This was our tenth trip to Isla Holbox. In the past three years the population has exploded! If one was to walk in the center of town in the middle of the day three years ago, you would be the only thing moving. Now the dogs can no longer be found sleeping in the streets. Constant activity all day and...

We spent one week here, a good first floor room overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, idyllic! Friendly, pleasant staff serving GOOD cocktails & good food. Pancho & his ladies were very entertaining (iguanas). Easy trip into town, walk or golf carts.

Because Holbox island is a bit of a "Planes, Trains, and Ferry" destination, it remains a under "developed" gem of a relaxation beach vacation. The unique location of the barrier island on the North Yucatan Peninsula provides a fabulous beach experience. The morning out tide provides the opportunity to walk miles 100+ yards off the beach, along the ocean sand...

Having three kids at lovely afternoon lunch is never what you would call fun, lovely or pleasant. But this afternoon we walked into the restaurant here at Hotel Flamingo and have been blown away. The staff was so helpful that I could enjoy my meal. And dare I say have a drink. We special requested pasta with just butter. Not...

We stayed at Villa Flamingos as the last part of the three-location holiday. We definitely saved the best for last. Villa Flamingos sits on the beach at almost the far end of the main beach road, so has a peace you might not experience closer to the town. When I say 'road' it's a pretty rough track, serviced by the...

The rooms are very nice and clean, we had a large porch facing the sea. The sea is just in front of the hotel. They have a very, very small beach (approx 10 m) but it is abolutely packed with smelly sea weed (that they don't take away) and seagulls, which makes it extremely uninviting. However there are much better...

Stayed here for a week (Dec. 27-Jan. 3) with a friend in a double queen bedded first floor "Garden View Suite"; room #6. No view of the beach, but a quiet, nicely-shaded location. The room had ample storage space; good Wi-Fi connection; air con; mini-fridge stocked daily with bottles of water, and a terrace with two chairs, hammock and table....

A little piece of tropical paradise. The rooms are very nice and the grounds well maintained. There is a great beach for swimming or relaxing in the water hammock right in front. The bartenders at the outdoor bar are amazing and the waitstaff is friendly. The only knock on the place is that it is a bit far removed from...

The Villas Flamingos is a lovely place with a breathtaking view. From our room we could directly look at the sea which was amazing. Friendly staff and an amazing resort. We really enjoyed our stay and the relaxing ambience. The Villas Flamingos hotel site comes close to paradise. Nonetheless, it is very pricy and for that price category we missed...
