We stayed for a few nights. The main reason was to visit Carcassone and this hotel is really too far out of town to be convenient. It is about a 20€ cab ride to town. But the rooms are big and air conditioned. The staff were a little odd, one minute being friendly and the next typically french. We ate...

We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel in July. The room was a little lacking in furniture which made it seem a bit studenty but the bed was comfy, it was very spacious and it was nice and quiet. Most of the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant apart from one receptionist who was unhelpful, couldn't be bothered to...

This review is for the restaurant only (although there does not seem to be a separate listing for it). We dined there on 1st August in a party of six to celebrate a big birthday. We were seated in the garden which was delightful. Even walking through the restaurant, which is situated in the old stables of the Chateau, was...

A very nice and quiet place with beautiful rooms and an exellent restaurant. Absolutely recommendable, and a place we would gladly return to. All the staff was very friendly and helpful except for one lady in the reception, who was far from helpful when we made inquiries.

My wife and I stayed at the Chateau De Cavanac for 5 nights in mid June, we stayed in one of the suites which was very good. The things that mattered such as space, comfortable bed, excellent bathroom and superb breakfast were all there. There were minor niggles as anywhere, but taking in everything else, friendly staff, good food, location...

We arrived quite late in the evening about 9 ish,my map reading skills let me down,we took a wrong turn but eventually got there. The girl on the desk didn't smile, she said there was no porter to help with luggage but she was willing,my husband declined and carried our rather heavy bags up to our room. The room was huge,separate...

My husband and I stayed here on our last night of a trip to the Languedoc and intially, the hotel looked very promising. However, it all went downhill from there. When we arrived (at 3pm) we were told that there was no possibility of getting any sort of snack and all that was available was some overpriced (and stale) crackers...

On our last night cruising along the Canal du Midi, our hosts, Earl & Fiona of Barge Colibri, took us to dinner at this chateau converted to a hotel. The huge old stables have been turned in to a lovely rustic restaurant. Estate-grown red, white and rose are on every table as you arrive. Foie gras, smoked salmon, tiny snails...

Dinner is just unbeatable value, Comfortable rooms and great atmosphere. Shabby but clean and full of character. Probably back next year again I'd guess.
