This resort is now run by the Club Marmara group - French speaking 'Club Med' type holidays. It reopened under this banner in April 2013.
We are Aussies holidaying in Europe and decided to come here at short notice as we had a week spare.
Overall it was certainly an enjoyable mini-vacation however it was a real mixed bag. Our trip was from Paris Orly Airport and included flights, transfers and seven nights accommodation including full board. It was a bit of a mixed bag detailed as follows:
Room - Certainly big enough but was dated with the decoration and seemed to always smell of stale cigarette smoke
Food - Fantastic, great variety for EVERY meal and plenty to go around
Drinks - Included drinks were really bad, particularly the Coffee which was undrinkable. The 'Table Red' wine was passable
Activity Team - Terrific, everyone was friendly and always trying to include people. We found that Gino and Matou were partcularly good along with Seb and Claire.
Facilities - Pools were great, very clean and well set out. The restaurant was also good and plenty of room for all. Not much other Public usable space.
Overall - If the weather is good (and we came in early June and had 8 fine, clear and warm days) then it is great. It may not be so in inclement weather as the rooms are a bit dour and the common facilities all outdoors.
Please keep in mind this is a French speaking resort - it is aimed at the French market and most of the staff speak little or no English - My partner is a fluent French speker and I would have been lost without her!

Rather a down-at-heel place - lots of rules although not always enforced/observed.
Usefully located for visiting Selinunte.
The pool was OK - but probably not adequate if the resort is full.

Use this resort as a base for your holiday in western Sicily. It is located close to a nice sandy beach. The resort is surrounded by cement-walls, all well painted an well kept. Inside the resort are palm-trees, swimming-pool e.t.c. all very nice.
The reception is on 24 hour watch, so you do not have any problems even arriving late in the night. The holiday-appartments are clean and nice - nice bathrooms, OK beds etc.
Do not use the resorts restaurant - it is at a lover standard than the many other restaurants in the village.
Remember to spend a day at the local accient display aresa, where large monuments from old temples are to be seen - it is impressive even to a non-historical tourist.
Remenber to bring a car - this resort is far from any airport, but the hotel is so cheap, that you can pay the rental car from the savings compared with another accomodation in one of the larger cities.

We picked this hotel because it looked like it had lovely facilities. Unfortunately the only thing lovely about this hotel are the photos. The staff was very unhelpful and racist. We were the only anglophone family staying at the hotel. In the buffet room, I asked one of the servers if they had a baby highchair that I could use. The server spoke english and said "no" then walked away. Two minutes later, I found a high chair (cheap IKEA one) in the far end of the room. I moved it to our table and put my baby in it. After a horrible buffet lunch (the "hot" food items were cold and lacked favor; the wine was aweful...), we took our kids to the pool for swimming. Unfortunately the pool was closed. It is closed from 1:30pm - 3:30pm everyday! And everyone needs to wear a swimcap (which we didn't know because it didn't say that in the reservation). So we waited till 3:30pm to use the pool. The kids were so excited to go swimming that they jumped in, despite the freezing temperature (the pool is not heated). My husband joined them. About 10 minutes later, the lifeguard told my husband that he needed a swim cap. Note: my husband doesn't have long hair, about 2 -3 inches long. Since we didn't have any and the "resort" didn't sell any, my husband had to get out of the pool. Not two minutes later, three men speaking italian jumped into the pool. None of them were wearing swimcaps and their hair was as short as my husband's. The life guard didn't say one word to them. Racist. Enough on the staff...the hotel room was fine furnished fine. The hot water for the shower ran out after 15 minutes. The air conditioner was loud (and made sleeping difficult at night...unless you are wearing earplugs). Lastly, you could hear the night-time entertainment (they were singing into a microphone). And that kept up our baby till 11pm. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. It is a low-budget establishment with rude staff. Lastly, I will not even tell you about the extra fees they tried to tack onto our bill when we checked out. We are still trying to sort it out.

I stayed at L'oasi di Selinunte Hotel for a week with my parents. We arrived late and night and were taken to our room/apartment. It was plently big enough for the three of us, and very clean. The television was a little small, but who goes on holiday to watch TV anyway?
The beach was gorgeous and included in the price of the room was sun loungers and a parasol on the beach with was very useful, as the weather was excellent. There were also plenty of sun loungers around the adequately sized pool.
I think we were the only brits staying there at the time and although the some of the staff did not speak very good (if any) english they were all extremely helpful. The animation team were all very friendly as were the lifeguards by the pool and on the beach.
Overall the hotel had a wonderful family feel to it, and was an excellent choice for a cheap week away. I would go back right now if i had the chance and would highly recommend this hotel.
-My parents and I were self catering, so we cannot comment on the food etc. There are plenty of restraunts in and arround marinella, most of which are very reasonably priced.

Arrived late with extended family and my husband and five year old. Room was dark, damp, patches of humidity on walls, smell of damp, dirty floors. No in room instructions on how to use phone, no in room information on anything, including fire instructions where to gather etc.
After dinner, which was very busy and not adequately staffed took very tired child to bed....the mattress was so bad that I could not sleep. Of course my five year old who had travelled five hours by car to get there was out straight away. I made a complaint at reception. Asked for more cushions for that night and to be changed rooms next day. Cushions arrived promptly. During night no sleep was had due to thin walls and loud music and bad mattress.
Did not receive any letter in night or call next morning to apologise and suggest room change so spent most of my next morning at reception again. I have to stay the staff were friendly but certainly not trained in how to deal with guests : for example how to apologise. We had a room change to a room in the new part of the resort. This room was certainly more four star...however once more, no in room information on how to use anything. The television did not work and it took from 10am til 8pm to have it fixed. Walls were so thin you could here the couple talking next door amoung other things.
I would certainly like to know how this resort was rated four stars, should be three star.
Breakfast no fruit on offer and when requested only apples were available. Mad dash at buffet lunch.
Would certainly be a resort only for Italians, certainly not up to British/American standards.

Mind blowing, a very hot day, but the experience and the views were unbelievable. The sight itself is only slightly explored so you can't begin to imagine what might be there. The temple itself was
magical against that bright blue sky. The succullants that were bigger than me. Though to be true I am only 5 foot 2.

IF YOU ARE ITALIAN, DO NOT GO, it is a village for French people, there is no entertainment for Italians as the entertainment team is French and only speaks French. There is an Italian team but I think they were put there due to complaints received (they only have the possibility of playing music, baby dancing and doing at most an evening of Karaoke).

Terrible cleanliness, I would say it doesn't exist, both in the rooms and in the restaurants.
The sheets are changed once a week but there is really a lot of dirt.

The only positive note is the food, I would say good and satisfying.

Friendly restaurant staff, very rude entertainers if you are Italian.

They wrote that there is a shuttle service but you go to the sea on foot and have to cross a swamp downhill, quite steep and dangerous, not suitable for children. The shuttle takes you to the valley of the temples or to the port.

I certainly rested but I didn't have fun as they didn't give me the chance to do so.

I certainly wouldn't go back and I repeat if you are Italian change location.

Tour operators are cursed because you know that it is a village for French people but you rightly don't say it before because no one would go.

We stayed overnight from 9th to 16th June.
Let me start by saying that it is a FRENCH 4-star structure!!! (No one warned me)
We arrive at the facility early and they don't give us the opportunity (even without luggage) to access the village.
Finally the time comes, we check in and obviously we ask for a shuttle to take the suitcases to the room (being a family with 2 small girls and staying 7 nights, we had 2 large suitcases, a duffle bag, 2 small bags and one backpack), no shuttle... they tell us that we have to go on foot without anyone being able to help us.
However, taken by enthusiasm we go to the room and immediately take advantage of our all inclusive at the bar (we were only entitled to a cocktail made by them, alcoholic or non-alcoholic, or Dreher beer)....
They also had vodka and gin but never mind.
We go to the swimming pool and my daughters were obviously looking for the miniclub, NOTHING!!!
Let's go to dinner (for 7 days always the same starters, same breakfast), only the first courses and dinners changed, meat, fish, pizza, pasta, there was a bit of everything), only I realized that when at lunch they made a first course, often in the evening with what was left they made dinner.
Or if for example there were mussels for dinner, for lunch they made mussels and clams "Mass food of mediocre quality"
We go in the evening and finally meet the entertainers, ALL FRENCH AND WHO DO NOT SPEAK ITALIAN 😱😱
Finally 3 Italian animators show up, in their first week, poor they didn't know where to turn before since they were two different animators agencies.
So the French animators, about ten of them, had access and priority over everything, the Italians tried to invent something but unfortunately without success.
And the little they did were often filmed by the French because they were disturbing, a horrifying scene!!!
The village is frequented by 80% French and 20% Italians.
The rooms were humid and the cleaning service often knocked on the door at 2pm, obviously during rest hours!
We had nice ants and flies in the room 🤦🏻‍♂️
The structure is large, but it is used very badly and some points such as the sports fields (only 2... the tennis court was inside the soccer field), were really dilapidated.
We also had the opportunity to go to the seaside in their private beach (they told us that there is no shuttle to take us to the seaside since it is far away and that to get there you had to go down a steep slope and with 2 little girls it's not the best) , therefore 7 days without sea.
In short, for a week we wanted to entertain our girls and relax as adults, but we found the girls with us all the time complaining that they were bored!
Ah, historic moment (I also have the video), once the Italian entertainer finally manages to organize a basketball tournament, we all get excited, after about a kilometer to get to the courts, we realize that the basketball courts are missing .
Obviously the animator didn't know this.
Another historical moment:
On Saturday we invite the Italian entertainers to do the Babydance for the little ones before the match, and they tell us that it wasn't possible because they couldn't do it at the bar because it could disturb the match, okay, okay, but you can do it half an hour before, right?
They tell us they can't.
Moral of the story: the French did the baby dance at the bar, playing very loud music without making us understand anything about the match.
What a week guys, we are in Sicily, but upon entering this village (3 stars in my opinion), it feels like being in France! for people like me who don't speak French, it's really difficult!!
The French animators obviously don't even make an effort to interact with the Italians.
(Small anecdote: during an aqua gim, they invited the Italians to get out of the pool, they denied us the pool!
Plus in all their splendor, they played the French anthem.
When I asked them to also include the Italian anthem for equality, they replied no!
We were treated like outcasts, in my land!!
NEVER AGAIN!
