Classic seaside hotel overlooking the cliff. Very basic room standards without frills (if you exclude the pillow chocolate), but functional. There is no seaside ambiance or nautical themes usually found in these locations and getting around the hotel is along dark and gloomy corridors and staircases. If you are not quite ready for the intensive experience of neighbouring Binz, this is a nice location to start. If you enjoy a meal in the restaurant you will get a very helpful service when you treat yourself to a robust meal that is tasteful as well as very filling. If fish and soup sounds good to you, try their award winning fish soup. The wine-by-glass selections recommended by the staff are more than just the usual house wine experience. Well rested, and after taking in an excellent breakfast service on the patio, you feel ready to take on the many local tourist attractions.

A very pleasant experience with great food and pleasant service. The hotel is family. I can recommend the hotel after 3 nights with them. One hint (and I only found out at the end of our stay). There standard pillows are terrible, but it appears that they have a great variety of pillows. You only need to ask!!

We are riding the full Baltic Ostsee and stop on places where we can recover and enjoy nice evenings. This Hotel, even if set on top of a challenging hill, offered the best view and dinner we could dream of. The welcome is top, with Proseco or water, and from there, you can make great tours. The water was 23 and the sun always over us. Obviously, the sundown is not on that side of Sellin. But the terrasse placed as an eagle nest over the beach gave us a Terrific view. The restaurant is great, and you can find even English speaking service. I do not want to miss the breakfast, also on the same terrasse with this fantastic view and great buffet. A recommended stop...and plan few days as worth and very reasonable prices. F.

I booked our vacation at this hotel based on the pictures and reviews I read. When we arrived we were not disappointed! Hotel overlooks the Baltic Sea so we were greeted with a great view and a cold glass of Prosecco served by a friendly hotel employee. Room with a side view of the sea was large, nicely decorated and had a good size bath with shower. Minibar with complimentary water and apple schorle was replenished daily. Breakfast buffet was beyond excellent. Indoor pool with jets and a view of the sea was also a pleasure. Well kept and clean. Hotel restaurant was also quite good. We dined there twice. We usually don't like to dine anywhere twice on vacation because we like to try the area restaurants but this place was so good we ate there again. Outdoor terrace with gorgeous view of the Baltic Sea. Short walking distance to the village. Such a great place.

The Hotel Bernstein sits high on a hill overlooking the Baltic Sea. We had a very nice room with a balcony and sea view. There was free parking right behind the building. The staff was very nice and gave us glasses of sparkling wine while we checked in. We had a good dinner in the dining room and a really fantastic breakfast buffet the next morning. It was probably one the best breakfast buffets we have seen anywhere in Europe.
