Hylatio Tourist Village is a hotel celebrated for its spacious rooms, though guests feel a revamp is due, highlighting maintenance and cleanliness concerns. The staff is often commended for their warmth and attentiveness, despite occasional service delays. While the immaculate grounds and amenities like the inviting pool are appreciated, some areas are noted to require modernization. Opinions on value and the atmosphere are mixed, with some guests enjoying the cost-effectiveness and laid-back environment, offset by criticisms of nightly noise disturbances. The location is a hit for its easy access to local dining and experiences.

My wife and I chose this place for an 11 night stress busting holiday, our first time in Cyprus. We we welcomed upon arrival by very friendly hosts and shown to our room, with all of the features and facilities explained. We have been somewhat surprised by how good everything is! There’s no TV, which one or two reviewers have mentioned, but to us that is a blessing, it’s nice to get away from it. Our room, 10.2, is well equipped for self catering and has air conditioning upstairs and downstairs, as well as a terrace with furniture and a balcony with drying rack. The food here is very affordable (example: spaghetti bolognaise 5.80 Euros) and the ingredients are top quality. Breakfast choice is huge, from porridge to full cooked breakfast buffet, eat as much as you like. There is a dining room but most people enjoy eating on the terrace beside the bar, where at breakfast you are watched intently by dozens of opportunistic sparrows - walk away from your toast at your peril!
Everywhere is clean and well maintained and all of the staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. The gardens are immaculately kept with attractive and interesting plants. The pool is lovely and large enough and safe for children and unconfident swimmers and there are plenty of sun beds for sun worshippers.
The nearby village is 10 minutes’ stroll away with several restaurants, two general stores that open late and a car hire and taxi office. The local beach is 10-15 minutes’ slow stroll away and is clean and safe for swimming.
If you, like us, prefer a quieter room then ask for a room in blocks one or two, but apart from theme nights at the weekend everything quietens down at about 11pm anyway.
Will we return? Most likely yes, definitely if we visit Cyprus again. Would we recommend? Without a second’s hesitation.
Thank you to the entire team for looking after us at Hylatio Tourist Village and making our holiday special!

Sometimes I wonder if the Hylatio my husband and I go to as often as we can, is one and the same Hylatio reviewed by folk like yiann0sd. We have been holidaying there since 2000, often twice a year and it has always been somewhere we look forward immensely to returning to. This year we have been thwarted by Covid-19, but we shall be back in 2021 and once we have booked, we will be counting down the weeks to departure. It is truly a little haven of peace and tranquility. The village is well laid out, the gardens are beautiful, the staff helpful and friendly and there is nowhere else we would rather be in the Mediterranean. Food is good and plentiful and we just don't recognise the criticism of the rooms. All were refurbished to a high standard 2018-2019 and there a number of new suites that were built 2 or 3 years ago which are available at an upgrade. As for there being no TV, thank goodness that is the case. Who goes on holiday to watch TV, surely it's all about doing the things you wouldn't normally do at home?
We are really missing being there this year. Roll on 2021, we can't wait to go back.

Just spent 2 weeks at this hotel and came away with mixed feelings about the place. The hotel is close to the village of Pissouri which is a little out of the way from Paphos. The pool was lovely and has easy access for those with physical difficulties but it was busy in July and difficult for many to get loungers. The room was basic with very limited cupboard/drawer space available. We had to empty out all the pots and pans out of the kitchen area in order to store clothing. The room was clean and the beds made every day and bedding and towels changed out every third day (not a major problem). Towels and bedding can be changed each day but at extra cost. Safe keys cost €2.5 a day. Breakfast is OK with a small selection (even porridge). Lunch is OK but not fantastic and the evening meal can vary between amazing to disappointing. If you are not all inclusive there is a menu to choose from which appeared to have a greater choice but at a price. The indoor and outdoor dining areas are nice but watch out for the weekends when hotel 'friends' are invited onto site. They tend to have family meal times and take over the place by reserving large sections of the dining area. When we booked this holiday the description indicated evening entertainment during June/July/August. This turned out to be Greek dancing and a DJ on one night and a singer called Gaynor on another. At least Gaynor allowed me to sing Hotel California and Sultans of Swing with her. They serve mostly local drinks which were fine for us. The bar staff were great and interacted with everyone but the management could be difficult if approached with a problem. To be fair when ever we had to report anything it was eventually dealt with and I tended to feel that any reaction was due to misunderstanding and interpretation. However, other people had real difficulties with the management response to complaints. Locally there are a number of restaurants and for a charge of €10 you can get a taxi to Old Pissouri Market Square where there are further eating places. The Steak House by Michael is worth a visit if you like good steaks. There is a 'beach' close by with the usual water activities and a beach restaurant. Lastly, a thankyou to Gaynor the singer who struggled to entertain many guests who couldnt be bothered to drag themselves from their life supporting phones and at leas applaud the woman's efforts to entertain them. I've just spent 10 days here it was a relaxing hotel at first untill a school trip turned up for our last few days & took over the full bar area at night doing lessons on a big screen till 11pm with a disco pumping till gone midnight all other paying guests were a sleep by then as they had to just say in there rooms because all these 16/17 year old took over the full bar area with reserved tables.
We only had breakfasts here there was always something for everyone but they have a serious problem with flys they are all over the food you are being swarmed while eating.. very annoying always a bit slow with plates & cutlery tho always people standing around waiting for a bowl ect
The rooms were very big everything you need really they could do with a bit updating a lick of pain or even just a deep clean the cleaners never did a very good job just a quick wipe & considering with covid you'd think they would be more thorough there was dust everywhere.
Please be aware if you intend on staying at this hotel there is nothing there not even a gift shop about a 15 minute walk down to what they call the bay is 4 little places to eat & little shop to buy milk ect there is a little man made beach no sand all peddles down a huge steep bank & that is it nothing else there you can get a taxi into the village/Square but again a hand full of eating places & nothing else there
If you require a covid test to travel home go to the village think its called the pissouri pharmacy they do the tests there with certificate for 8 euros each & 10 euros in a taxi when I asked at reception they were trying to send us 30 minutes away to a different town to pay 30 euros each & nearly 70 euros in taxis be careful.

Lovely pool area but it’s impossible to get beds around it unless you go out at 7am, all guests leave towels the night before to reserve beds when it clearly states in the handbook that this is not allowed! we went and asked at reception what we were to do as every morning there wasn’t a bed without someone’s towel on. Not enough beds for the guest they have staying! We have had the worst nights sleep since we got here as the mattresses are like sleeping on a concrete floor, again went to reception to ask if there was something that could be done to be rudely spoken to by the manger/owner with a blunt NO! nothing happened with either situations. The food is like a greasy spoon cafe in Blackpool same every day and clearly can see it’s just re heated each morning, fruit is left out to be mouldy and not a lot of choice, staff all seem to be grumpy and no customer service skills whatsoever!! No please or thank you or nothing they don’t even say hello to you when you walk around the grounds or entering the hotel/restaurant
The rooms are very dated with No tv or mod cons and we haven’t had our room cleaned properly the whole 10 days we have been here, towels are filthy before they are changed, beds are supposed to be changed every 3 days and they clearly haven’t either. You will be lucky if they sweep your floor let alone mop it, dirt of the cleaners shoes left on bathroom floor, sink and mirrors dirty and clearly it’s a rushed in and out job! With covid 19 not far behind us this hotel is far from hygienic.
Our room is very close to the the septic tank and with the heat it’s smells extremely bad at times which is very off putting
If I was you I would by pass and look elsewhere not all reviews are true but this is 100% correct
Lesson learnt for sure STAY CLEAR
Ps you will need a hire car!!

Stayed at the Hylatio in July for 10 nights we stayed in a superior room 10B lovely big room with a walk in shower room was cleaned every day towels changed every other day we were A/I so didn't venture out much went to the amphitheater in the village to see Fleetwood Back great group fantastic night please ignore the negative reviews don't forget this is not a 5star hotel if you want to pay 5star prices I suggest you stay in Paphos. The hotel is family owned if you need anything you just have to ask they will do their best to accommodate you lovely pool area beautiful grounds in which everyone worked very hard to maintain the grounds if you want a relaxing holiday at reasonable prices this is the place to stay will be returning next year. A big thanks to everyone at the Hylatio for a lovely holiday.

Beautiful setting in mature gardens with a lovely pool and plenty of sun beds. The apartments are spacious and well equipped but are shabby and not very clean, in fact the balcony was extremely dirty and the dust under the beds had obviously been there a while. The owners seem to employ immigrants and they probably don’t get much training.
This has obviously been a self catering complex but now seems to be a bed & breakfast or all inclusive complex, however the owners have not grasped the all inclusive concept as towels are only changed when they decide which was twice for us. Beds not changed at all. If you leave towels in the bath they will still be there unless you pay to have them changed. Pool towels are not provided but charged at €10 per person per week.
The dining room was like a canteen, never any tablecloths. Food was plentiful but limited choice and very repetitive and was lukewarm at best and for some reason every member of staff who appeared there to watch seemed to feel the need to keep stirring everything around ( no one wearing gloves). We were given information that stated sandwiches were available 11am - 11pm and cakes etc were available 3pm -6pm but nothing was, apparently if you asked they would get you a sandwich or cake.
Drinks were ok and Angela was lovely but Chris the barman was very rude and ignored you unless you were paying for drinks in which case he appeared to be falling over himself.

Worst place I have ever stayed. The owner is very rude not helpful and abrupt. He had no intentions of helping our family. The food is horrendous and your only aloud one drink at a time. Having a big family we would send one person to the bar to collect drinks but this wasn’t aloud it is a waste of time going all inclusive. Not one staff member uses a covid mask. Not helpful at all and owner is the worst! In their paperwork it states they have respect and a duty of care to provide while they do neither

We had a relaxing stay here. No TV but that was good with all the negative Covid-19 news. Excellent pool and not cold for March. Meals adequate, and varied for dinner. Rooms were OK, with good beds. Air conditioning providing good heating in the cold evenings. Our room overlooked the pool and bar area and I can see that could be noisy during busy summer months but was no issue in March. Friendly & helpful staff, even though the village was full while we were there. Easy flat walk into Pissouri beach (Pissouri village itself is about 5km away, uphill) where there were restaurants if you wanted a change of menu or scenery. Easy 30 minute drive from Paphos airport.

Having visited Hylatio for 20 years now, I find it hard to understand the negative comments that are posted here.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday with our family. As usual the whole site was very clean including the apartments.

The food was wonderful and our grandchildren aged 1 & 3 years old never went hungry. We never saw any flies at all.

The staff at Hylatio were working hard at mealtimes clearing tables, wiping down and serving drinks. Well done guys!

As for the students we found them polite and charming. It was lovely to see confident youngsters from all over the world learning and making friends. Tables were reserved for them to keep them all together so leaving other tables free for the other guests. We were a family of 7 and never had a problem getting a table.

We are returning to Hylatio in 2 weeks, without the family, to lay in the Cypriot sun with 2 great friends who also have been visiting and loving Hylatio as long as we have!
