Palazzo Mosco Inn is a unique, historic building in the heart of Gallipoli. It offers views across the historic centre and the Ionian Sea from its rooftop terrace. Each room is elegant and unique. They all combine modern amenities such as air conditioning and free Wi-Fi with original features and beautiful mosaics that date back to the 19th century. Breakfast is buffet style and can be enjoyed out on the panoramic terrace during summer season. Palazzo Mosco Inn - Dimora Storica also features a bar. Being an old building, it does not have a lift. The property is ideal both for exploring Gallipoli centre and relaxing on the beach 5 minutes' walk away. Staff will welcome you with the hospitality typical of Southern Italy and can provide excellent restaurant recommendations.

This hotel, nestled in the heart of the old town, proved to be a delightful choice for our stay. The location allowed us easy access to explore the charming surroundings and immerse ourselves in the historical atmosphere.

Upon arrival, we were pleased to find that the hotel was immaculately clean and well-maintained. The rooms were nice and cozy, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of sightseeing.

The staff deserves special praise for their friendliness and helpfulness. From the warm welcome at check-in to their willingness to assist with any queries, they made us feel valued and cared for throughout our visit.

The breakfast served at the hotel was a highlight of our mornings. A variety of delicious options awaited us, and we enjoyed starting our day on the breakfast terrace, basking in the fresh air and lovely views.

All in all, our stay at this hotel was a delightful experience. Clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and a delicious breakfast made it a memorable trip. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a pleasant and convenient stay in the heart of the old town.

Once a private villa owned by a wealthy Roman family. Our room was very large, with a beautiful domed ceiling and gorgeous mosaic floors; it would cost 4x as much in a place like Rome or Florence. Good air conditioning. Nice roof-top terrace for breakfast. Right in the old city, so you have to drop your bags and then park outside - wasn't really a problem. You can walk to all the restaurants and the beach. Only thing here is there are stairs to every room; no elevator. Pleasant and helpful staff.

Gallipoli is a fabulous spot to spend a few days in and there aren't that many hotels in the old part of town. The Mosco Inn is highly recommended for it's friendly welcome and service, great location and fabulous building.

Breakfast is simple but covers all needs, there is no restaurant but there are so many eating and drinking location on the doorstep so no disadvantage at all.

Highly recommended and would live to visit again.

Tip to drivers - for parking , as you come into modern Gallipoli head towards the old port on the Lungomare Marconi ( you will be led across the right hand Bridge rather than into the restricted old town) and you will eventually come to 2 car parks. The first is free but is very crowded and often looked like spaces were difficult to find and lots of double parking The second is much larger and much emptier as it is a pay on exit car park. The cost in summer is 2 euros per hour
So expect to pay 48 euros per day. Quite expensive but if you have a hire car and don't want to risk being bumped, it might be worth the expense. The hotel is about 5-10 minutes walk from the car park- come up to street level and follow the road left - you will pass the bridge and the castle to your left and the Via Micetti is on your right just after the large Martinucci ice cream parlour. You will find Palazzo Mosco Inn about 80 meters on your left.

Horrible place. The pigeons had free access to the breakfast which contained old bread dressed up with tomatoes or cream to disguise the stale taste.

Locks didn’t work so we didn’t have access to our room for two hours.
Hopelessly slow and inefficient staff delayed the process getting to the room.
No refund offered even we pointed out we missed our excursion that day.

We loved our stay at the Palazzo Mosco. Odd name and quite an odd hotel, but in a really good way. Some reviewers mention rooms with no windows and we did see that some of the rooms face out onto a courtyard and don't have external windows, which probably isn't ideal and they seemed a bit dark. However our room faced the alleyway, had a little balcony and was great. Marble floor, big old fashioned bed, ornate Italian furniture - fantastic. Arrival at this hotel is 'an experience'. First off, you have to find it. If you have a car, it's a real challenge. Be warned the island is a one way ring around with very few available parking spaces and also - only residents are allowed to park. There is video surveillance logging your reg plates and if you go onto the island to do anything other than drop off your suit cases you will get a ticket. The hotels make you sign a form saying you understand this. However, there is a free car park just below the island at the port and so once you've dropped your bags you can re-park there and it's easy enough to get in and out. The reception in the hotel is very basic and there wasn't anyone the when we arrived. After five minutes though we were being looked after. The breakfast on the roof terrace is lovely and the staff are warm and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel. We had a fantastic meal at the Angolo Blu restaurant 300m left out of the hotel - excellent fish and heavenly risotto. We went to the beach south of the hotel - 6 euros to park and sun beds a plenty with beautiful sea and sand.

A lovely old building in the middle of the historic centre . The pick up service from the car park by the Harbour is really efficient. we had a standard double room which was very comfortable with a small balcony overlooking a narrow street at the front of the property . Be aware that some of the rooms are internally facing with no external windows .
The staff were extremely helpful and the service was very good . Breakfast on a delightful roof terrace was very good . A comfortable place to stay .

While the reception staff were friendly and welcoming we had a few reservations about this hotel. When you stay in a hotel room and it is cleaned daily you expect that when you return that your clothes , shoes, toiletries would be in the same place that you left them . You do not expect that you have to search for shoes and smaller items that have been put in the most unexpected places. You also do not expect that washing you have drying in the room will be taken out of the room to dry and that when it is returned an item such as a tshirt is missing never to be found again!
Also while the breakfast was delightful on the roof there seemed to be only one person serving and cooking. On the last day we gave up waiting for coffee and hot food because it was taking so long to come.

Very nice little hotel located in Gallipoli's old town which is itself quite special.
We had to swap our booking dates and the staff was really helpful with our request, something we appreciated very much (grazie Luca)!
Our room was spacious and clean - and with a balcony as we made a point of booking a superior room to avoid the no window situation.
The only 2 slight negative comments would be that the pictures and description of the superior rooms can be a little bit misleading (no 4 posters or mosaics) and that in case of rain the breakfast is served in a little dark room downstairs.. and the room doesn't have enough seats for all the guests to eat. Breakfast on the terrace is wonderful though!

The hotel has a deal with a private beach on Lido Verde. It can get quite busy and noisy over the weekend but we went on a week day, it was empty and we had a great time. About 45 minutes walk (quite a fun experience), around 10 with a car.

parking tip: cross the bridge to the old town and drive around (only 1 street) until you see the sign for the Palazzo Mosco Inn on your right. Get one of the passengers to drop your suitcases quickly (the palazzo is 1 mn away) and then drive to the port (again 1 mn away) to leave your car for free.

Lovely little hotel tucked in a side street in old Gallipoli. Our room was very nice with beautiful tile inlay floors that appeared to be original to the palace of 1800's. Our only king size bed while in Europe. Beautiful furnishings. A little balcony. A loft to sleep two more (we didn't use) and a large area (room?) for clothes, luggage, etc. A very nice breakfast was served but it would have been even better if the weather had been warm enough to serve on the pretty balcony upstairs.

The staff were excellent for giving help and looking after our needs. Good breakfasts. The only downside was figuring out the parking. You need to park before the entrance to the island. They have modified golf carts to help you transfer from the lots to the hotel. Our bedroom had an amazing ceiling.to help us realize we were staying in an old palace
