We held our wedding event at La Buena Vibra Hotel & Spa on Nov 5, 2022 and it was magic, exactly what we dreamed of having. The chapel area seated our guests for the service, the lawn was used for cocktails, and a tent with tables was set up for the meal. Wedding cake and champagne was served under the fireworks. The meal was fabulous as was the service. Our event was a dream come true!
Everything they claim is false… the services is bad, the infrastructure is insufficient and they don’t look up for your safety WARNING! The the horse rinding trip we booked with the hotel was a safety disaster, first the taxi driver (booked by the hotel) was reluctant to drive us for the price the gave them and he made the trip very uncomfortable and made us feel very unsafe, then he drove us to a ranch with hundreds of empty cans of beer all over the place, the ranch was open with no people there just horses… there was no one there just the bottles and some dogs I called the hotel and the people who answers said the hotel spa was responsible not the hotel and that some body will come to get us, when I talked to the people in the spa they didn’t care… Then the basics of a hotel, you have to ask for everything from room cleaning the cable of the speaker the put in the room, not to mention coffee filters for the coffee machine. Infrastructure the credit card terminals don’t work, you have to pay everything in the front desk. The offer you things they don’t have like “cafe de la olla” and the tortilla soup is not the one described in the menu. So to be safe don’t book anything with them cause they don’t care about you, and It you stay here be prepared to have a painful experience.…
La Buena Vibra is a wonderland of beauty and serenity. My friend and I had the most amazing time. Jamie's yoga classes were definitely the highlight of our trip she is a very knowledgeable and wise teacher and has a loving compassion behind her teachings. If there was one thing that we would need to voice it would only be that there were limited vegan and vegetarian options in the restaurant.
The hotel is sold as "Retreat, relax, zen, etc." which nothing of that is real. On our first night a group of drunk people were partying at the pool from 2am to around 5am, drinking and shouting at all. We tried to report them but got no answer from reception and security was null. We tried to dissuade these people but they only became more violent. The next morning we reported with other guests the incident to the manager - Maira Garza - and she just justified that her shift was until 11pm and security was in charge after that... so.... sorry.. Another night, out load music from a room in our same premises. Same story with not response from reception but this time several guests went to get security, who after several hours arrived at dawn. So... nice premises, good restaurant, ZERO rest at night and Questionable safety. I think there area better and cheaper options that actually stand their service promise…
Everything about the retreat was planned and organized to give the participants the best experience. A variety of classes were offered throughout the weekend and catered to all levels of physical and spiritual practice. The yoga facilities are exceptional in both space and comfort. I would comment that the vegetarian meals were lacking in variety and were bland in taste and texture. Perhaps a change of menu is in order for the next retreat. My suite was beautiful, large and luxurious..couldn't ask for better. The grounds and the actual setting is beyond beautiful. I love the way the resort is made for meandering around, looking at the grounds, enjoying a swim, dinner in the restaurant, a drink at the bar..all in all a first rate experience.
We arrived 2.45pm, ordered right away and were not served until 1 hour later after having spoken with the manager a couple of times because we were there with a little kid who was super hungry and a baby. Neither did we get any appetizer or bread during this time. At last, food wasn’t good, everything seemed pre-prepared, avocado was already hard on the outside, fish was clearly frozen and not well unfrozen, rice was microwaved; or done in a rush. Place and garden are beautiful but the restaurant is tremendously expensive considering the quality of the food and service. Hopefully this was a one time overcrowded afternoon and is not the regular experience at Buena Vibra
We were there for my brothers wedding with a family group. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Spa is good. All the facilities are very nice and clean. Nice hidden gardens everywhere. The only thing I would improve is the front desk service. Someone abroad wanted to send a wine as a gift to the bride and groom, and it was never delivered, even though they coordinated the delivery via email.
I chose La Beuna Vibra for the great reviews and the fact that it had a gym and pool big enough to swim laps. I’ll return for many reasons, but chiefly three. Tepoztlan is know for its nature and it’s energy, and LBV is in the heart of the jungle at the foot of the mountains. One is serenaded at night by a gentle chorus of wildlife, and one awakes to the sound of stillness and the view of mist receding from the stunning face of the stone cliffs that border property. There are plenty of lovely hotels in Tepoz Centro, but if you’re traveling for tranquility, LBV is the best choice. The Mercado, artisan shops and restaurants taxis are only a 10 minute / 60 peso taxi away. The property looks beautiful in photos, but no photography could do justice to the care and intricacy of the buildings and landscaping. To walk around the property is to be simultaneously rooted in the spirit of Tepoz and also transported through the vision and imagination of the people who created it. This property alone is a reason to visit Tepoz. Which brings me to the third reason I’ll return: the people. Every member of staff is warm, attentive and charming. With the notion of luxury hospitality comes a certain expectation of competency, but LBV exceeds these expectations to a astonishing degree. To wit, on this rainy morning of my (very early) departure the security guard on duty brought an umbrella and left it open at my door. Thoughtfulness like this is inherent in some, but it’s generally imbued by leadership, in this case Paul and Tanya. Tanya had her first experience in Tepoz in 2006 and thereafter bought a small property. Fueled by Tanya’s vision, the couple turned the modest initial investment in a neglected plot of land into the sprawling, integrated, meticulously landscaped estate that it is today. I had the good fortune to meet Paul and hear their story firsthand. He’s a lovely guy, and I could see after our short chat why the team at LBV are so exceptional. He and Tanya lead by example. I’d like to extend my thanks to everyone at the hotel (especially the patient young woman who willed a taxi into existence this morning when the heavy rain caused several to cancel - I made my flight!), I wish everyone good health and an easy and swift transition back to normalcy, and I look forward to returning one day soon. -Adam…
Have been here before to take in the beautiful scenery and food that was highly recommended and it was good at that time. But this was before the resort (hotel and restaurant) began its collaboration with “Tesoros de México Hoteles y Restaurantes” a boutique hotel chain in Mexico. Since being encompassed into this chain of Tesoros the restaurant has gone down hill with sub standard food experience, from both the service of staff that seemed uninterested to even serve. While mainly the food was more like a 2-star hotel standard than a gourmet restaurant or even a 4-star resort & spa that they quote and holds themselves supposedly too. I would avoid for the time being until the resort improves its restaurant quality.
We went to enjoy the views and tranquility of the place have supper with the family. We had been previously but on this occasion the food was VERY POOR. Most of the dishes we tried were not good to eat. A place like this needs to step up their cuisine to make a truly great experience for guests. Unfortunately we will think twice before going again to eat.
