Overall I had a great time at the resort with my wife for our 5th Anniversary and I believe that it has significant potential to be transformed into an even more fantastic destination.

Great Picture Opportunities
1. The poolside has an interesting design and looks fantastic in the nights when the coloured lights are on.
2. The scenery is great as you walk around the island.
3. Surroundings appear to be well maintained.
Good Food
1. My wife and I agreed that the food was good.
2. Complimentary breakfast included fruits, toast and scrambled eggs. Serving sizes turned out to be larger than we expected.
3. Other dishes we tried included the grilled chicken burger, stripped chicken fried rice, pasta, chicken and chips, chicken pizza and chicken soup.
4. Service at the restsurant was good. Meals took between 10mins to 25mins to be served.

Room was acceptable
1. We arrived early at 11:30am at the resort and had planned to have lunch before checking in at 2:00pm but we were pleasantly surprised to be informed that we can check in right away since the room is ready.
2. The room was clean and in order.

My wife and I had a 2 day break here and had a lovely, relaxing, peaceful experience. It was spoiled only by the indifference/rudeness at reception on both check in and departure, and slow meal service.

Our initial lunch took over an hour to arrive, as did dinner on our second night. Given that only 3 rooms in the entire resort were occupied this is poor....we were told it is worse when they are busy!

Many rooms that had been occupied had not been cleaned and the doors left open. Not nice to walk past, or smell, and the hygiene factor, especially given covid, was unacceptable.

On a positive note, the trip to Baracara falls is lovely, not to be missed, and Anthony and most of the staff are very polite and helpful....but not the receptionist or chef!

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Aruwai H2O Resort. Although, we had a major issue with the cleanliness of our room. I requested a new room after one night of a random pungent smell and the hostess told me " No". Im not for arguing but we are clearly not in Kansas! Customer Service/ Hospitality training is really needed for the front desk staff. After 3 additional days (I finally found the source of the smell), my room was changed and I was NOT happy with the switch but at least "no smell". What SAVED the ENTIRE vacation!!! The kitchen staff!!! Chef Jason Prince and his soux chef Devon were AH-may-Zing!!!! I only eat an Ital diet (vegan) and they accommodated and catered to my palate!!!! We were looking forward to our meals daily. Each day the Chef would out do the day before!!! The food was Delicious!!!! Kudos to the chef😍😍. The waitsatff were very nice and looked out for my group. Thank you to Petal!!! She was the best always inquiring about our meals, letting us know what the chef was creating for us! Now, that transportation is no longer an issue. I will be back!!! P.s. Tourists like convenience. Speedboats straight from Parika!

This is not a “resort”. Amenities listed on website are nonexistent. Prices are not warranted based on the condition of the property, hotel rooms and poor service.

Getting on aruwai boat to get to the “resort” the captain, John, waited until everyone had life jackets on and luggage was on boat to tell us it would be $500 more per person because other passengers canceled. Looks like he does this often as other reviews stated the same issue. First red flag.

Upon arrival, pool was filthy, green, water low and water floats/balls were covered in mold. Pool had particles floating in it and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks…

Game room is completely unusable. Pool balls missing, zero ping pong balls for ping pong table, basketball games both broken. Volleyball net missing…trampoline rusted and broken..garbage throughout the property.

Food was mediocre and took over an hour when the “resort” was not busy. Employees just stared at us when we walked into dining room. Tried to buy a water and was told they wouldn’t have any until the afternoon.

Chairs broken, no cushions, dirty furniture everywhere. No hot water, tv in room didn’t work, rooms were never cleaned, wifi nonexistent, speaker system horrible quality, broken ice makers, pool not cleaned properly which bleached bathing suit. Fountains filthy and not turned on.

Would not recommend. Do not waste your money here.

Well, I can't say It wasn't an adventure. So for that, It was fun. We missed our boat due to traffic and hired a boat, that took 5 hours. We got to the hotel and first thing the pool wasn't filled up, which is probably THE biggest draw of the hotel. Service was terrible, no one really told the truth. They said they would give a discount, but didn't, said food was included, but It was a very limited menu and the rest was charge and very expensive.

Everything was expensive.

Rooms were nice. Wifi didn't work at all. There is no fitness center. The food was decent.

Leaving was frustrating, we came for noon for the boat then It didn't come till like, 1230, 1245. Then went to a following port. Left the hotel at noon, got the the final dock at 3:30. It wasn't super relaxing, everything cost money.

Would 100% recommend double triple checking the pool is actual filled before leaving and then also being prepared for them to lie about It being filled.

I wouldn't encourage anyone to stay here more than one night.
There was only 6 of us the first night, service was ok but second night was worse. Menu options were consistently unavailable. Service for food and drinks were poor, and took a long time to receive, especially food. Food was not good aside from Chicken Piccata and the fish. Pizza was terribly made.

Jetskis and Spa service not available; therefore limits activities that can be done here aside from be in the pool once you have gone to the Barracara Falls and returned.

The serving staff looked unpleasant and or acted like they could not understand and several gaps with communication. I was also charged for someone else's drinks and had to plead to have it removed off my bill.

10pm everything is off, no music or activities and the Wifi is very very bad and unstable. The gift shop is closed as well, with no options to get any food or drink after hours. Contacting the office or security desk there was no answer; therefore now becomes a security risk as in if you needed an emergency the resort literally turns into a ghost town with no staff for assistance. You are literally on an island with no access to anything. Raymond and Vikram/Anthony are helpful but can only do so much. Do not spend your money on the Bartica tour either.

This could become so much better, but in the meantime it is definitely not a resort nor should not be referred to as such.

Was there to celebrate our dad birthday, the food was great, it did take a little time but it was very flavorful. Just need some fixing in the washroom facility right next to the restaurant also by the gift shop, the customer service sucks, inattentive waitresses and they seemed naive when asking for service, they were all on their phones just in a corner carrying on with their own conversations forgetting to serve or even check up, I understand if they were having a bad day, but still try to give a smile, and they need more proper training, as for the bartenders, they were quite perverted and the drinks were heavy on alcohol, myself and family couldn't even enjoy a proper cocktail, needs more consistency and a so called manager which seemed very ghetto the way she talked, it was scary, and a bit rude, I even felt uncomfortable with the way she kept staring at me, I think she's a tyrant to the resort I would say, the animals are all caged up and looked so sad, not forgetting an old man saying he runs the resort shouting loud towards the staff. Needs many more improvements, maybe a better management system would help. I hope my next trip would be a mesmerizing experience.

I went to ARUWAI Resort for 4 nights and ended up extended my stay another 4 nights when my wife and son joined me on my business trip. The staffs are friendly and polite and not to mention the managers, who are always checking in to ensure that our stay is well spent. Food great and within minutes after requesting room service an attendant is always there. I would strongly recommend this resort to anyone without any reservation. I call the Aruwai Resort a hidden gem. My only reservation with this resort is traveling by speed boat to get to this secluded romantic island it sits on. Therefore if you do enjoy traveling by speed boats you will not have a better experience. As for me, my plan is to use a helicopter to shuttle me to and from which I’m sure will be the topping of my for ever memorable experience of this Resort the next time I’m visiting.

To the ARUWAI RESORT team; on behalf of myself and family I say thank you!!!!!!

This was my second trip, last year I've visited the resort and it was much more relaxing, the service was better, the food was great, the music was relaxing, this time everything was catastrophic, our server was very rude and unprofessional, the food did take a while but it was good had better the last time I was there, the type of music was horrible it was like I'm in a dancehall party all day all night, last time it was lovely soft music, I think last time the things were handled by a fella named Anthony, which made our stay a very memorable moment. Our room was awesome, it had a mole smell last time but this time it was pretty nice. You guys need a better marketing strategy also. Regards Juliana
