I stayed at the Castle for two nights as I was the wedding photographer for a young couple getting married. The landscape and views were amazing. There were about twenty-five people in our party and were all in the same building on the property which made late nights enjoyable. The vineyard and winery were enjoyable as well. The wine tasting...

My family of four recently stayed just one night at Casello di Meleto and we generally enjoyed our stay. However, one night was probably enough, and it may have been better in fact to simply stop by to tour the vineyards and take pictures, but stay somewhere else. First, the good: The vineyards and property were truly beautiful, and I...

I stayed at the Castello di Meleto with 2 friends recently however we booked 2 nights and ended up booking another hotel the second night because we didn't feel safe. I think we were the only ones staying at the property and the staff leaves well before their shift ends. The office is supposed to be open until 7 however...

This castle stay was very strange. We had a great time, and the people were very nice... but we were the only people there. Checkout is not until 8:30, and we had to get our car back to Florence at 10. Breakfast is not good. We wanted to stay in a castle during our trip, and the reviews were great...

I found this location over 10 years ago with my daughter and it was so amazing I knew I would be back. This time a romantic trip and my experience was equally wonderful this time. The property is in the middle of Chianti. In a vineyard. Lined with olive trees. The castel is breathtaking and beautifully restored and maintained. We...

My fiancé and I made a booking for a vineyard and castle tour as well as a wine tasting. The vineyard tour was extremely informative - we talked about olive trees, the Sangiovese grown at Meleto (even got to try the grapes). As wine appreciators, we now feel like we know a lot more about how grapes are grown. Tour...

Stayed in the castle. The most amazing place, great staff, great wine and a wonderful vista. During the castle tour you get to see an amazing private theatre, it has a wonderful baroque feel to it. This is a must see place. They have 2 pools, and lovely gardens. We enjoyed the wine tasting as well.

We love the castle and would recommend it to everyone. It is very central to so many great little villages. If you go to Sienna go early in the day. The restaurant at the base of the castle was also excellent and nice to be able to walk back after dinner.

Fantastic setting for my son's wedding in August 2016, we stayed for 3 days. The castle is picturesque and typical of the type in Tuscany, set on a hill. Accommodation for guests is in apartments which are situated across the site - several acres which includes vineyards from which the celebrated red wine is made. Apartments range from 1 to...

We had our wedding in Castello di Meleto in Sept 2016. Amazing venue with beautiful surroundings and views, we could not have asked for a better day. Katia the wedding coordinator was fantastic and was there at all times to ensure the day went to plan. We had our ceremony in the Stemma hall, cocktails in the herb garden then...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Castello di Meleto is in the center of an ideal geographical triangle formed by the cities of Siena, Florence and Arezzo. Surrounded by six beautiful houses, painstakingly restored in 2000, preserving its rustic Tuscan style. Each house has a private garden or terrace that overlooks the countryside surrounded by green vineyards and olive groves.Easily accessible and close to the accommodation we have two infinity pools from which you can enjoy an unforgettable view. In the basement of the castle, a real historical monument, a charming wine shop allows you to taste our wines, our organic extra virgin olive oil and salami of Cinta Senese from our farm. On request we can organize banquets in medieval and Renaissance style in the picturesque setting of the frescoed rooms. In addition, daily guided tours of the ground floor of the castle, the eighteenth-century theater, the dungeons with ancient cellars, prisons and the secret tunnel to escape from the Castle .. will make you to live an unique and unforgettable experience in a real castle in the Chianti area.Daily walks are possible on roads and paths in the area. From the same roads, the "Eroica”, an fascinating extreme racing with vintage bikes, takes place every year. The staff of the Reception of the Castle will be pleased to arrange excursions departing from the Castello di Meleto to major art centers such as Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo and Val D'Orcia. On the territory of the Castle of Meleto guests can enjoy cycling, horse riding and walking, immersed in pristine nature of the Chianti hills. Our restaurant, “ La Fornace di Meleto” , at the bottom of the hill, offers typical Tuscan menu and innovative dishes. The Castle's history is also a history of Weddings, such as those of Alberto Ridolfi's daughter Lucrezia and, in 1852, Baron Bettino's daughter Elisabetta: it could also become the history of Your wedding, against a background imbued with extraordinary beauty.Meleto Castle can offer Religious ceremonies in its catholic church, the Pieve di Spaltenna. The Celebrations can be organized as you wish: the entire Piano Nobile (a series of furnished and frescoed rooms) can be put at Guests' disposal together with the garden, a splendid terrace overlooking the unspoilt panorama of the Chianti hills for enjoying a touch of sun, and the Stables ( Scuderia in Italian) , where guests can relax or let themself go in dancing. We specialise in providing the perfect atmosphere for a truly unique party, whether a Tuscan Castle wedding. ... more   less
