sent someone to check the water and I was told it was the boiler and they’ll fix it later in the day. They never fixed it and never came back to check it. Some days I wasn’t given towels or water when housekeeping came up and if I called I didn’t receive it until the next day. The hotel also needs some remodeling.
When I came to the room I didn’t have an iron. I requested an iron and they told me there isn’t many irons on the resort but each room had a steamer. The steamer I had was broken and wouldn’t heat up I requested a replacement and the replacement I received was also broken. I told them I’d rather get an iron and it took 2 days for them to find an iron for me.
I will not be coming back to this hotel. The staff was the best part but even they were understaffed and could Only do so much.

Let me preface this by saying I’ve been to the Royalton in Negril and St. Lucia so going to the Blue Waters resort was thoroughly disappointing. We stayed on the family side (non Diamond)
1. The rooms are ok. Starting to show wear and tear. Phone was broken, only worked on speaker. Our friends were in a room where the air conditioner only worked on high. Even though it’s all inclusive, you have to call to have them restock the fridge. Walls are thin. Could hear the tv all night from the person next to us. 2. Food is mediocre at best. The same options would be at multiple stations so there were days the variety was limited. The specialty restaurants had no availability while we were there yet when we walked by, they were mostly empty every night. 3. Service is horrible in the buffet. We would order drinks at the beginning of our meal that would take a long time to come or never come. We ordered room service once. They said it would take 45 minutes but it never came. Our friends ordered room service and it took 2.5 hours to get chicken and French fries. Almost the entire staff needs to be retrained in delivering good customer service. There are some exceptions but the majority ignore you unless you’re tipping. 4. The vibe staff works hard to create content that is entertaining during the day and night but by 10 pm, with the exception of the sports bar, there is nothing to do on the property. 5. The pool and beach were lovely but the chair covers are thoroughly disgusting. They are dirty and have visible mold. It was windy while we were there and the cushions were constantly blown around and into pool. We repeatedly had to keep retrieving towels and cushions even though uninterested staff were nearby and unhelpful.
Overall, we felt our vacation was ruined by selecting this resort. Each day you found yourself getting annoyed with the lack of basic things and mediocre service. There is no attention to detail. It may be that we stayed on the non-Diamond side (for the first and last time) but one should not expect to return from a very expensive trip feeling cheated of rest and relaxation.

So, I wrote one review to help the 1 main person who helped us here. Here is the real review of my overall stay:
Thurs - no service at all very disappointed. Fri - better after meeting Nadine! Sat, Sun and Monday were cool.
- Routine is stale. (Vybe team) not their fault because they are great but it’s repetitive. - Food not hot and below avg for what ur paying. Should be way more options than American junk food (old pizza etc) very hit or miss. You should allow guests to order room service from any of the restaurants. - restaurant Reservations don’t work on the app - Tv with WiFi streaming doesn’t work. - Not enough rotation of music at the pool and beach area. - Room service ordering closed 1 hr 15 min before it was supposed to and can only order limited items. - If you have never been to a royalton u would be lost. Not a very good job explaining where things are. - Staff are hit/miss not very friendly but others are. The cleaning and landscaping people mostly just talk to themselves and look you right in the face and walk by. - Paper straws are cheap and there are other durable plant based/economy friendly straws. - Curtains Don’t close out all light and bright patio light is on all night with no option to turn it off! - Even though we were at adults only when having to eat anywhere there are kids there running around. - Ordered basic Room Service at 9 by calling. Didn’t come until after 11pm and the resort was practically empty.
Positives: - The relaxed vibe is unmatched. - Rooms are clean and modern - Pool is amazing - Best food was in Italian place. - Drinks will be made the way you ask for them - Staff aren’t pressuring you for tips. - WiFi on property is pretty good - Beach is well kept.
Overall it felt like the establishment was trying to get the most out of you but give you the least.
Don’t think I’d return. Would rather do Royalton CHIC in Cancun. This may have turned me off from Royalton properties. At most this is a 3 day stay type of property.

The front desk staff were amazing and the Lobby bartenders were top tier. Berry, Julian, Tavan & Jovi-Ann provided us with wonderful service and great drinks that had us coming back night after night for a good time. Also, the swim up bar staff was excellent too; Maurice, & Jevaughn along with others provided us with wonderful service and drinks as well. All of the bartenders were the highlight of our stay at the Royalton. However, as far as the resort it's self. Housekeeping was good, my only complaint is the inconsistency with stocking the room with needed supplies and the lack of changing bedding. My room had issues with the water, my water in the shower cut off numerous of times and the Air Conditioner had stopped working for a short period of time. We did receive the run around about being accommodated at the restaurants on the resort. We were told that we had to pay $30.00 per person (due to a large party of 26 people ) to eat at the restaurant that was already included in the initial price that covered our stay. Another family who had a total of 27 guests was accommodated without any additional payment. We also tried to set up a family dinner on the beach which we had met with the General Manager of food & beverage (Filipe) and he was supposed to get back with us about it but failed to do so. He told us that we can eat at the main dining hall together instead, which we had done so the entire time; we just wanted something more nice and intimate for our final night in Jamaica. We also received a $300.00 credit to each room upon booking, that we had limitations on what we could use it towards. Nobody mentioned the $300 credit to us upon arrival it wasn’t until the end of the week we were notified about getting a coupon that we can use. It was impossible for us to use the entire $300, with so many limitations and within a short amount of time. Finally, the life guards leave the pool at 5pm, per the sign posted outside of the pool . The pool is still open but it is swim at your own risks. We were kicked out of the pool due to a wedding reception going on near the pool. It was unfair to my family and I because we paid to stay on a all inclusive resort just like the other family and we should have been able to enjoy ourselves without any restrictions because of someone else's event.
Overall, the resort isn’t a bad place to stay at while in Jamaica but I do believe they should adjust some things to improve their customer’s experiences.

We are thrilled to hear that you had a positive experience with our front desk staff and lobby bartenders, particularly Berry, Julian, Tavan, and Jovi-Ann, as well as the swim-up bar staff Maurice and Jevaughn. Your kind words will be shared with them, and we are glad they were able to make your stay enjoyable. However, we are genuinely sorry to learn about the issues you encountered during your stay. This is certainly not the standard we aim to maintain, and we will address these concerns with our housekeeping and maintenance teams to prevent future occurrences. Clear communication and transparency are vital, and we regret that this was not your experience. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we will take your comments seriously to make the necessary adjustments to improve our services and guest experiences. We hope you will consider giving us another opportunity to provide you with a better stay in the future. Thank you for staying with us and for your thoughtful review. Warm regards, Management Team.

I came home on Sunday after a 2 week holiday. We opted for a diamond club stay. Room was worth it. Diamond beach was not as good as the normal beach, this was due to the lack of WiFi and no nearby shower, which I like after swimming in the sea. A butler was included with a diamond club member, which we did not use because we are mainly self-employed and have an independent attitude (we only called on the butler for booking a restaurant at the resort and/or for filling the refrigerator in our room). The butler repeatedly made a comment that we were 'low key'. Because we made little use of the butler, this was not entirely appreciated by the butler and she tried to do something for us in all kinds of ways, which was not experienced as entirely pleasant. An example of this was that we asked for a taxi that could take us to a desired location, we were asked for 150 dollars for 40km. Anyway, when we indicated that we thought this was a lot, she immediately dropped the price to $120. We agreed and kept a second outing open. On our last day we asked which restaurants were open at the resort, as this sometimes varied. The butler indicated that the buffet, for example, was closed and that only TexMex and Steakhouse were open. Our choice was TexMex at 7pm. However, according to her, only 6pm was still available, all other days it was never a problem to make a reservation at our request as space is reserved for diamond club members. Later in the afternoon we met our butler and he started the conversation about whether we wanted to go out after all. She forced us to eat out by saying the buffet was closed and could only give us a table at 6pm. In the end it turned out that the buffet was open and she lied about it, it felt unfair. She just tried to get us to take the taxi again so she could keep money from this. They don't seem to realize that a lot of money is already being paid for an all-inclusive holiday there.
Food from the restaurant/buffet was excellent! Drinks are less good to say, all glasses are filled with ice cubes and if you ask for little ice or, for example, two ice cubes, they are not answered (at the outdoor bars) (possibly the all-inclusive concept to make a profit).
Resort is very clean, everything is well maintained, a 10 for hygiene, also for the rooms that are cleaned twice a day, excellent, much appreciated. Country is pleasant and pleasant. The sea was super blue and the beaches were beautifully white and clean.
Entertainment is a big deal and the vibe team does their best to make something of it.
