Great Food, excellent service and awesome views!
We ordered the "Monday $15 cheap meals", it was amazing and cooked to perfection. The service from the bar staff, to the waitress, to the chefs just awesome and quick! The cheap meal was a great size portion, the cut of meat was excellent and not cheap and nasty as you would think for $15 and the clean, crisp fresh salad at the side.
The toilets were soo clean, which is very important!!!! Would highly recommend "The Tap Room" for locals and tourists coming to Perth, any night of the week. Has such a good vibe and views to die for.

Our 9 person family have been enjoying Xmas Day lunch in the grand ballroom, at Joondalup Resort for the past five years and always been very happy. Unfortunately, this year we were more than disappointed for a few “minor”reasons, which could so easily have been rectified. It was very obvious that “cut backs” had been put in place when there was no stuffing to be had with our turkey - which, in actual fact, was like rubber. It was not a fresh turkey bird and imagine that it was turkey roll and I left mine on the plate, as did my husband. My husband is a great lover of prawns and mussels, but the prawns were much smaller than previous years and no mussels in sight . Cutbacks again. The oysters were too salty to eat so, hence, he left those too.
The sweets were the biggest disappointment of all, with no chocolate fountain for the children, which my grandson had been sooooo looking forward to. We so much loved dipping the strawberries and marshmallows into the fountain each year. This was replaced with “doughnuts “ which the children did not want!!!! So easy to put doughnuts on a hook.
After dinner I went to make myself a cup of tea, but the Ern was empty. I asked for some water and when it came back I made my tea and it was cold. I tried one more time, with another ern and then gave up.
We have always enjoyed our Xmas at the resort, with nice Xmas music playing (and I understand that the children like to be entertained) but the whole afternoon???????? The whole lunch time was noise and children’s music and games? What about the adults???? Entertainment for the children should have been in another room. Parents , and grandparents should not have to sit the whole lunchtime listening to a young girl shouting down the microphone to play children’s games and at $159 per head, it is just not right. We will be very hesitant in spending Xmas at the resort again at those prices.

We had a staycation at Joondalup Resort for 2 days of golfing. We played the Dune and Quarry courses on both days and were very impressed. Absolutely stunning courses and challenging. Fairways were immaculate and putting greens were perfect. Plenty of wildlife including a snake (that was a bit scary). Busy course and waiting was par for the course (excuse the pun) but it didn’t bother us as the scenery made up for it. The golf facilities were top class and staff in the pro shop were very pleasant.
We stayed at the resort and the room was spacious and clean, if not a little outdated. The bathroom tiles were slippery when wet which wasn’t ideal. But all in all, very nice.
The only downside was our dinner.
We ordered pork belly for entree, which was amazing and so very tasty and we looked forward to mains.
My partner ordered a burger which was nice but nothing outstanding.
I ordered a steak and that’s what I got with a pile of chips and nothing else. No salad, no vegetables, nothing. The steak was $36 and was grisly and overcooked. I did get offered some complimentary broccolini after complaining however they came out 20 minutes later. The manager was very apologetic and we got a reduced bill which was appreciated.
I’d recommend staying at the resort for the golf and the views, just don’t order steak for dinner!

We used to love having lunch at Cafe 28 overlooking the golf course; then they seemed to change kitchen staff or chef and they are nos uncompromising for people that have issues with certain diets, so we have avoided meeting family or friends there now which is very sad, the location is nice on a good day as is the parking. They just refuse to offer alterantives to my non dairy diet and low histamine diet. So every thing has to have beer batter on it. Surely it is not much trouble to make a batter with something else like lemonade for people that have these issues. We ordered a Turkish bun BLT and it had to have been the worse BLT ever. Just made with a lot of streaky fatty bacon, it had more fat on it than it had meat. BLTs here used to be so good too! But once again the kitchen stated they would not use anything else but the fatty streaky bacon. We are surprised being a sporting club, one would think they would have something less fatty and more healthy.

We came to JR to have the 2 hour all you can eat and drink. The buffet was roast which included potatoes, roast pumpkins, steamed veg and cauliflower bake. Also roast lamb and beef, Yorkshires and stuffing. There was also butter chicken curry with breads and rice and a selection of salad. We drank brut NV. It should have costs 69 AUSD, however we had a discount and for two it cost 103 AUSD. Well worth it. Waiting staff made sure we never went without wine.

Stayed here for a week whilst visiting family who live locally. Great facility and location, lovely rooms and very helpful staff especially in the restaurant where the team work tirelessly. We had many family get togethers here and the staff always ensured our needs were met. The manager of the team seemed to be able to deal not only with the restaurant but also with the many functions taking place daily. The pool area is lovely although I would have preferred better sun beds or at least with a comfy topping. My only other comment would be that the walkways linking the rooms need cleaning maintenance, not just a brush but a thorough clean. Perhaps it’s due.

Stayed for one night in a twin room with husband and kids as we had a funeral to go to the next morning. We have stayed twice before for weddings .
We booked a Kids Staycation rate for $269 which included a bucket of golf balls and clubs for the driving range, bottle of wine and , I was told, buffet breakfast .
I had looked online and we could have had the room for $199 and added breakfast for $50 - total of $249 - but after calling and checking the Staycation rate did include breakfast, we decided to spend the extra $20 so the kids could have a hit of golf after a long car trip and we could have the wine.
We used the golf clubs, had a comfortable nights sleep and arrived at breakfast at 8am, to be told our rate did not include breakfast. I argued to no avail. Even after I pointed out it would have been idiotic of me to book a more expensive rate that did not include breakfast when I could have paid $249.
There was no manager on site to talk to and the receptionist showed zero interest or compassion in our predicament. We had two kids with us and had to leave at 9am to be on time for the funeral and I had specifically called to check breakfast was included before booking so we could eat there.
The receptionist told us she could not authorise breakfast to be included and only offered that we wait until 9am when the manager would be starting work and ask her. It was 8.15am and we had to leave at 9. She refused to call the manager when I asked. So we had no choice but to leave as I was not about to shell out another $50 for breakfast. I told her to have the manager call me.
The manager did call me twice that morning, however my phone was on silent during the funeral. I managed to call back during the wake before midday and spoke to the assistant manager who was very apologetic, told me I was correct and offered to refund $50, as well as offerring us free breakfast should we stay again. A welcome change of attitude after the cold and verging on rude receptionist,
I don't know that we will be back and am failing to understand how a hotel cannot have at least phone access to a manager before 9am. What if an emergency occurred? It is not good enough. I wonder if the receptionist was instructed not to call the manager before 9 or took it upon herself to decide she wouldn't do it. Her attitude made it seem the latter.
I am also very suprised staff don't seem to know what the hotel rates include.

We stayed for 14 nights in room 221 while on a visit to the Perth area this hotel Could be so much better if the simple things were attended to the rooms are a bit dated travel plugs of no use whatsoever as the outlets are all at ground level
Bed was tired and not comfy pillows to soft and room no properly serviced every single day we had to ask for something . Staff all seemed pleasant enough and breakfast became mega repetitive I asked for eggs or an omelette and was told no coffee machine was like playing the slots at the casino if you got 1 after 3 attempts win win . My main bugbear was the pool area we were there to relax but trying to get one of the 27 sun loungers was like winning the lotto as folk just waltz in park there cars and pitch up at the pool, all day long and commandeer the loungers very uncomfortable ones when you get them I may add also lots off people getting drink served to them poolside in glasses not the done thing imo .we hit the beach a lot more than normal because of this situation .the grounds round the hotel are great lots off wildlife running around great to get so close to the rooos location is ok we didn’t have a car so walked around a lot just about 1 mile to shops cinema etc and beaches are 2 miles would I visit again not so sure

Hi Stephen I'm very sorry to hear that your stay was less than you expected, we do take customer reviews for discussion at management meetings and your comments will be addressed so thank you. It is a challenge with the sunloungers during our peak time and there shouldn't be any glasses in the pool area so this will also be discussed. Thank you.

High tea for girlfriends was very disappointing. It was a normal set up like for lunch. No pretty tea cups or plates like I would expect for high tea.The Champagne was lovely. One girlfriend had tea..it was served in a drinking glass which you could not hold because it was to hot and when she asked the waitress for a tea cup she looked at her like she had 2 heads and said no but you can have a coffee cup. Who doesn’t have a tea cup in a major resort and for high tea. You lost me there. The scones were nice. Next was the sandwiches which had been left out because the bread was hard on one side and it had just be turned over to the soft side. The other little things on the plate were a bit bland, One girlfriend had gluten free and the bread was like a hard little surfboard that you couldn’t bite into. Not nice at all. Desserts were strange. The shortbread was the nicest. Banana bread ? Strange for a high tea and it was a bit dry. A huge dice of dark chocolate sitting on a ting weeny disc of brandy snap. Way to dense and there is no way you could eat it. Just a tiny bit sitting on the tiny disc would have been better. It would have been lovely if it was all served on a high tea tier plate instead of trying to fit these large rectangle plates on a small table. All in all very disappointing.
Then the toilets was another not so nice experience. Someone had done a Huge number 2 and left it and it stank and another toilet had blood on the wall. We had reported it but it was still there smelling the toilet out 1/2 hr later.
Sorry for such a beautiful resort I was sadly disappointed.
