Stayed just for one night but really delightful. Lake views from the property are lovely. About 10 min walk from main downtown area but very easy. And the owners, Jo and Ian Harper, are especially delightful and helpful. Sad to hear they're looking to retire but wish them the best. Really lovely stay and highly recommend.

Jo & Ian Harper's B & B is situated above the town of Wanaka with great views over the lake. With just two letting bedrooms, this is an extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated and furnished place to stay. There is a first floor lounge (great views) for the exclusive use of guests. It is set in luxuriant grounds. Jo & Ian...

Thank you for posting this review. We have been hosting for 20 years and are selling our home to move on now. It is heartwarming to know that we are still able to make our guests feel at home.

We stayed only one night, but Jo and Ian were great hosts, Jo getting us a last minute dinner reservation and Ian explaining cricket. The bedroom was comfortable, (and there was chocolate). We will definitely stay there again when we head back through Wanaka in a few years.

Returned for our 2nd visit.Just as we remembered ,with Jo and Ian greeting us warmly. Still as good as ever with a lovely breakfast. Had some enjoyable chats both at breakfast and when coming back in the evening. Ian advised us or should I say talked us into doing the Rob Roy Glacier walk. Really glad he did it was...

Jo & Ian make you feel very, very, ... welcome! They take a genuine interest in who their guests are, taking lots of time for you when you arrive, during breakfast... but without giving you the feeling they are "intruding your personal space" (wow, that sounds dramatic ;)). Location is a 5 to 10 minute walk to the lake and...

We spent 2 nights at Harpers and had a lovely time exploring the beautiful town and area. Jo and Ian were excellent hosts, and we had some very interesting and wide ranging conversations. The breakfasts were delicious especially the freshly cooked pancakes! Jo also booked tickets for Cinema Paradiso for our second evening which was a fabulous experience which every...

We loved our stay at Harpers as it combined a perfect location with friendly and helpful hosts. I had arrived a few days after hurting by back and Jo helped me cope with lotion and hot wheat bags, which managed to control the pain so that we could get around and see Wanaka. The room was large and had a...

We had a wonderful stay with Jo & Ian in Wanaka - they tried to help in any way they could, and made us feel very welcome. The room has a splendid view towards the lake too, and it's only a few minutes-walk to the lake and the city center. Plus, I thought they were very sweet as a couple!...

We enjoyed pretty much our two days in Harpers B&B. A short walk to the city centre, a quiet place with a beautiful garden, excellent vews to the lake and some enormous sequoyas standing like centinels. On top of all that Jo and Ian are very friendly. They gave us some useful advice about our trip and helped us with...

Harper's is a great combination of a great place to stay and fantastic hosts. The room accommodations have everything you could need with a large bed and an ensuite bathroom. Jo and Ian also give you the living room outside of the bedroom to yourself so you have additional space to spread out and socialize. Let's not forget the great...
