we arrived at around 4pm only to find the place closed, after ringing the number on the door we waited in the rain until one of the chefs arrived for her evening shift. She eventually showed us to our room. This is a restaurant with rooms but it's only staffed when the restaurant is open. Room was spacious and comfortable...

We were allocated the ground floor room on the estuary side of the restaurant. We had our own little yard with two chairs and private entrance with floor to ceiling electric shutters for privacy. The room was very clean, tidy and modern. the bed was big enough and was comfortable. There was limited storage space and only one chair. The...

We have stayed here the last three years we have been to France. Really lovely relaxing rooms ours on two levels with a spiral stair case a bit dangerous for young and old. The restaurant is very good sea food top class. Right on the bridge with 13 Arches which the water rises rapidly with the tide amazing to watch...

The food was good last year but they seem to have upped their game. Today it was superbe! I had the bisque from the 24 euros menu followed by the saumon with parmesan, which my partner also had. Huge portion. Extremely tasty. Then I had Creme brûlée and he had cafe gourmand. Lovely bottle of rose. Great service. Deservedly very...

Very clean, calm comfortable and spacious apartment. Excellent breakfast served in the restaurant. Bicycle rentals available. Only down side is that the television is not working properly and there is no wifi nor telephone mobile reception.

We stayed here on a hiking trip down the coast of Normandy. Port-bail is a down right on the coast of France and located on a tidal estuary with some pretty impressive flows between low and high tide. The hotel and restaurant over looks the ancient 13 arch bridge (hence the name) the crosses the tidal flow. Our room over...

Port-Bail (pronounced "Poor Bye") is a bit off the beaten tourist path, but nothing is really all that far from anything else in Normandy. A Parisian friend and her sister both have houses in Port-Bail and she was our travel guide, chauffeur and interpreter for several days in July, 2015. I can see why she loves Port-Bail and recommended this...

We booked this double room with a Sea View at the attractive little village of Portbail before we were to stay in a Gite in Brittany. With a private entrance, the room was excellently furnished in the modern style with electic exterior steel blinds. We initially thought that that as it was so new looking, the builders had forgotten to fix...

As we approached Port Bail the phone rang and the manager/owner asked what time we would arrive. She then said that she wouldn't be there but would leave a phone number. We contacted her as soon as we arrived and were not kept waiting long but the greeting was pretty much non existent. She neither smiled nor shook hands, just...

Very nice restaurant, shame that the weather was too cold to sit outside as I imagine that this is a fantastic place to be on a warm summers evening. Food was very good and reasonably priced. The upstairs restaurant was a bit stiff but downstairs seemed quite informal and relaxed. Service was ok too. We didn't stay here so can't...
