The Casa de Terena is incredibly beautifully situated in the charming small town of Terena. We were warmly welcomed with a good Rosé wine and home-meade Tapas, many stories about the area and Portugal in general. Immediately feeling home in this very special place we enjoyed every second in Terena and this house. The big. luxurious breakfast with local products...

Stella and her friend Hazel were absolutely the best hosts! We thoroughly enjoyed our 6 day stay and all the recommendations they gave us for sightseeing and dining. Every morning we waddled out from the breakfast feast and toured this lovely part of the Alentejo. Thank you to you both for a wonderful and memorable stay.

This gem of a hotel is a must-visit retreat for any visitors to the border of Spain and Portugal. Ms Stella has opened her gracious home as a hotel, creating a true sanctuary for those who seek the vanishing beauty and peace of old Europe. The hotel was built, hundreds of years past, as the elegant residence of the local...

Like someone else stated in an earlier review, Stella is the definition of hospitality. She went way above and beyond her call of duty to make our stay as pleasant as it could possibly be. The Casa de Terena is a beautiful sight in itself with its beautiful historic features matched with its tasteful current owners’ African decor. Stella made...

I would certainly recommend staying here and use it as a base for discovering the true Portugal. The breakfast is superb, the hospitality first class and we all felt at home. Try it & you will not be dissapointed.

Look up "hospitality" in the dictionary and you will find a picture of Stella standing next to the Casa de Terena. My wife, our two friends, and I spent four wonderful nights there in mid April. Everything was perfect for us. We love traveling back roads and visiting small villages and the Alentejo and Terena are ideal. Staying at the...

Stella and Casa de Terena just lovely, we felt at ease immediately, and just settled in. Nothing a bother, the most delightful area, a hop skip and jump to the old castle ruins, goodness knows how old but way older than when Captain Cook discovered Australia!! Stella was most helpful in suggesting what she felt would interest us and I...

Our stay at Casa de Terena was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. Stella, our host (and pets Tommy and others) were so welcoming and genuine that we felt we had joined old friends. The house is charming, full of interesting art and items gathered from world travels. Comfortable rooms, posh bathrooms and a view of the rolling plains...
