Feel like a castaway at our 10 room beach lodge, a perfect paradise for beach lovers, kite surfers and divers. An oasis of calm just five minute taxi ride from Nungwi's busy strip of music bars and hotels. Our bungalows are designed in a traditional Swahili style with coconut thatch roofs in a tropical garden setting, each with a sea view and sandy path down to our secluded pristine beach and the turquoise ocean. Stay with us and help us to develop our sustainability ethos to be an environmentally and socially responsible lodge.
I’ve had the best time at Sazani Beach Lodge! This hotels sets itself apart from other hotels in the region by applying a concept based on ecological and social responsibility. I was also explained that the hotel is linked to a local NGO. The daily food menu is limited but ingredients are always fresh and locally sourced. It was delicious. The service staff was very helpful and especially Omar, the bartender, with his happy and positive charisma made us feel just the same. The manager couple Dirk and Lucia do an amazing job, are very attentive and help wherever they can. One can see their wish to make every single guest's experience a special one. It was definitely a very special experience for me and I will return home with the feeling of leaving behind dear friends. Big…

I loved staying here. I love the managers Dirk and Lucia. Warm, friendly and very helpful. I was travelling solo here (I'm 52 and female). I felt safe here the entire time. I was there during elections and did not see anything that made me feel unsafe. Not once. The staff are very friendly and fun. Food was good. I booked in there for 1 week and ended up adding another 10 days onto my stay (total 17 days). Reasonable rates. Clean room with an amazing view. Best sunrises ever. It's a basic hotel. Don't expect the ritz Carlton. (Cuz that would be dull anyway!) it's everything you need. Including a very friendly resident dog named Jua Kali (hope I spelled that correctly). The beach, the view and the people that manage/ work at Sazani are what you go here for. I stayed in a few…

I arrived in Sazani Beach and I was warmly welcomed by the managers Dirk and Lucia. It felt like meeting old friends. The hotel has a familiar atmosphere and the staff is so friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend Sazani Beach Lodge. It is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a wonderful beach. Food is good and fresh and the prices are reasonable. Rooms are basic but confortable. I'm so sad that tomorrow I have to leave this wonderful place!!!

We stayed a few nights in Sazani and the more we saw of Nungwi the more we were convinced we made the right choice. It's relaxed and peaceful with a family vibe - it was originally a single residence and the other bungalows have been built in a low density fashion with plenty of garden in the surrounds and a wonderful aspect to the ocean, at the extreme southern end of the east coast resorts - mercifully quiet compared to the flurry of touts and party makers as you approach the other side. Lodging is simple (fans and mosquito net rather than ac) but with attention to detail. If you're after a resort where everything runs like clockwork to your command this is not for you - the friendly new managers are still adapting to the setting and at times it wasn't always clear how…

The staff was very friendly and the beach was amazing. The rooms are traditional bungalows and give you views of the unreal color of the water. We basically had the beach to ourselves but were also just a short walk from the town if we wanted some more nightlife.

My family and I stayed at Sazani Beach Hotel for 5 days, and we enjoyed every moment of it. We particularly enjoyed the long walks on the beach with the kids, exploring the coast line. What a stunning location! Without a doubt Sazani Hotel has the most tranquil and beautiful beach on this Island. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and managers, Dirk and Lucia. The friendliest couple ever! They really made our stay a memorable one! The food was really tasty. We loved the freshly made fruit juices and fruit in the morning for breakfast. My kids always felt free and at home! A Special Thanks to the wonderful and amazing staff and management for making our stay a pleasant one!

The Sazani Beach Lodge is like your own private island. Our beach front was secluded and quiet and the beach parties were only a short beach walk away or very short cab to where the popular tourist destinations were. The lodges contain very few guests and as we had a party of 6 we felt we had the resort to ourselves. The lodges were not glamorous but they were clean with outlets good shower and clean bathroom and nice bedding. (perfect for the price point) Breakfast was more than enjoyable everyday served with fresh fruit and juice and - Our whole crew looked forward to breakfast everyday. With a few set backs on our trip (no fault of the Lodge) the managers were more than helpful and accommodating. They really were part of the staff and helped them throughout the day in…

What a pleasure it was to arrive at Sazani Beach hotel, Nungwi, Zanzibar after two long flights from Melbourne Australia. Almost immediately we were dazzled by the smiles of managers Dirk and Lucia who immediately made us feel at home. The kind of welcome you rarely get, let alone at the end of a long journey. Our stay was a highlight in an action packed itinerary, it was the perfect spot to relax and recover from the flights and we were made very comfortable. The beds were perfectly firm and the rooms had a fantastic outlook to white sand, turquoise and aquamarine waters. it was an easy short stroll to frolic in the sea and a pleasant stroll to lunch and dinner with the on site dining facilities. There's not too many places I've been that are so beautifully close to the sea…
