Great place have been coming here for years and never get sick of it, tony and the crew are great and they are consistently upgrading the park which is great, the location is great, literally right beside the lake and out of the sometimes busy town of twizel at this time of the year.

Very nice place. It was a bit expensive but the room was amazing!! We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was great, the bed also great. Bathroom nice too. The kitchen was ok. The wifi was so so, the signal wasn't very strong and didn't always get good reception. They gave us some milk which was really nice. I would... More

Thanks for your recommendation. Internet reception can be a bit tricky because of our location. We appreciate the feedback. More

I stayed in a cabin which had a double bunk bed with a single at the top. There was also a small area for hanging up clothes and a storage area. The heater was a blessing on a very cold night. The shower and toilet facilities were great. The kitchen, dining with TV area was of a high standard, also... More

We had a great unit, warm, roomy and very clean with excellent facilities and a view of the lake. Very comfortable bed, and excellent hosts who care. Thankyou. We will be back. Always a great area to visit summer or winter. Wend-Ed

The room had the biggest and best bed we have encountered anywhere on our travels beautiful view on the lake and mountains and very well appointed, very clean and well worth a stay for a few days or more. Handy also to go to Mt.Cook and Lake Tekapo. The restaurants in Twizel are average but you can prepare your own... More

I had just one night here in a cabin. As others point out, they are basic, but represent excellent value for the price. Check-in was very friendly and helpful and I had a cabin in a quiet spot at the back only a few hundred metres to the toilet block. Cabin was certainly old and a bit dingy but had... More

Nearing the end of two week tour of South Island in a motor home. The lake is beautiful and a very short walk from the site. Unhappily this the worst camp site we have experienced. Shower room for men dirty, wet floor and messy wash basins/ benches. Rubbish bin very smelly and full of flies. Whole site a bit like... More

Hi On the evening you stayed with us there were 179 other guests using the facilities. As the camp is next to a lake, we do get insects that come inside when the lights have been left on. Thank you for pointing out about our rubbish skips. We have had a couple of weeks of in excess of 30 degree... More

We have been camping at Lake Ruataniwha for the past 6 years and found it excellent every time. Tony and his staff are outstanding and the facilities first rate. In reply to "HungryKiwiBro" comment we were in the camp site opposite and watched first hand what happened. He failed to mention that he only paid for a non powered site... More

Very friendly happy staff. Amazing huge sites creating a great outdoor atmosphere and night time skies. Amenities are thoroughly cleaned and newly tiled floors are great. Hot showers are great. Nice family feeling holiday park where the children can play freely. Well stocked shop with lollies for the kids. Kids rides on Thomas, bouncy castles, swim in lake (50m away)... More

Went there for a long weekend after booking 2 weeks in advance for our requested spot to get there and our booking hadn't been put into the "Book", so we were put in the worst spot next to stinky rubbish bins and constant vehicle traffic late at night and early morning. Now this time after booking 1 week in advance... More

These people were parked in a power site after booking in for non power. When asked very politely to move to the correct area they became extremely abusive and were evicted from the park. More
