Detailed Reviews
I want to say a big thank you to everyone at the Miramare Hotel. We stayed for four nights. It was just the sort of hotel we love. Very traditional, homely: - comfortable without being flash. The room we had was lovely with a nice bathroom and a balcony looking out over the sea. It's a short walk to the archeological site which needs several hours to explore in full. There are excellent restaurants and bars near by. The street was set up for an Oktober Fest which was a lively but slightly incongruous affair. The beach was also easy to reach and uncommercialised. So a very good place to hole up for a few days, Sadly we received some sad news from home and had to cut short our holiday but the hotel staff and owners could not have been more helpful. Alessandro used his computer to book our flights home (I only had my mobile) he printed our bording passes printed for us and he even contacted the car hire to explain what had happened and why we were returning to Tripani a week early. Eveyone understood what had happened and were so compassionate and understanding. So I recommend without any reservation.

Room Tip:Â Our room had a lovely balcony. The one next door was even bigger. On the second floor.

The location on the sea front is excellent with beachside restaurants all close by. Our sea facing room with small balcony was perfectly accpetable without being "outstanding". In fact rooms could do with updating but this did not impact our stay at all. The staff were helpful. Parking outside the hotel or in their private parking above the hotel. Breakfast was OK.

Came to Sicily to visit a friend and stayed at the Miramare Hotel. Good location, the access to the private beach is 1min away, walking distance to the town centre.
Good breakfast.
Friendly and helpful staff
I would definitely recommend!

We had a large room opening out onto a shared balcony with a view over the sea, all comfortable enough. But it was out of season and the place was very empty and it all felt a bit sad. The owner was friendly enough and breakfast was satisfactory so there was nothing really to complain about. The hotel does feel a bit tired and in need of some major redecoration (a lift wouldn't hurt!) to reflect it's great position facing the sea. Fortunately restaurants and a beach cafe were still operating.

Response from Beya Merikech, Proprietario at Hotel Miramare Garzia - Selinunte
Responded Nov 17, 2023
So, do we deserve such a low rating because you chose to stay in this location during the off-season? Should we have closed the hotel? I honestly don't understand; sometimes businesses are criticized without much consideration, and it's a sad thing!

The hotel staff was very friendly and gracious. The accommodations for this area were of the best available. Our highlights of our trip were the Ocean views, local restaurants, 4 night hotel stay and the Acropolis Museum Park Tour. This hotel and experience is Highly recommended by my wife and I.

Hotel Miramare Garzia was a terrific stop for 4 gay men traveling together. We each had our separate rooms. All services were top notch. Location was perfect: we could walk to the beach. The proprietor, Alessandro and his family couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Thank you, Alessandro, for your hospitality and advice!

We arrived and were greeted with a friendly face and greeting. The owners are so friendly and made us feel at home. The location is superb, with several restaurants on your doorstep, and directly across from a lovely beach. The rooms are basic but ample, and the sea view from our room was amazing. My wife and I had a great time and would definitely return. Highly recommended.

Functional but good. Lovely staff.
Balcony overlooking the sea. We were out of season so very little to do in the evening but next door restaurant Pierrot very good food. Beach cafe excellent lunches.

Hotel Miramare offered the best stay and experience for us in Sicily. The hotel offers comfortable rooms with general amenities, balcony overlooking the Mediterranean sea and quite an adequate breakfast for a nominal price.
Since the hotel does not have an elevator, carrying luggage to the second floor caused a bit of a discomfort, however, the comfort of the room with an amazing view is quite refreshing. The hotel has an ample car parking options (at least in the month of May) right in front of it. There are several good and friendly restaurant options where one can relish typical Sicilian cuisines.
But the thing that amplified us the most of our positive experience was the homely feeling provided by this family run hotel hosts, Alessandro and Beya. Their company, hospitality and talks were all the time fun and enjoyable that we could not have enough of it.
Initially booked for 3 nights, the hotel comfort, friendly hospitality and amazing location made us to extend another night. In fact, after our departure from Selinunte, we missed throughout our Sicilian trip a similar hospitality, comfort and experience as received at hotel Miramare.
Hotel Miramare is indeed a cozy place to nestle in a quaint town of Selinunte, from where one can drive to different locations for sightseeing. We highly recommend hotel Mirare for an awesome stay, chill by the beach and be pampered by the Garzia family.

At our arrival at Hotel Miramare di Selinunte we were welcomed by the amazing and funny owners Alessandro and Beya who made our stay incredible as they are very helpful, warm and attentive to our every needs. The hotel is very cozy, clean, beautiful and has a 10 seconds (cross the small street go down the stairs) access straight on the beach which happens to be soothing and perfect!
Definitely will come back not only for the hotel and the beach, but also for the wonderful owners who I truly recommend you meet!
Thank you so very much Alessandro and Beya for the incredible holiday!
