The restaurant and bar at this hotel are totally atmospheric of 100years ago, but the food and service are among the best. Worth the little drive if you are staying in Wanaka. This place will really make your holiday memorable

My company spent 2 nights at The Cardona Hotel - we rented out the whole venue for our 3 day annual conference/ski trip from Friday morning til check out Sunday morning. It is very conveniently situated close to the Cardrona ski resort, only a 40 min drive from Queenstown and 20 mins from Wanaka. The rooms were old fashioned, gorgeous...

We dropped in for a meal and glass of wine en route to Wanaka. Great food and a good laugh going over the local history of the hotel. A little haven pit stop and no doubt a good place to stay. Cosy inside with the fire going when you need it and a great beer garden out in the sun...

The hotel has much to recommend it - location, history, cleanliness, atmosphere. What set this place apart for me was the dinner. Actually, it wasn't even the food, which was great. (It seemed to be a popular place for residents of Queenstown and Wanaka.). What I was in awe of was the effortless service of the hosts, Gilda and Davide....

The hotel restaurant has a nice cosy feel. Beer is good. Food was very nice, although the pumpkin gnocchi was a little dry. Bangers and mash were delicious! The kids found the meals a little bit rich, but my kids are a bit on the fussy side. Overall a pleasant meal in a nice heritage filled setting.

I read a lot of bad reviews on here and almost didn't stay here before eventually having the privilege of staying at this exquisite little piece of history hidden in the Crown Ranges. Staff members might come and go as do many tourists whom expect table side service and ultra high speed fibre optic wifi. The reality is we are...

Half-way between Wanaka and Queenstown, the Cardrona Pub is a New Zealand Icon, fantastic old-world pub which caters for skiiers in the winter, tourists and locals all year around. Good food, great bar and excellent beer garden. Don't miss it!!!
