Visiting Normandy regularly to visit family, we have stayed at Aux 13 Arches many times, and have found it to be the perfect home from home. Perfectly located, spotlessly clean and well equipped, it also has the benefit of a high quality restaurant and friendly staff. Easily the best we have found in this part of France.

we arrived at around 4pm only to find the place closed, after ringing the number on the door we waited in the rain until one of the chefs arrived for her evening shift. She eventually showed us to our room. This is a restaurant with rooms but it's only staffed when the restaurant is open. Room was spacious and comfortable although tea and coffee would be nice. Television even has english channels. The door to our toilet had warped and would not close. Breakfast ok but @€9 each we found the local bakery and bar to be much better value. The restaurant is popular and serves classic seafood menus at 3 price levels. We paid around £45 per night so value was very good.

We were allocated the ground floor room on the estuary side of the restaurant. We had our own little yard with two chairs and private entrance with floor to ceiling electric shutters for privacy. The room was very clean, tidy and modern. the bed was big enough and was comfortable. There was limited storage space and only one chair. The bathroom was very swish with a good shower but the soap dispenser was difficult to use. There was no kettle, cups, etc so, unless we went to a cafe the only drinks we could have in our room were cold drinks we brought in. The restaurant was very popular, you had to book, and it was closed one day a week. Food choice was mainly fishy and well cooked and well presented. there was a good range of half bottles of wine.

We have stayed here the last three years we have been to France. Really lovely relaxing rooms ours on two levels with a spiral stair case a bit dangerous for young and old. The restaurant is very good sea food top class. Right on the bridge with 13 Arches which the water rises rapidly with the tide amazing to watch with the sun setting.
