My husband and I stayed here for three nights in August, the weekend of the Tri Lobster race. The room we stayed in was very dated, but had everything we needed and then some! The owner was there to meet us every morning for breakfast (a huge continental style “buffet”) and very personable. He had great recommendations for our rainy day activities too. I would stay here again, though it may not be my first choice....

Thanks Kendra and Don; As you can imagine it is always a challenge to stay competitive. We work hard to keep the property in good condition and each Spring do a complete review of every unit. Having said that we are approaching 60 ourselves, and no matter what you do a 60 year old girl will not pass for one that is 20. We do bring on a very good continental style breakfast in July and August during the main tourist months, and we pride ourselves in having a fluent bilingual staff member available at all times. So "bang for your buck" we are still right up there. Thanks for taking the time to write this up, and we look forward to another visit someday!

ok so I have stayed here for three years in a row on the same weekend and it just keeps getting more run down each year. This year we had a 2 rooms including a kitchen. T.V. 8 channels Oven in the stove was so dirty that we had to turn it off because the smoke alarm sounded you pay before you stay and 3% is added for credit card payments never enough towels , had to go to the office three separate times to get more I've had a sore back ever since I've stayed there because of the beds

One has to wonder why you continued to go back? More run down each year? Hardly. We upgrade every year to prepare for tourist traffic. In the off season we rent out as apartments. We have 12 channels delivered to rooms but 200 channels available. I am sorry to learn that the oven was not as clean as we try to keep it. It is possible someone slipped up. Yes, like most motels you do pay in advance and yes we do charge to use a credit card; but there is No charge to use debit. As a small business we can't be in the position where we pay for your use of a credit card. Never enough towels......we set every room with the number of guests who should be using that room. In your case you had four extra people in the room (which you had not disclosed), and you had put a Do Not Disturb sign on the door and returned late afternoon when Housekeeping had already left. You did ask and did receive towels for all of your party provided by a friendly Front Desk clerk. Finally, we buy a half dozen new beds every year to ensure that we are providing fine beds and bedding. If you have a sore back it is possible you should look after your body better. My recommendation is this: consider paying more at a larger chain property. Clearly your budget brings you back often enough to complain. Give us a break!

My husband and I stayed here in July of 2019. While the motel is dated, it's clean and quiet. The owners are very nice and happy to make recommendations for places to eat and attractions. The included breakfast is basic but enough to get your day started. Murray's bran muffins fresh from the oven were wonderful. The motel isn't within walking distance to restaurants but Summerside is just a 10 minute drive. Our room had a king bed, sofa, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. A hairdryer was also provided which is greatly appreciated when travelling by Motorcycle! Lots of hot water and water pressure was also nice. Some small hotels have a hard time with that. We were very comfortable here and would be happy to stay there again!!

I can’t recommend this place enough to people who want to save a little money, yet are skeptical of what that really gets you. I have been here twice now. Once in 2017 and again this year, July 2019. The first time was just my mother and I. And we LOVED IT. This time I was able to bring my boyfriend and his mother. And I’m glad I brought them here because they loved it as much as I did. The staff are always extremely friendly and provide lots of suggestions on places to go. And I was greeted with the exact same hospitality the second time around so you can count on on consistency. It’s a motel, it’s not the ritz Carlton. Don’t go in expecting chocolates on your pillow (I’m saying this because of some of the reviews I’ve read... get real people) It’s a great place to stay, and is in a such a great location - centrally located to lots of great amenities on the center part of the island. We saved so much money on dining out because we took advantage of the kitchenette available. Let me put it this way, we were supposed to spend the last three nights of our vacation in Halifax at two different locations. We cancelled them and just stayed on the island until our flight day in Halifax because we loved the motel and the island so much. Thank you Anchor Motel & Suites for being so hospitibal and proving to my friends why I love coming to the island so much. Any time I get the chance to go to PEI, your motel is where I will want to stay every time. See you again soon! Courtney

Warms your heart! People will look for a balance in Reviews. We don't expect to be able to please everyone (we try!); but it is so nice to see the pendulum swing the other way, and really please the customer. Thanks Courtney

A poorly run motel with an unprofessional host, and unfortunately, understaffed. There is a bunch of "undesirable" locals that live there permanently. The office is always closed, and the owners wife wanders the outside of the motel constantly. Availabilities of rooms, are last minute and "up in the air". The host has an unfriendly, unorganized manner about him. It is located on a highway, so you will constantly hear semis and traffic, the walls are paper thin. Depending on the time of the year you go, it will smell like rotten fish and cow poop, because it is beside a farm, and down wind of it too. A motel is supposed to be a cheap place to stay, not a place you have to worry about leaving "spotless" when you leave. Avoid this motel, it gives PEI hospitality a bad name. Enjoy your tour of PEI elsewheres!

Cheap and quality service are an oxymoron. The reason we can keep our prices so low in the off season is we severely limit our staffing (hence the office is "always" closed). Our phone number is clearly posted at the entrance to the Motel and the property enjoys 24 hour service when requested. Our Office hours in the Off season are 8 AM to 6PM (also posted). Not sure what "up in the air" means so I cannot respond to that comment. Unfriendly and unorganized are rather ambivalent terms so I won't respond to that. The rest of this little diatribe is designed to damage the business. We are in the countryside and yes when the fields are fertilized there is an odor in the air. Yes we are on a highway so you could hear truck noise now and again; but rarely at night Mr. Gallant, my suggestion is this: 1) Book a City hotel, 2) Pick a brand name chain that operates a 24 hour Desk, 3) be prepared to pay for the quality you expect. Thank you for the opportunity to set this straight for you.
