The location for viewing ships transitting the canal is excellent, but the rooms are very dated and sadly in need of major renovations. The A/C unit was the old in- window type and it was very noisy and not very effective.

Located overlooking lock 7 of the Welland Canal, you could sit on your balcony and watch the large lake freighters go through the lock. Modest accommodations, friendly reception and very helpful. Very close to the Bruce Trail and other biking and hiking opportunities.

I love this place. I like watching the big ships climb the Niagara Escarpment. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. The beds are comfortable and the TV service includes a guide channel.
