This review is associated with the accommodation adjacent to the pub and not the pub itself. We stayed as a couple for a quick break away from the city and to visit Hadrian's Wall, The Roman Army Museum and Vindolanda. For these purposes, I've never stayed at accommodation in a more ideal place. Located five minutes away on foot is...

We came across this place as we were travelling along the wall. In need of some lunch we headed in. A large blackboard is their menu so everyone had to get up to go and have a look to see what was on offer, I nearly missed the board in the fireplace offering Sunday roasts. Two of us had the...

I cant fault the food on this visit (nor my last visit either). Excellent service, helpful friendly staff and great pub nosh. Milecastle Inn is easy to locate north of Haltwhistle plus its has a fairly large car park. If the Inn can show consistency in its service then it will be certainly worth recommending. If you are a Wall...

Awful Service here. The staff are rude and the owners are dishonest and do not care about their customers. I would never come back as my experience here has only left me with bad memories. I am surprised this business exists. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU LIKE GOOD SERVICE!

A great spot for that middle-of-the-walk pint. Two of our party enjoyed a pie of some sort which they enjoyed but maybe a tenner was a bit steep. Beer was spot-on, nice beer garden in an area of great historic interest.

We hadn't been to the Milecastle for quite a few years but it's still a great little place for good pub food and they now have real ales! I had the trout and my partner had the gammon, all well cooked and plenty of vegetables and potatoes/chips. Couldn't resist a dessert! We drove up from Haltwhistle, just a few minutes,...

Arrived as a surprise for my son's 30th birthday. (total surprise) Easter weekend. Beautiful location and a good beer garden. Really cosy interior but as the sun was shining we sat outside. Food excellent and reasonably priced & the staff great. The only downside was that on a bank holiday weekend they closed at 3pm!! I realise, being an ex...

Some of us had the game pies that were all right, some others had steaks that were ordered very rare but came overdone and probably not perfectly fresh. The service was all right. The decoration is very cosy and there is a good atmosphere.
