The room we had was lovely although from the balcony we could only see tree blossom. I know the building is old but the bathroom sinks and the shower really needed some limescale remover. The pool bar wasn't open on the couple of times we wandered down there - or maybe it never is but it made the pool feel...

A lovely relaxing place to stay for a few days. Close to Carcassonne. Good food and wine. Clean, comfortable, well serviced rooms. Beautiful pool area. Very pretty courtyard restaurant. Lovely, helpful and friendly staff. It's best not to make too quick an impression on arrival. The exterior initially looks a bit shabby, with faded signage and entrance lobby paintwork but...

We returned to Chateau de Cavanac with yet another friend who had not visited before, as the staff are very attentive and the charm of this hotel never fails to please. The rooms are spacious with very high ceilings and attention to detail ensures that each room has its own character. There are a few things that could be improved,...

Carcassonne is a unique tourist attraction, well worth a visit! Both the 'new city' and the medieval walled citié can be very busy at peak tourist times - so it is great to find a hotel in the quieter outskirts. Cavanac is about 5km away from the town, it's not particularly attractive, but the Chateau (old manor house) which has...

Despite feeling initially a bit unnerved by the intimacy and clear heritage of this property, I felt comfortable almost immediately. A calmness pervades the building and ground, from the leafy entrance gates to the generous darkness of the restaurant. I slept as much in one week as I usually would in three; highly recommended.

This is a great hotel, with wonderful attentive staff and excellent menus. It is close to the airport and a great base for exploring the region. We look forward to returning soon. The staff were also very helpful in recommending other good restaurants in the local area, making the bookings for us. The swimming pool has a lovely quiet atmosphere

WE were warmly greeted and shown to our room, one of which was up-graded so that we were near to our friends (but at the same cost which we were quoted) I asked for a corkscrew to enjoy a pre dinner drink and without hesitation it was provided along with 4 glasses. Dinner was a delight the service team unobtrusive...

A bit of a strange experience. Our room had little furniture, wooden floors with no carpets or rugs, but a very comfortable bed. Breakfast is in a large, dark room, you serve yourself, there's no one about and it all feels slightly spooky. However the friendly welcome we received on arrival, and the help with any difficulties we faced, gave...

Lovely very french hotel 10 min dive from Carcassonne, difficult to find. Big simple rooms. The hotel itself is very big, rather old but it add more charm to the place:) Personnel was not friendly, but it is normal in France. We had a breakfast in the hotel, very nice, cold and hot food! I like the place.
