Hi, as far as I know beaches are never private in Tanzania. The same applies to the beach along Zanzibar House. However, it has beautiful soft sand and is very wide with low tide so there's plenty of space to walk, play or go for a swim. From the Hotel you just walk through the back garden (with pool) straight onto the beach. March is in general part of the rainy season so maybe check out the weather for Zanzibar when you book.
