Beautiful place to live while in Jamaica and the customer service was wonderful. The food was amazing and the pool was really nice and refreshing. David really took good care of us and he communicated very well.

This was a last minute, hurried booking of a place I'd never seen, after another place to stay fell through. I was looking for a decent B&B. Well, I got a palace!
I got a beautiful suite, with a gorgeous four poster bed, an en suite bathroom that as spacious with lovely shower and jacuzzi style bath, a huge cable tv, and a balcony overlooking the pool. Retreat Guesthouse is comfortable, tastefully furnished, (I'm gonna pinch some of the ideas for soft furnishings in my own house) and Mrs Grant the proprietor is a treasure. A warm, dynamic woman who knows how to make a guest comfortable. The food was lovely, there's beautiful art by local artists on the walls, and as a female travelling on my own, who doesn't drive, they had a small shuttle type service that dropped you off at the luxury express coach station a 10 minute drive away for about ÂŁ6.
From the coach station, coaches zipped along to the key Jamaican tourist locations in air conditioned comfort. So Retreat Heights is a good place to stay transport wise.
I would DEFINITELY stay there again any time I visited Jamaica.

Landing in the country, arriving at this beautiful retreat was like a God send after an evening flight into Jamaica and under an hours drive to this location.

Greeted with a warm welcome then ushered to our immaculate rooms it was easy to settle into the well prepared environment. Waking up to the greenest of scenery the retreat guest house oozes profound tones of peace and tranquility. Boasting amazing views of mountains, sea, outdoor pool, bar and recreation area makes this the perfect get away. Everything I needed was right there.

The staff are polite, friendly, caring and will go out of their way to enure your needs are met

The sea is a 5 minute drive away and the town about 15 which is excellent. Also available close by is the Knucksford Express coach that is a very pleasant form of transport . This drives through ( and stops at) Negril- Falmouth- Ochi Rios- Kingston.

Authentic cuisine from the Island can be expected as the owner comes from a successful chef back ground. Expect a great trip when you visit. It won't be a matter of if you return but when. I can not wait to.

"No problem!"

This place is a junk and need to be removed from jamaica. These people dont know how to treat customers and dont know how to run a proper business. I wouldnt recommend to friends or family. How do you say nevermind. Dont waste your time. You will want a refund.

The minute we got to the guesthouse, we knew we couldn't stay. I've stayed in many place off the beaten path and in the towns of Jamaica, and this is not a place to spend your vacation. My boyfriend is from Trelawny and he also agreed we couldn't stay at this negative place. There is no way to get anywhere without a cab and the vibe is negative. To get to the beach, you have to rely on getting a ride because the road is dangerous to walk. The only place to eat is there, again with out an expensive cab ride, and the restaurant is expensive! However even though the place was completely empty, and they had screwed up and didn't have our reservation, she still charged us the full amount for 1 week! She is completely greedy! I'm still fighting the bill months later!
If you like the area, stay at Fisherman's Inn on Glistening waters. You can walk to beaches and Gloria's bar and food down the street is what Jamaica is about. FIREBUN retreat guesthouse!!!!!!!!!!

Stayed at the property with a group of friends (about 10) - 2 per room. Our room was large and very spacious and everything looked in place but there was no AC. One of the beds had some tiny insects in between the sheets so my roommate could not sleep in it. Breakfast was a disaster. The food prepared was not sufficient for the group. But the worst thing about it is as one of the helpers was bringing out more food for the group, the lady manager of the property actually yelled at her to take it back to the kitchen. And did I mention she was watching each and everyone as we served ourselves at the buffet table from the corner of her office which had tinted windows...Anyway, long and short of it - that was poor customer service and for that, we would not be going back. Besides, for the price the property charges - the least you could get is enough food.

We showed up unannounced after the episode at the other Falmouth hotel, and were graciously given a room, even though the owner was away.

The room was clean, fairly spacious, and the view was great. The pool was welcome, and we haven't watched TV for 3 weeks!

It is hot though! So be sure to ask for the a/c if you need it!

Free continental breakfast is also included - toast and fruit, and they work around special requests - we like coffee early!

I have been to Jamaica over 6 times in the last 5 years and this is the best hotel I have stayed in (and I have stayed in Sandals, Half Moon and many other 4 or 5* resorts in Montego Bay and Ocho Rios).

I'm not entirely sure why people have deiced to give negative feedback on this Guesthouse and can only assume they were unfamiliar with the area, were looking for a either a hedonistic, dance-hall inspired holiday or just didn't understand what this Guesthouse is about???

Retreat Guesthouse is exactly what is says in the title, its a RETREAT, a secret hideaway where you can escape the hustle and bustle of Jamaica's over populated tourist spots Montego Bay and Ocho Rios but its location between the two parishes makes it close enough to still drive into to get some of the action when needed!i

Falmouth is a small developing parish NOT in the middle of nowhere but neatly located in between Montego Bay and Oho Rios making it an idyllic oasis for honeymooners, couples and families.

The owner is a COMPLETE angel, she did everything in her power to make us feel at home, feeding us AMAZING home cooked traditional Jamaican food on a daily basis at very reasonable prices and providing a shuttle service to and from the beach or into town whenever we felt the need.

The website and pictures of the hotel are EXACTLY as they are shown and are no way misleading (see my personal pictures attached) .

The rooms are spacious, clean and all have there own closets, en suite bathrooms, satellite TV and ceiling fans.

If you are looking for a tropical getaway then Retreat Guesthouse is for you!!

PLEASE DON'T LET THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS PUT YOU OFF!!

On the internet the pictures are gorgeous however what you see is not what you get. What they don't tell you is this place is in the bushes plus in order to use the "hot tub" you need to pay a fee($10), a simple sandwich costs $10 (bread and cheese etc).

We did not feel safe at all plus after dinner one basically had to go to sleep as it seemed everything was shut down by 8 pm. We made the mistake of asking for some hot tea upon arrival to the Retreat which they gave to us in a covered bowl of sugar only to our dismay when we lifted the bowl ....we saw ants running away!

The business phone is also the "managers" cell phone #. Bottom line, when we got there we wanted to leave as this is not where we wanted to spend the rest of our vacation. BEWARE of booking this place. If you made a mistake and booked it the "manager" will not return your money for the time you did not stay.

Please note when we stayed we found out this place is not approved by the Jamaican Tourist Board for guests. (We found this out the hard way, as we spent a portion of our vacation trying to get some money back and had to go to the Jamaican Tourist Board plus the police station however the "manager" refuses to give any money (We told her to take the money for the time spent and the cancellation fee and just return a portion however she still refuses.

In the end we left this place and went elsewhere and had a fabulous time in Jamaica despite the above.

My wife and I stayed there .firstly , we had to find our own ride to get there after having paid through travelocity to get there. secondly the room was ok but the towels were dirty. there was no soap to take a shower. Fortunately i had brought my own. The Owners customer service behaviour was beyond poor. when we arrived they treated us as if we had no right to be there because we are black. i wanted to no judge them. i told the lady hello three times before she finally decided to answer. they never smiled and made sure to give us the attitude to let us know we are not welcome there. Yet they always smiled with the whites.
