The are other problems with the hotel - it is used quite often for weddings and parties, and when this occurs the pool and parking area are taken over by the partygoers-- loud music, pool is closed and there is no restaurant service. The hotel guests are not warned when they check-in that this may happen frequently during their stay. All that happens is that a small sign may be posted at the front desk the day of the party. This happened 3 times in one week, and only one notice was given for one of the events.
There was also an odor in the lobby suggesting they had a problem with the sewage system. This was not resolved during our stay. If they get these problems worked out, it could be a very nice resort that is reasonably priced.
Breakfast is terrible. You can eat until 10 o’clock but at 9:30 there is no more prosciutto, the croissant basket is empty and the orange juice too. The servants are not friendly and very slow. Nobody speaks english, french or german. Italian is the only language they know. At 10:10 they ask you to leave.
You can order drinks and sanwiches at the pool but you have to go look for somebody to order. The pool bar stays empty.
You can have diner in the hotel. The food is good. But the servants haven’t got a clue what they are doing. You get your meat and 15 minutes later tour french fries. 5 of 6 people get their order and the 6th person has to wait 20 minutes...
Gallipoli is nice to visit one time. The beaches are clean and Zeus Beach is perfect for families with kids. You have less tourism than for example in Spain. There are no shops in the surroundings of the hotel.
If you like a quiet hotel, a visit to the beach and a onetime visit to a small town you can choose Gallipoli Resort, but you have to put up with the lazy Italian way of life.
"Ask for a room away from the poolside since they organise parties nearly every night."Read full review
